Training for 10K - 3 mile run

My 3 mile run yesterday was great! It was so nice to run a shorter distance. I really pushed it hard and ran fast! :)

I haven't heard back from the coach about my blister, so I'm just leaving it for now...taping it up seems to help. :)

    ELYSE - my big secret to running is good music. I think of it as my time when my kids aren't bugging me, no one at work is asking me questions, my darling husband isn't asking what's for dinner...it's just me, my run, at my pace, with my music. You learn to get into a zone and it's very refreshing and restoring. Good luck if you decide to start. It's wonderful and addictive! :)

  I would love to hear how your training is going. My fiance is a runner and wants me to run a 10k with him some day. The problem is that I hate running..so I'm looking for some kind of training program to get into. Good Luck with yours!

Training for 10K - 5 mile run

So we did our 5 mile run on Saturday morning. I had a great run & the weather was perfect! It was definitely a long run though and my muscles are tired, but that's a good thing! :)

My biggest concern now is my blister on my foot. We're getting closer to race day and I really want this thing to stop growing. It does ache sometimes and I don't want to end up hurt before the big day! I asked one of the coaches on the 10K message board about it, so we'll see what they say. :)

So today is a rest day and I couldn't be happier. I have a black toenail (which hurts) and a nasty blister on my right foot. Ugh! I have a 5 mile run in the morning, so I'm trying really hard to do NOTHING today. I'm recouperating and getting ready to run strong tomorrow!

I was dreading my 4.5 mile run yesterday b/c I didn't want to be stuck on a treadmill that long. I think my attitude go the better of me b/c I didn't run it in the best time, but I felt physically fine. It was a good lesson in mind over matter.

Now is a critical time in my training where the mileage is getting higher and completing the training runs takes almost an hour. Attitude is everything, especially when trying not to get bored. I need to reach out for more support and let those supporting me now know that I need an attitude adjustment. :) The training is going great though and I was noticing my toned legs this morning...what a great feeling! :D
