Getting it together

Thursday, January 02, 2014

I've finally decided that it's time to get this last 30 lbs. outta here! I'm actually looking forward to working out this morning. I think I'll simply start with a Wii Fit + workout today. I have so many awesome workout 'games' for my Wii that I should never get bored with my workouts. I'm simply tired of using excuses and not feeling my best! I can and will do this!!

Best of luck with you new challenge.

If possible and if you have a chance drop by my page and let me know the wii fit exercise videos you like. I got a wii fit (I did not ask for it so did not research) but got bored because it only have the video it came with plus Zumba. I take Zumba classes so I rarely do it at home. Love to put it into more use especially with my new crazy work schedule.

Take care, anne

Time for a change

Thursday, August 08, 2013

On June 9, 2012, I injured my foot at work. I currently have a lawsuit going in order to get the settlement I deserve. I've basically used my sore foot (yes, even after a year it's still sore) as an excuse to not exercise. The last Dr. I saw said that I'm okay to exercise on it, and although it may cause it to be sore, it will not do any more damage. Of course I've procrastinated. Since then I had a scooter accident (July 1, 2013) and cracked the radial head in my left elbow. I've been off work since it happened because I'm not allowed to lift more than 8 oz. with my left arm.

All this being said, I'm tired of not being able to push my body like I used to! I so enjoyed the way I felt physically, mentally, and even spiritually when I was working out regularly. So now I'm gonna Walk It Out! Back on the Wii and ready to sweat! I may not be able to do much strength training because of my bum arm, but I can certainly walk and run!

Wish me luck! I may need it!

Water exercise might be very good for you. Myself, I walk a lot. That's one of the best exercises you can do, and if the doctor gave you the okay, go for it. Just don't walk 20 miles the first day...start walking a short distance and build up to longer walks. I hope your foot continues to heal and your elbow, too. Take care!

I shattered my elbow at age 18 and, decades later, still deal with the results.
I hope things improve for you immediately! GOOD for you for walking!

Working out in water is a great idea - something I need to do myself. Meanwhile, I keep walking away myself. Keep on walking and I hope you start feeling better soon.

Maybe you'll want to try deep water exercise, such as aqua jogging. There's no impact, so no sore foot. I'm just catching up to myself after a bad wrist break, and finally returning to my regular exercise routines.

A day off!

Friday, June 08, 2012

I chose not to track my nutrition or concern myself with exercise (unless you count chasing a 3 yr old around for 7 hrs). I enjoyed taking my son and his family out for pizza at a pizza buffet, and I totally enjoyed every deviant bite! I also enjoyed spending the day with my grandson! I did have to chase or carry him much of the day. The rest of the day I spent driving! Ah, well, it was a very nice day off.

That sounds like a very nice day. I occasionally allowed myself days off, and I think that was very wise in the long run. Good for you!

Sore

Tuesday, June 05, 2012

Okay, I worked out 2 days in a row and OUCH!! I forgot to walk the dog yesterday (ran out of time); so today she's gotta have one. I'll be "hitting the gym" (on my Wii) again today. I know I need to let my muscles rest in between, but I really haven't thought about setting a schedule for workouts yet. I just want to get in the habit of making myself do it! I'm guessing two days on and one day off would be good. In that case, all I really need to do today is walk the dog... Hmmm.... Input?

I'm using Gold's Gym Cardio for Wii. I'm guessing that since it's cardio I should go ahead and do it today then. I'm thinking about adding yoga afterwards for my stretch.

They recommend working out different sets of muscles if you are working out 2 days in a row...You need to read up (I am not an expert on this) but plenty is available on this site.
Cardiio can be every day.

I think it's good to do at least a short workout almost every day but to work different muscle groups. As in one day concentrate on abs, the next legs, the next arms, etc. I try to take at least a mile walk daily just for fun in addition to any harder cardio I do during the week.

start. stop. start. stop.

Monday, June 04, 2012

Here I am again. I'm starting over. I so enjoy my workouts, and knowing that I'm doing something good for myself. I don't know why I let life get in the way of it. I really just need someone (besides my husband) to help hold me accountable so I can feel like I'm being challenged. I'd love to train for a 5k someday. I guess right now I just need to get some momentum and keep going strong.

Consistency is so very hard. Life just seams to be distracting sometimes. We ALL struggle with this. Just keep going! emoticon

are you wanting to walk, ride or run a 5 k?

I am having neck surgery on Wednesday and as soon as I am done I'm suppose (I hear) get up and start walking. I have already walked several 5 and a few 10 Ks in m life but I'm way out of shape and would happy to "viturally" train with you :) (i'd be walking!)

Don't feel alone...I think the 'start, get lazy, start, stop, start, get distracted' thing happens to all of us.
I have had a big boost by putting my 'fitness minutes' on my TICKER....if you do that, I will stop by your page and encourage you to meet your monthly goal emoticon
As you can see on my page, emoticon June is having a slow start for me!
