Day 4: Stairs hurt

Monday, January 04, 2010

Today I did my stair climbing intervals at work, whew! Lots of serious leg work, ouch. Workouts are going awesome, food is going awesome, and I feel absolutely spectacular. I'm kind of waiting for the bottom to fall out or the January high to diminish. Anyway, that's it for today, bye, y'all.

Onward and Upward.

Day 3: Still Going

Sunday, January 03, 2010

Day 3 of Dax Moy's ( londonpersonaltrainingstudio ) Meltdown.

My two big bonus's today:
1) I only ate good things at church, grapes apples and celery, no cream cheese, and brought my own yogurt with fruit and peanut butter to snack on (I sing in the choir, so I'm there from 8:15 until almost noon)

2) I made Santa Fe rice for dinner (like glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.co
m/2008/02/santa-fe-brown-rice-bake.html
only with chicken and black beans added) and with something like that I would normally have cheese and sour cream, but since I'm laying off the dairy I made myself guacamole instead, and it was delicious. My husband had his portion wit cheese, fritos, and sour cream, and I had none!

My workouts are going well, I got them all in today spaced out nicely. It's actually pretty easy to convince myself to do a workout when I know it will only be 10 or 15 minutes.

Okay. So, good all around. Hooray!

Onward and upward.

Wow, that dinner sounds delish! :)
That's why I've commited myself to at least 10 minutes a day. I find when I know it's only 10 minutes I'm more likely to start (and then most of the time I can just keep going).

Day 2 with Pictures!

Saturday, January 02, 2010

So Day 2 of Dax Moy's Meltdown ( www.londonpersonaltrainingstudio.com ):

First of all, I never posted my starting stats and failed to take pictures yesterday so I took some today. Man, are pictures always a good wake-up call that I have been a bum for a few months. Anyway, here goes:

Also, starting measurements:

Weight: 163.4
thigh (4in above knee) - 17"
thigh (8in above knee) - 19.5"
hips - 40"
belly - 40"
waist - 32"
chest - 33"
boobs - 42"
neck - 12.5"
arm - 11.5"

Okay, so Day 2 going great, had the slightest twinge of a headache, took something, and nothing now. 3/4 workouts down and it's almost dinner time. My shoulders don't ache as much today either. Tomorrow I go shopping to pick up some remaining missing items for my diet, like avocados. I'm going to replace sour cream with guacamole. I also need to make chopped liver tomorrow that I never got to today.

Okay. Going strong. Feeling good.
Onward and upward.

Day 1: Whew!

Friday, January 01, 2010

I am near the end of Day 1 of Dax Moy's ( www.londonpersonaltrainingstudio.com ) Meltdown program. Whew! (as the title says). I did 4 mini workouts today (10-20 min each) targeting pretty much everything, and my shoulders have gotten one heck of a workout. I am going to feel that tomorrow.

I also discovered that if I move quickly up three flights of stairs it takes about 30 seconds and then about 1 min 30 sec to find more stairs, walk down, and find the next flight to go up. Repeat 5-6 times for a 10-12 min interval workout at work.

I'm staying on track with food so far, I think. A little high sodium today because it is my hubby's tradition to have sauerkraut and pork on New Year's Day. Tomorrow I need to make chopped liver and hummus for veggie dips during the week. I still need a snack tonight. I think clementines and nuts, yummy!

Okay. I get to sleep in tomorrow again, yay! Not often that I get to sleep in two days in a row.

Onward and upward.

Sounds great! I wish I could to stair climbing, but unfortunately the stairs in our house are too steep (I'm afraid I'd kill myself!).
Though I could go to the church and go up the tower (unfortunately this would cost me 2 euros :( )

Keep up the great work! :)

Meltdown Madness!

Thursday, December 31, 2009

I'm blogging early today since I'll be out at dinner and a concert later. Happy Early New Year! Unless you are in China, then Happy New Year!

So, starting tomorrow, I am beginning a serious program for January to really get myself on track. It is both diet and exercise, and fits pretty well with what I already do with just a few adjustments.

Anyway it is Dax Moy's 'MELTDOWN program ( www.londonpersonaltrainingstudio.com )

And he's offering the program free, but you have to be serious, follow it, blog about it and keep track of things. I like that right now.

It uses Dax's Elimination Diet (found at the link above) which eliminates wheat (I already don't eat that), dairy (except for live yogurt which is most of my dairy right now), caffeine (just gotta switch to decaf tea, easy), sugar and sweeteners (again, I already try to do that) and processed foods (which I already barely touch). So, other than baking off cheese for a month, the diet part should be easy.

The workouts are going to be tough, but not time consuming. There are 4 10-20 min workouts throughout the day. I already workout every morning and every evening, so I am going to try and add one during work (10 min of interval walking and stair climbing or something) and one right after work. Trying to keep my metabolism sky high all the time.

Anyway, I can't wait, it is going to be awesome. Or tiring and painful. Same thing, right Project Mayhem? Whatever.

Today, I am being mostly great, on track for food, planning on grilled calamari, fish and rice, and a little tiny dessert (cremem brulee or mousse, can't decide!) for dinner out, then nothing but water during the concert and the rest of the evening. Maybe a glass of champagne, but I don't know when we'd do that or where it would come from.

Today, I did 30 min on the bike this morning (while watching ST:TNG, awesome) and already did 1 of 3 4 min. tabata workouts. Will do the next just after 2:30 and the third around 3:45. Maybe will do some stairs. We'll see.

Anway, onward and upward.

I'm very curious about how this program will work. I'm afraid I'd cheat. But I'll look at the link you provided and I'll be cheering you on!
