New Year ... New Start!

Tuesday, January 04, 2011

When I started this journey in 2008, I was damn near unstoppable. I got up and walked, I counted calories, I was crazy, and I lost nearly 50lbs. Well, I've been decent about not gaining that back, but both 2009 and 2010 were years of ups and downs and not a whole lot of change.

This year I'm changing that. My new goal is to get the body I want by my 30th birthday, which is February 25th 2012.

I know what I need to do, and I know how to do it. I know every time I eat things I shouldn't, and I typically know why. I haven't done nothing the last two years. I've been trying out lots of things. I've been building my arsenal of weapons against overeating. I've been running. I've been recognizing my reactions to carbs and sugar. I've been fasting. I've put together systems of accountability ready when I am.

Essentially, I can do this, and I think it's time. I'm tired of that pouchy thing around my waist. It's gotta go!

I start this year, 2011, at 161.4 lbs and a comfortable size 10. I can't wait to see where I finish it!

Best wishes to you! Sometimes you need to take a step back to realize which way you can go to get those 2 steps forward. Now that you see the path, go for it!

Wow! You've done really well. And you know what, I'm going to try and get there myself. I had been okay about getting the muscles, so I need to more do yoga and aerobics.

Okay, so I missed a few days, I'm working on it.

I did decently this weekend, I think. My weigh-in is tomorrow, and I had my high calorie day Sunday and fasted today, so we'll see how it all balanced out.

I'm back to sugar-free baking. My breakfast bars this weekend had a puree of peach, acorn squash, and golden raisins to sweeten. They were good.

I'm still kind of insanely busy, but I'm trying to get back into the exercise habit. When I'm in it, I exercise all the time, but when I let myself make excuses, then I get stuck in a no exercise rut. Tonight I did squats, lunges, push-ups, and curl-presses. Tomorrow morning is running.

Also, today is Super Mario Bros. 25th birthday, yay! And it's Supernatural's 5th birthday! To my SPN fangirls, check out my blog today for an article on it: girlsaregeeks.wordpress.com

Oh, as for the title today, I got raspberries from my favorite farmer's market stand again, hooray!

Well, time for more catch-up!

Onward and upward!

That is great, I just read a spark article about how great rasberries are. So high in fiber and other nutrients. Awesome!!!

That is pretty cool about Super Mario! Are you on any gaming teams? I'm on Gamers Fit, which is pretty fun. Would you mind stopping by and sharing that info? If not, do you mind if I do?

Have a great day!! Good luck on your weigh-in.

I spent far too much time at karaoke tonight, so very, very short blog.

Food: all on track, had two vodka-sodas at karaoke instead of real snack, and avoided corn tortillas with dinner

Exercise: Does karaoke count? I also did Yoga this morning

Life: Pretty insane on all fronts. May have really pissed off hubby tonight with the karaoke, but it's like my drug, and I have a horribly addictive personality. I'm not sure how he puts up with me sometimes.

Okay. Just before I go, it was WOOHOO Wednesday and I have been back on track for two days: WOOHOO!

Onward and upward!

It's Gonna Be the Future Soon!

Tuesday, September 07, 2010

Wow, I haven't blogged in forever.

Long story, short: my job situation is a bit precarious and my blog is taking off and my life is insane.

However, I've recently found more time in my life by experimenting with biphasic sleep. I may talk about that more in the future. It isn't for everyone, but I'm almost a month in and I love it.

I also spent the last two weeks in Seattle at two very different conferences. I had a blast. I love Seattle. I ate way too much. However, I did keep up with my running and enjoyed a couple of great runs along the Puget Sound.

So, I'm going to try and update here again. No promises on length. Here's the quick version of my day: fasted, drank tea, made a healthy veggie-filled dinner, and did a 25 minute workout. Now I'm here, and now I'm off to write a top ten list for my girlsaregeeks blog!

Onward and upward!

I've never heard of biphasic sleep - would love to hear more about it. Good luck with the job situation.
