I Want to Come Over

Saturday, June 04, 2011

Title from Melissa Etheridge song I sang at karaoke on Wed.

I was reminded yesterday to weigh-in, yikes! 172.4 wow. Well, considering how far off the rails I got, I guess that could be worse. Time for some serious buckling down. I think I'm going to have a grain-free week, or at least grain minimal. That tends to help me out. Also, sugar free.

In that vein, I should do some meal planning since I need to go shopping about an hour.

Sat: Chicken chili
Sun: Roast beef quiche with salad
Mon: Cajun meat/bean dish with salad
Tues: spicy Teriyaki stir fry
Wed: Alfredo primavera with salad
Thurs: Steak, feta sauteed spinach and diced tomatoes, broccoli and cauliflower
Fri: "Hamburger Helper" with salad

Okay. Yesterday worked out far better than any previous days, even though I still didn't exercise. Today I will run, though probably in the afternoon because we're going to see X-Men: First Class at 11:30am.

I also need to clean a lot, our apartment is a huge mess, and I need to write articles for my blog to get myself ahead a bit.

Also: I told the one realtor that we would rent her house next year, so we have a place to live, woohoo! Now I just need to book movers and I can relax until we need to pack. Not moving until August, but I'm glad to have it all squared away.

Not much else to say, lots to do!

Onward and upward!

Stress does funky things to the body and weight! Glad you've got a place to move and a moving time. That helps . . . a little.

Good luck!

It's Friday, I'm in Love

Friday, June 03, 2011

I have no idea why that song is stuck in my head, but it is.

So, my travels were, umm, well, mostly pretty terrible. My husband got a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt by a cop trolling a toll booth. He got into a huge blowout with his father which ended up in us not having dinner with the family on Sunday. Our apartment-hunting expedition had a variety of issues including people who wouldn't get in touch and creepy landlords, and stress was generally off the charts.

So, all my plans to be good, yeah, out the window. I ate like crap, barely exercised, and am still kind of getting it all back together.

There were some good things. We had a good time with our friends and played some awesome Rock Band. I had some good BBQ out with my sister. We probably found a place to live in August, but we still need to confirm it.

Anyway, I need to pretty much not screw up and back way off carbs for the whole next week to make up for this. Also, I need to run. Fortunately, the weather appears to finally be cooperating.

Anyway, I'm back. I'm blogging. I know what I'm meant to do. I think I can do it! The rest of the summer has to get better, right?

A tip for apartment searching - call the city inspector's office and ask them for a recommendation. After I ended up in a bad apartment then a horrific apartment, I talked to the inspector's office and they were able to tell me what apartment communities didn't receive a lot of complaints and took care of the few they did get very quickly. It was a huge help and I found a cheap but decent apartment to spend my last 6 months in before I bought my house.

Better Things Are On Their Way

Friday, May 27, 2011

Title courtesy of Dar Williams.

Scale today read 170.6. Seriously. This is why I hate the scale. Okay, that just means I really, really have to be good over my travels. I should be able to handle that.

Well, today is a fast day anyway, so that should help. I ran yesterday. Ended up going faster than my husband for a while. Since I'm 5'7" and he's 6'2", that's quite a a feat. Did a good power, vinyasa yoga this morning.

Okay, it's Fabulous Friday and we are playing Dungeons and Dragons tonight, and so that is always fabulous! Sometimes, someone will bring a bottle of wine to split as well, which would be nice.

Probably leaving tomorrow morning early and will be on the road through Wednesday, so updating might be sporadic, we'll see.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone!!

I Know the Territory

Thursday, May 26, 2011

I've been around. It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down, and sooner or later, you'll be screwing around.

Okay, just a little Meatloaf to start you off. That's what I ended up doing at karaoke with a friend last night.

Weigh-in 170.4 yuck. Oh well. I'll keep at it, and it'll go down again.

I wasn't bad yesterday, just a few munchies and one Reese's Big Cup in the evening with my cherries. I don't think I actually ate that many calories, but the evening ones were sugars, thus water retention.

Tonight, I shouldn't eat anything on the way into my fast for tomorrow. Then the weekend of travel. I can do it, just focus on veggies and fruits the whole time I'm traveling.

It's Thankful Thursday and I'm thankful for clouds. The weather finally cleared up yesterday, and it got way too hot! Give me a light cloud cover and 65F any day over sunny and 80. I know, I should move to Seattle. I'm working on it!

That's enough for now. Lots to do today!

Bought a One-Way Ticket Back

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

I'm running late this morning, so quick and easy.

Weight: 169.6
I better be really good today and tomorrow.

I did all my strength and 2 miles of running yesterday and 15 min of kickboxing this morning.

Staying on track. I just have to keep busy, no munching. Karaoke tonight, so time for exer-singing! Maybe I'll do Total Eclipse of the Heart or Midnight Train to Georgia. The latter is where the title is from.

Woohoo Wednesday: ran 4 miles nonstop this weekend! Woohoo!

Onward and upward!
