Don't Know Much About History

Friday, September 02, 2011

In the spirit of full disclosure: we ended up going out to dinner last night. Then, I ate spinach-cheese dip and tortilla chips, BBQ chicken, coleslaw, and french fries, and I had cool whip for dessert later.

So, I'm up to 164.4, which could be worse. However, I'm fasting today, so that should help. We're running tonight because it rained yesterday, also good. I did some detox power yoga this morning already.

Then Sat-Sun we're in NYC for the wedding and such. That might be rough calorie-wise and exercise-wise!

Okay, gotta run and finish my lecture for class. Might or might not update until Monday. Have a good weekend!

Onward and upward!

I can't fight this feeling anymore

Thursday, September 01, 2011

I'm getting better at getting on here. I think I'm also adjusting to the new sleep schedule because I was wide awake at 3:45 today! I know it sounds crazy, but it works for me.

Progress on Project LTPBHM (Lose-Ten-Pounds-Before-the-Half-Marathon)
Starting weight: 168.4
Current weight: 162.0 (-6.4lbs) - nice drop!
Yesterday's Goals Accomplished: morning Kinect kickboxing, evening strength training
Days to go: 30
Things to push me toward goal today: morning abs, evening run

I finally finished the revisions on a manuscript I was working on that was killing me, and now I'm trying to catch back up on everything else. Seriously, where does my time go! Today I have a whole chunk of time in my office so I should at least get caught up and hopefully ahead on lecture material. Then, I hope to get back to work on my blog, and catch up on my sudoku calendar!

I also have a wedding this weekend, yikes! Bonus: it's at the Bronz Zoo, woot!

Okay, time to get a move on with my abs this morning.

Onward and upward!

Your progress is so inspiring. Running is not something I could even consider, and my knees would scream at me, but at least I'm getting consistent with the Wii, yoga and aqua aerobics. Continued success!

Great job on the weight loss. Keep up the good work. And have fun @ the Zoo! What a great, fun place for a wedding. And the Bronx Zoo at that!!

Oh, Brother Let's Go Down

Progress on Project LTPBHM (Lose-Ten-Pounds-Before-the-Half-Marathon)
Starting weight: 168.4
Current weight: 163.2 (-5.2lbs)
Yesterday's Goals Accomplished: morning cardio yoga, evening strength training
Days to go: 31
Things to push me toward goal today: Morning YourShape Kinect, evening run

So, I've got my husband on an increase-endurance-prior-to-the-half-marat
hon regimen of twice a day workouts, so I figured that I would join him and get my exercise back up as well since I've been lacking on the strength training.

I'm a little behind on class prep right now, but I'll catch back up. I love it! it's so much fun teaching, and my college students amuse me to no end.

Right now, I'm readjusting my sleep schedule, which is a little rough, but coming along. I sleep polyphasically, which means less at night but I pick up naps during the day. Right now I'm aiming for 3 hours at night and 3 naps, though I may increase it to 4 naps. Still, once I get it working, I'll feel great and have more time to play with.

So, I need to finish watching this episode of Warehouse 13 and then go get ready for work. Today is 2 labs in the morning and then the afternoon open for prep. Woot!

Onward and upward!

Good heavens . . . I'd DIE on 3 hrs. sleep! My grandfather was like that though. He was the best power napper I ever knew!! And he lived to be 95!! Healthy as a horse throughout his life.

Have fun 2 school!!

Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow

Monday, August 29, 2011

So, we survived Irene. Really, I wasn't in the hurricane, but it did cause Central NY to rain for nearly a whole day and then a bunch of areas flooded. Just a few houses down from me the main road we typically drive on was a river! We managed to maintain power though.

Progress on Project LTPBHM (Lose-Ten-Pounds-Before-the-Half-Marathon)
Starting weight: 168.4
Current weight: 164.6 (-3.8lbs)
Weekend's Goals Accomplished: 6 miles walk/run
Days to go: 32
Things to push me toward goal today: morning yoga, fasting, evening strength training, cleaning and unpacking

I'm always a little up after a weekend, mostly because, you know, I eat things I shouldn't over the weekend. Like maple fudge, cookies, and limeaid. What could I do: there was a cute little town fair! Still, I'll be back where I started the weekend after today's fast.

Right now, I have to go do some serious yoga.
