Out of Practice

Wednesday, December 30, 2009

That's what I am for Project Mayhem challenges, ouch! I did 75 of each dips, push-ups (knees), crunches, and squats, and I am going to hurt tomorrow. I can barely move now without shaking, whew.

Anyway, diet: low-carb, check
exercise: morning abs evening above, check

Tomorrow, I allow myself fruit again ... hooray! and TMBG concert, yay!

Okay. Still feeling good, still going strong.

Onward and upward.

New Year, New Goals ... Just a Bit Early

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

So, one of my goals for the new year is to blog more often about my program. This way, you can all read it and either say "hey, that's great" or "you shouldn't have done that" or "Don't eat those Reese's Cups silly!". It should be fun. Not complex, or required. Just fun and a way to vaguely track myself since it is too stressful right now to actually sparktrack things. Sometimes, I might just pop on and go, today: goals accomplished. Bye, bye. Yup. It could happen.

Anyway, today was a good early start to getting my year in order. I am ending this year slightly heavier than I started, and that doesn't work for me. Therefore, this year I am serious about losing the last 20 pounds. Well, it was 20, now it's a bit closer to 30, but still doable within a year. I also intend to firmly break my "off-diet" time snacking habits, meaning that a few snacks are a-okay, splitting whole bags of chips and pans of coffee cake with hubby, not okay!

So, today I wii jogged 30 min this morning and did bodyweight exercises for about 30 min this evening. I ate low-carb and stuck to my meal eating plan except for 3 extraneous grapes, so that was good. I feel great and still have lots of time before going to bed a little early for my 8 hours. I'm also pretty sure I had about 24 cups of water today. Woohoo!

Onward and outward, all.

Wow ... it's been a while

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Long story short: I have been busy as all get-up lately. However, I've been keeping up on everything except my blog! Thanks Cindy, for challenging me to get on here and communicate though. I still don't have a lot of time, so brief summary of each thing coming up.

Food: I don't track anymore because I'm just OCD enough to have a system that barely changes anymore. Breakfast is the same every day and I love it, I have a snack of yogurt, peanut butter, and fruit, also love that. Lunch is leftovers from dinner, dinners are calorie set, I make 1000 cals worth of dinner, 500 is eaten by my husband, 300 is eaten by me for dinner, and 200 is eaten by me for lunch the next day. My afternoon snack is typically veggie heavy with some kind of protein dip, my evening snack is the only variable, and it depends on my workout and mood. My biggest issues are weekends because I am still a social eater, so Monday's weigh-ins are crummy, but I'm back to losing by Friday, and then up again on Sun/Mon. I think I'm still overall losing very, very slowly, but not gaining overall, so I'll take it.

Exercise: I'm still a nut. I completed C25K, yay! I can now do 30 min runs without stopping. Sometimes it's tough, sometimes easy, but I can do it. I'm cutting running back to two days a week until my 5k on Dec. 5th to not overtax my joints. I've also been doing the 30 Day Shred (my own version, slightly modified from Jillian's version and typically done sans video) about 3-4 days a week. I enjoy it. It's not really hard enough strength training so when the 30 Days of Shred is done I need to go back to Turbulence Training workouts. I exercise every morning and nearly every evening. I rock!

Life: life is busy and a bit stressful, but I'm staying on top of it all. I always seem like I'm a complete mess, but I know how to chill out as well, so it all works out in the end. Overall, I'm mostly pretty happy, and that's what I like.

Ok, that's my life in a nutshell. I should really do this more often so these are shorter. We'll see!

8 Week Battle Before Pics

Here are my before pics. Dude, my belly is annoying. Gotta work on that.

"Don't try and con a con man"

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Tonight's Supernatural quote in honor of Thursday, which is Supernatural night, is by the awesome Bobby Singer. BTW - Dean better seriously redeem himself tonight or I'm going to find him and kick him for being awful to his brother.

Ok, back on track. Tonight, I totally made a vegetarian dinner, and my husband didn't say a word about it. I don't know if he didn't notice or decided to not fuss at me, whatever, I'll take it.

I made a stew of veggies, chickpeas, black beans in a sauce made from red wine, balsamic vinegar, worchestershie and spiced with tarragon, rosemary, sea salt, Mrs. Dash. I served it over polenta made with sharp cheddar, parmesan, and romano cheese. I enjoyed my meal thoroughly, meat or no meat!

This morning I also did a 3-min jog during my C25K training session to We Didn't Start the Fire, it was awesome. I didn't even look at my watch until there were 10 seconds left.

Anyway, I may have gone out for lunch today and had chai and chocolate too, oops. Well, can't win em all. Back on track tomorrow and this weekend.

Sounds like a delicious dinner and creating the recipe on the fly. I admire you for that. DH can do that but mine don't turn out so well.

Great job on the C25K. Keep up the good work. emoticon

Wow! I'll have to build up the nerve to do a vegetarian meal one of these days. My family is the meat and potatoes kind. I'm doing W1D3 today. Good to hear your C25K is going so well!!

On the fly, I usually do, just throw in whatever veggies are in the fridge and whatever sauces/spices appeal to me at the time

That stew sounds so totally awesome! Did you make it up on the fly or did you have a recipe?
