My gluten-free, sugar-free hamantaschen were a huge hit! People who knew could barely believe there was no sugar in the dough. I posted the recipe: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai l.asp?recipe=968310 . I also remade a recipe I did last month for spinach stuffed meatloaf and posted it this time: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai l.asp?recipe=968253
Okay. Well. Yesterday's party was awesome and I ate a ton. I got right back on track today. I'll see the true extent of the damage tomorrow, but I suspect it wasn't that bad. I met my 2lb goal for Feb, and now I'm setting my next 2lb goal for March. March might be tough since I will be out of town for a week between March 25-31. I think I want to see 151lbs on April 3rd. I can do that.
Well, time to get back to the system of posting my to do's! For tomorrow:
- morning workout
- post Motivational Monday posts!
- no sugar
- mid-work walking (gotta pay the rent anyway)
- call best buy about points
- complete a clone library
- spend at least 2 hours on the microscope
- spend at least 30min writing
- evening workout
- 10-15 min of singing practice
The last one is new because I agreed to sing a song in church in about a month that goes up to high Fs and Gs, and I am out of practice for those, so my vocal muscles need workouts too!
Whew, I am going to be busy, woohoo!
It's going to be a great week everyone, at least if you make it one.
Onward and upward!

So, it's that time again for me to stay accountable to you all and myself and post some monthly pictures. Here's me at the beginning on the year and now!
So my current yearly weight change: 163.4 - 153.0 (-10.4lbs)
Not half bad! I reached my weight goal for February, which was 153. For March my goal will be another 2 lbs for 151. I figure I can easily lose two pounds a month all year, because that's not so much.
Okay. Well, yesterday was boring foodwise, just classics. Tonight is party and I'm fasting all day until dinner!
My to do list today involves party prep: cleaning up, making hamantaschen, buying party stuff, etc. I'm making a tri-tip steak for dinner with a red wine demi glaze of some kind. Should be exciting.
Okay, I'm out all.
Onward and upward!

They say it's your birthday ...
It's my birthday too
Happy Birthday to George Harrison and myself!
So, my karaoke night was fun. I ended up singing a Dixie Chicks song and Me and Bobby McGee, which nobody knew because it was a college crowd and they are all too young and don't learn the classics anymore. I didn't have any drinks, woohoo!
Today has been pretty typical for a Thursday except I've been playing all my favorite music rather than trying to play stuff everyone likes. I did my biking this morning and ran stairs midday. I've been eating good things. I got work done at work, including both items on the to do list.
So, no great insights or excitement today, just generally happy. I did have the thought this morning when I put on my favorite shirt that I had a nice curvy figure, and if I can have a great figure by 28, then I can have abs by 30, right? So, that's my new long-term goal. Abs by 30. Wow, I'm close to 30.
Well, I'm doing this early since I have a lab meeting, followed by run to eat and play D&D and then bed. Dinner should be excellent. I made a fajita casserole thingy. It has layers of pork with cream cheese and salsa verde; pico de gallo made from tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and black beans; corn tortillas; shredded cheese. I can't wait to have some! Yesterday I made a BBQ Chicken and Rice dish that was so good I posted it: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai l.asp?recipe=962846 . Serious comfort food.
To do for tomorrow:
- morning, midday, and evening exercise
- finish microscope counts and examine data
- meet with the person from Girl Scouts for volunteer opportunities
- complete at least half of a clone library
- no sugar
- begin next fast after dinner
- post fun fact for Fun Fact Friday
- complete a new chapter of one of my stories
Okay. That's plenty for a Friday!
Onward and Upward!

Oh, yes tonight is the first Karaoke night of the Birthday Extravaganza! My birthday is tomorrow (25th) and my friend's is next Wed (3rd) and we are celebrating for a week by doing Karaoke on both Wed. nights and a party on Saturday! Woohoo!
Today has gone exceptionally well so far. We had enough snow to shut down UMass, but the buses still ran so I worked a normal workday except that I left about 45 min early. Since I got home early, I did a 30 min yoga workout and it felt fabulous! It was an intermediate/advanced workout and I did all the advanced moves except for two. I forget how much I love yoga, I should get back to doing yoga two mornings a week. Food has gone well. My plan for tonight is to not drink at all, but if someone insists on buying a drink for my birthday I will have just one, and it has to be simple and not full of empty liquid calories (i.e., soda or juice).
I still intend to workout tonight before karaoke as well since it doesn't start until 10pm and I typically workout between 8-9.
Nothing special is going to happen tomorrow. Actually, we have a huge lab meeting that will run late and then a night of D&D, I like D&D, hehe!!
Okay. To do list time. Yesterday's list: going to be accomplished by midnight! All except the acetate, which was not me not wanting to do it, but running out of supplies!
To do list for tomorrow:
- running/biking in the morning
- prep enchilada casserole in the crockpot
- count microscope pictures
- finish one full clone library
- do an at-work workout
- find something interesting in the lab meeting
- no extraneous snacking during D&D
I love a good plan! Any requests for karaoke? I'm definitely "I Enjoy Being a Girl" and "We Didn't Start the Fire"
Onward and upward!

Yes, I'm making today's entry mostly about food, which is kind of hilarious because I actually fasted today from 7pm last night until 3pm this afternoon. This should take down all my remaining bloat from NYC plus some hopefully.
Before I get on food, first exercise really quick. I ran this morning with my husband! There were snow flurries falling on us, but it wasn't actually that cold. We started at the beginning of C25K because he hasn't run in over a year and I haven't since Dec. I also bought a get-arch insole for my right shoe. My hip hurt after, but only a bit. I'm hoping this will balance me out so my hip and toe will stop hurting when I run. I also just did my stair runs here at work. Woohoo!
On to food. I've posted a bunch of recipes lately, and this morning I got really creative with the concept of a stew with chicken, ham, and navy beans which ended up being flavored with paprika, chili powder, curry, and thyme and tasted great! Here are my most current links, go make my recipes then rate them please!

I really enjoy random cooking. I was working on a cookbook back when. I should get on that again.
This weekend I am making hamantashen (jelly/seed filled triangular cookies) for Purim, and I'm considering making one regular batch and one sugar-free batch! Should be pretty exciting either way.
Okay, onto the to-do list:
I didn't get on the microscope today, and I have to find a reading now, but everything else is done!
For tomorrow:
- Microscopy!!
- Acetate measurements for experiment
- no sugar
- 3 workouts
- Do something extra nice for hubby (because he's letting me go to ...
- KARAOKE!!!
Woohoo! Okay. Off to find my reading and head to small group ministry, and then go home and workout Mayhem style.
Onward and upward!
