Well, so much for D&D, two of our 4 person group canceled. Still, me and my husband had our own good time.
Yesterday was decent for food and exercise. I ran in the morning and did stairs in the afternoon. No evening exercises, but I wasn't planning on it anyway.
I ate well, had dinner, and had a quick treat of dates, raisins, and nuts, and was done by 8pm, and am now on my Friday fast until at least 4:30, preferably 5pm.
Yesterday was also Thankful Thursday. I am thankful for my crockpot, it cooks dinner while I work so I can get more done and come home to dinner almost ready! How about you?
Okay, I should put up my plan for today to keep me busy:
- Fun Fact Friday
- Post Links to blog
- Prep for sampling
- Sample for experiments
- Finish Venn diagram post for blog
- Do analytics on samples
- Midday walk (pretty sun outside!)
- Dinner: chicken cacciatore, mozzarella balls, asparagus and brussel sprouts
- Turbulence Training workout
Okay. Time to enjoy my Friday free of concern about eating!
Onward and upward!

I've been in science land all day. Well, I work in science, but I also got a Nature table of contents email with articles on topics I don't work on like diabetes and video games. I critiqued the video game one for girlsaregeeks.wordpress.com , and maybe you'll see others on Fun Fact Friday!
Today was WOOHOO Wednesday! I'm just glad I got online at all and am writing this blog! I've been crazy.
I made BBQ chili last night, yummy. Tonight I made a cheesy spaghetti with onions, peppers, zucchini, summer squash, and black eyed peas. No meat, just beans and cheese and rice spaghetti. No comment on that from hubby, always a good sign!
Prep crockpot for dinner
Microscope all day
Midday walk/stairs (I expect stairs since it's meant to be rainy)
Okay. Gotta run!
Onward and upward!

Wow, where have I been? Busy, that's where. Here's the quick showdown:
Thurs: job interview, went great, not sure if it will pay enough to take, but haven't been offered ... yet. Food was not too bad because since it was a busy morning with a late lunch, I fasted until lunch. It worked great, and I was focused and not thinking about food at all! Quick morning workout, evening spent baking.
Fri: Hubby's birthday including party butterscotch cake, chocolate mint cheesecake (he made that) chili and queso and Rock Band and games, whew! I fasted in the morning before the party as Friday is my usual fast day. Morning workout done, but no other.
Sat: Drove to New Haven to get a burger from Louis's Lunch, the first burger place ever (so they say). Again, I fasted all morning until the burgers. I think it actually gets easier and easier. We went out to dinner to an Italian place that now serves gluten-free pasta -- yay!!! I also had creme brulee, mmm. Barely even got in my morning workout, ack.
Sun: sang solos in church, they were great. Tried to eat approximately normally, thought about exercising, did my yoga in the morning but nothing else.
Mon: caught up on life, also had a complete fast day with morning, midday, and evening exercise and a really healthy dinner of oregano chicken and tomatoes, salad, and white bean soup.
So, now I'm back to today. I'm a little nuts lately because I've been putting a lot of time into the new blog girlsaregeeks.wordpress.com and work is nuts. I may be sporadic on here. I'm still pushing and moving forward ... really!
On that note, Tuesday's Tip is that when you inevitably step back, you should then just go ahead and take two more steps forward. You will still be a least a little bit ahead that way.
Okay. No time for to do lists, assume I'm meant to exercise a lot and get a lot of work done.
Keep trying everyone, look at my insane weekend!
Onward and upward.

Ignore my lame DnD reference. So, today's to do list was an epic fail. I got terribly sidetracked by other things, some of which are actually important and timed, so things that are not timed got pushed aside. Mmmm.
However, diet and exercise still pretty good. Totally missed my midday workout, but did my evening one even after getting home even at 9:30.
This has to be quick, because it is late, I am tired, and still have a few things to do. Not on here.
Tuesday's tip for you: always push yourself harder! Workouts won't change you unless they are always changing, so each time do something a little heavier, a little longer, or a little tougher.
Okay. Quick version of tomorrow's to do list:
- Morning yoga
- Woohoo Wednesday
- Top ten list for blog
- Finish interview prep for Thurs
- Analyze and sample acetate/sulfate/iron
- MIDDAY WORKOUT!
- Work on manuscript
- Spinach and beef enchiladas for dinner
- Evening MAYHEM!
Okay. One Next to Normal quote to get me through the week: Day after day, give me clouds and rain and gray, give me pain if that's what's real, it's the price we pay to feel.

I'm watching How I Met Your Mother. That is the only explanation for my title. Yup.
Okay. Motivational Monday! Here's my motivational quote for the day:
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Considering my transgressions this weekend included quality time with Ben and Jerry (New flavor: Peanut Brittle!), I need the fresh start this week.
So, today was pretty good. I worked out this morning, ate the way I was meant to, did a nice walk with some stairs in the afternoon, made a nice Pad Thai for dinner, did a Project Mayhem challenge, and had a snack.
I have this strange thing when I'm working out and eating in a deficit where when I stand up from sitting for a while I get slightly light-headed. It doesn't seem to be an issue, but I find it odd. I'm not certain what it is, but I'm betting on my blood pressure. I can keep it quite low with workouts and diet, and it would cause that rush upon standing. Blood sugar wouldn't react that quickly. Interesting note: I was diagnosed with high blood pressure at age 15 with a high around 155/110. Now, at age 28, I'm pretty sure it's low enough to make me light-headed upon standing. That is a testament to diet and exercise, yes?
Oh, tomorrow morning is C25K with 20 min straight run. Exciting! I hope it's not too cold. My hand were freezing from the wind chill on Sat.
Umm, other news, oh, new blog post on having geeky parties at girlsaregeeks.wordpress.com , read it, it's awesome.
I still need a dehydrator. They are expensive and hard to find. Donations? j/k.
And my newest favorite Broadway show just won the Pulitzer! Here's an awesome quote from it: Maybe we can't be okay, but maybe we're tough and we'll try anyway, we'll live with what's wrong, let go of what's past, and maybe I'll see you at last
Okay. Not a lot of diet/exercise news. Tomorrow will be better because my Wii is back and I can weigh in! I have no idea if this will be good or bad weight-wise, but at least I'll know.
So, to-do list for tomorrow:
- Morning run
- Tuesday's tip
- Check on acetate/sulfate from yesterday
- look up stuff for job interview
- 40 min on manuscript
- Geobacter tree
- Midday walk/stairs
- Singing practice
- Book club
- Small group ministry
- Turbulence training workout
Okay. That's the list. Now, time for some 24 then some sleep. Woohoo!
Onward and upward!
