Cruel, Cruel Moon

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Today's title is from a song about a werewolf, by Paul and Storm. That is all.

Well, it was freezing, then it was warm, and now it's cold again. Not cold like before, but still below freezing. Crazy upstate New York weather. Lake effect snow today, but didn't kill my drive in. That's good. I'm hoping it all clears up by the time I leave around 7:30pm. Yeah, it's an 11 hour day today!

Fortunately, I have all my food ready and even dinner waiting for me in the fridge at home. Woot! I also already did my UFC workout and I have my workout stuff for sprints on the track between classes.

I'm hoping for higher temps and no snow this Saturday, because I have to get a long run in. 38ish days until the half-marathon and I've only done 6.5 so far!

Okay, time to teach. Four classes today!

Onward and upward!

Way to plan ahead! I'm crossing my fingers that Saturday is a beautiful day so you can get some good miles under your feet.

Wow, four classes and you liked it?! you're my hero! Or, rather, heroine.
Plus, you're probably the coolest professor there, with your sprints between classes

I'm Right Up the Road

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

I'll share your load, if you just call me.

Hello everyone!

Classes start today. I'm awfully excited. It's also so much warmer than the last few days. I'm hoping that means that it won't be too icy getting into work. It's still too dark to see the roads right now.

My exercise is rocking. I ran yesterday, though I was a bit late getting to the gym, and I had to negotiate with the track team to not get in their way while running around the track. This morning was all yoga, and it's done.

Today is my fasting day, which should be a breeze since I'm driving to work, teaching, small break, teaching, teaching, office hours/catching up on life, going home, making dinner. Whew! I don't think I'd have time to eat even if I wanted to!

I guess I should finish watching Leverage, finish getting ready, make my husband breakfast, and get to school!

Onward and upward!

Life Every Voice and Sing

Monday, January 16, 2012

Happy Monday! It's Martin Luther King Day, and there are no classes, but I still have plenty of prep and such to do, so I'll go in and work. Just not right away because it's still crazy freezing. Maybe I'll work at home for an hour or two.

I'm rolling on my exercise. Did UFC this morning and yesterday, and I'm planning a run today too (inside!). I broke my previous stopwatch, so I bought a new one at Target yesterday.

I'm also working on the food thing with my new schedule. I need to have leftovers for lunches from dinners Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. I need to make a double meal on Monday to have leftovers on Wednesday. I'm fasting Tuesday and Thursday. I'm also making some kind of spinach-artichoke-crab dip for dipping veggies for snack. I need to make yogurt today too.

So, I have a plan, I just need to do a lot of things. You know, my usual.

Onward and upward!

You Take Your Fear and Hoard the Horizon

Saturday, January 14, 2012

Well, I did my yoga this morning, but I still need to run 8 miles. I'll probably go soon.

I was inspired to make gluten-free mini-doughnuts this morning. They were yummy! Not too many, and just alongside my typical eggs and bacon. I have a new toy that's like a table electric grill with a bunch of pans that can be switched in and out, and one of them makes mini cakes (and doughnuts).

Today I've got to do just a bit more class prep. I'm mostly ready, which means I can work ahead some more. I also have two manuscripts that need to be worked on. Yuck. I'd rather run.

Anyway, so I'm watching Sherlock and then on to work and running and being careful not to snack too much around the house.

Just a Little Bit

Friday, January 13, 2012

of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. baby! Did you know that was actually written by Otis Redding? Music lesson for the day. Tomorrow, we'll talk about songs you didn't know Bruce Springsteen wrote.

So, we finally got the snow! This added a few minutes to my commute, but it wasn't really bad. I think we've got about 2-3 inches, so nothing major. We might get more overnight. I'm supposed to run tomorrow or Sunday, so I'll have to keep an eye on the weather to make that happen. I really need to do 8 miles. Half marathon in 41 days!

I just went biking today because it was easier to come home early and bike, and I though my husband might go to a movie, but he didn't. I did UFC this morning. Tomorrow is a yoga morning.

I'm mostly ready for my classes. I need to make a few more copies of some things, and prep a little more for lecture, but I feel good. I'm teaching huge blocks with minimal breaks on Tues, Wed, and Thurs, and then nothing Mon and Fri. This schedule might be awesome, it might kill me. We'll see.

Okay, right now, I need a power nap, and then I need a snack, and then I need to do work, make dinner, post on my blog, and plan my weekend and next week's meals. Whew! (I know, Hope, I'm crazy!)

Well, I didn't know Otis Redding wrote R-E-S-P-E-C-T. That will always be the Queen Aretha's song!

Hope you got everything done. WE got 6 in. of snow but not bad. The drivers were totally crazy, but I didn't do much driving anyway.

Have a great weekend!!
