More Wicked. Hehe.

Progress on Project LTPBHM (Lose-Ten-Pounds-Before-the-Half-Marathon)
Starting weight: 168.4
Current weight: 160.4
Yesterday's Goals Accomplished: 10 mile run, woot!!
Days to go: 19
Things to push me toward goal today: I did some morning yoga already, and I will do a weight circuit this evening or biking, we'll see. Also, fasting today.

Yesterday's run was brutal since we haven't run more than 6 miles in over a month. Have to do 10 or 11 again next weekend though before dropping back to be prepared for the Oct 1st race. I found a really nice local running trail though, so that's awesome.

This week is going to be nuts because we are going to concerts Tues and Thurs and they are each two hours away. Yikes! Still, it's like the husband and my favorites musicians: They Might Be Giants and Jonathan Coulton, and we know the opening bass player. Just gotta keep moving and stay low carb to keep my energy up.

In general, I feel pretty awesome. The husband is not doing as fabulously, and actually, he got sick (threw up) about 30-45 min after the 10 mile run. Any runners out there have any ideas for him? I think that he didn't cool down and stretch well enough and he didn't put anything into his body except Vitamin Water right after the race. Next time, I think we'll bring a Clif Bar and I'll make him walk and stretch.

Okay, time to get to work, class in 20 minutes!

Congrats on your accomplishments so far. Good job!

Have a great time at your concerts!
We went to two concerts a week ago. Luckily, they were on the weekend, Friday and Saturday night.

Too late for second guessing

Sunday, September 11, 2011

... too late to go back to sleep, it's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes, and leap! It's time to try defying gravity.

I love Wicked. It's my 5th favorite musical after Rent, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, and Jesus Christ Superstar, and just before Next to Normal.

I'm at 163 this morning, but today is going to be a ten mile run so that should help quite a lot.

Also, all my grocery store food shopping was done before 8am. I love living in a place with 24 hour grocery stores.

This week I'm going to two concerts each 2 hours away, so I'm going to be completely insane. Should be fun though!

Have a great Sunday all.

Onward and upward!

I'm interested in things

Saturday, September 10, 2011

The line from my song today is TMBG. I'm seeing them twice next week, so expect a lot of TMBG.

Okay!

Progress on Project LTPBHM (Lose-Ten-Pounds-Before-the-Half-Marathon)
Starting weight: 168.4
Current weight: 161.0 love me a post-fast drop, now can I hold it!
Yesterday's Goals Accomplished: morning yoga
Days to go: 21
Things to push me toward goal today: RUN!

So, the last two days were exciting. A pipe in our basement that was connected to the sump pump broke, which allowed the basement to flood, which put the power box under water, which knocked out half our power and our hot water. So, we had people in and out for two days pumping the 3 feet of water out of the basement and fixing things. Also, the road that was flooded Thursday was still flooded until yesterday afternoon, so I was going round-about everywhere. I'm pretty sure that things are mostly back to normal now. Whew!

So, this weekend I have to stay on track. Completely, no excuses. I also have to run 10 miles. Shouldn't be too hard. Today is the farmer's market and hitting my favorite new local market location. Yums! That will all start soon. Then, we have to run. A lot.

I'm joining a few challenges here with my gaming groups, which is exciting. Plus, it gives me further excuses to keep up with stuff after the half-marathon. I really want to make this happen this time.

Okay, I should get going on my day and all.

Onward and upward!

Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' Another

Not a bad Journey song, not in my top 5, but still fun. What are my top 5 you ask? Why Faithfully, Wheel In The Sky, Don't Stop Believing, Separate Ways, and Lights, with Open Arms as a close sixth.

Anyway. So, it rained all day yesterday, and everything flooded, again. Sometime last night the two road on either end of my little road were both closed. Fortunately, this morning the one was open and I took a round about way into work, but had no trouble. My school of course is the only one open this morning! Our county is in a state of emergency until about Saturday though due to river cresting, so that could be fun.

I've been eating too much peanut butter lately. I mean, it's not real junk, but it's high calorie. I should really try to curb that problem. I can't run because of all the rain and flooding, but I did an indoor walking workout last night and my Kinect this morning. The husband did 45 min on the bike, I'm awfully impressed. He hates working out. I'm hoping the waters recede by Sunday and we can do a 10 mile run because we need it.

Of course the reason peanut butter is so high in calories is because there are about 16g of fat per 2 tbsp (~150 cals just from fat), but most if it is healthy fats. So while it does up your calories, at least you're doing it with something that is healthy for you instead of something that is total junk.

Good Vibrations

Wednesday, September 07, 2011

So, I'm becoming acutely aware of the fact that if I want my polyphasic sleep system to work properly I have to eat right and exercise. When I am on track, I am wide awake and getting stuff done. When I fall even a bit off track, I am dead tired and falling asleep. Therefore, I need to maintain my low-carb, keep moving lifestyle if I am going to get anything done.

This morning, I cut up about 10lbs of chicken and pork for the freezer, made lunch and breakfast, checked all my email and such, put out the trash and recycling, did 20 min. of kickboxing, and am writing this blog while watching the Supernatural Season 6 gag reel. I also caught up on 3 episodes of the DnA Foodcast (dnafoodcast.com is two gamers who cook) while doing the above. It's only 7am. Woot!

Update on Project LTPBHM (Lose-Ten-Pounds-Before-the-Half-Marathon) is that my weight was 164.0 this morning. That's 2.4lbs down from yesterday and 2lbs above my lowest so far. I am betting on a 1lb drop by tomorrow to kick all the water weight from the last huge slip-If it ever stops raining, I also need to run. If I have 15 minutes, maybe I'll do wind sprints in the backyard. I can do those in the rain. They did it on Friday Night Lights. "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!"

I don't like the show much, but the husband does.

Okay, so I'm set for food today. I have a plan for exercise. I think I'm good.

Onward and upward!
