Half way there...

Friday, October 25, 2013

This blog is written by me & to be honest, for me...

I have reached the halfway point of my 70lb weightloss goal. Struggling a bit. I am writing this more or less as a contract to & with myself to keep fighting the good fight because I AM WORTH IT!!!

I commit to the following & will not give up, no matter the setbacks:
* Zumba every Monday
*Yoga every Tuesday
* Weigh-in every Wednesday
* Planet Fitness twice weekly
* Utilize my resources (WW Online; SparkPeople, Planet Fitnessetc) consistently
* I will seek help when needed
* I will eat a healthy breakfast
* I will complete another 5k walk by 12/31/13
* I will be motivated by what I have already accomplished
* I will not permit others to deter me from my goals

Free to be me, again...

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

Nothing like an impending dissolution to make you reflect on everything...

Today & each day moving forward I will be GRATEFUL for this journey as it has allowed me to focus on just that, ME! That focus will ALWAYS be positive in nature as I will be good to me: eating healthy, weekly Zumba & Yoga classes, long walks in area parks, sharing new adventures with old friends, making new friends along the way...

I've lost 35lbs. Half-way to my goal!

Lesson learned, the hard way...

(Just re-read my own blog from a long time ago. REALLY MOTIVATED MYSELF!)

So, here a sit @ nearly 200lbs!!! Although I had struggled w/ my weight for nearly all of my life, 5 years ago I was on a mission of change. My first goal was to lose weight. During that time I went from my all-time high of 236lbs down to 146lbs in about a years time. I consistently maintained a weight of 155-165 for 4 years. Then things changed: illnesses, getting off work @ 6 as opposed to 3:30 & getting married, to a cook no less. I was busy & just stopped paying attention to me.

A year ago I got on the scale & weighed almost 180lbs. Instead of that being motivation to "get back on track," I became very disappointed in myself & ultimately let myself go - all the way up to 216lbs!

In August of this year my sister mentioned SparkPeople to me & I am so very grateful that she did. I joined SP on 8/28/10 and to date I have lost 17lbs & am really enjoying the journey. I would like to take a moment to thank my AMAZING sister, both my my "12 weeks til Christmas Challenge" buddies & my SP friends for helping me along the way. You are appreciated!

    I was at goal wt a few yrs ago too! I thought for sure my days of crazy eating were over! nope! I started sparks 8/21 and have lost 11 pds. I think the secret to me is to stay focused! I think I will prob be a sparkie the rest of my life and log in my food! That's what I stopped doing last yr. as far as cooking for your new family. Do them a favor and feed them foods that will make them feel good about themselves too!You can do it, I can to! Let's be goal wt again soon! ~Maci~

about SP a year ago! Let me catch you up...

about 7 years ago I began my first serious weight loss effort. I lost about 100lbs total. I did gain back 10-15 of those lbs but managed to maintain that weight, 155-165, for over 4 years. Then things changed: change in work/hours, newly married (to a cook nonetheless), & an ailing father.

My sister kept telling me about this site. As soon as I had the time to investigate it, I joined. Tomorrow marks my 1 month anniversary w/ SparkPeople & as of yesterday I have lost 15lbs!!!

Instead of the "what if" I had discovered this site sooner rather than later, I will just be thankful for finding it & for my amazing sister who recommeded it to me.

Thank you Michelle!
Thank you SparkPeople!
