Today was extremely busy at work. Typically that's somewhat good because I don't want to snack during the day. However, I always feel more hungry when I come home afterwards. Fortuntately, there is a load of fresh fruit in my fridge, so I snacked on raspberries and blackberries.

I made an excellent not-too-bad-for-me sweet treat tonight! I mixed one brick of lowfat cream cheese with one tub of Cool Whip Free and fruits: 1 cup blackberries, 1/2 cup each of raspberries and cherries. Mix with hand mixer and freeze, no added sweetener needed. I had just a about 1/4cup tonight with some fresh cherries and cheese and nuts. Perfect!

Me and hubby took a nice walk tonight as well. I'm aiming for another busy day tomorrow, should be fun.

... The amount of work is the same.

Well, I am back to starting another week. I got way off on Sat. For those who haven't heard my story, I drove 45 away to a stranger's house to pick-up some tea from freecycle (technically, it wasn't that far past town where I was going anyway), and then I locked my keys in my running car along with my cell phone and AAA card. I then failed to convince AAA that I had a card, and needed to rely on the kindness of the strangers I was with to drive me to get my spare keys. I also didn't eat all morning, which didn't help. Anyway, so Sat turned into a stress-eating, sugar overload type of mess. Whoops. I came back on Sunday with good diet and walking.

Today was mostly good other than some chocolate I shouldn't have had. It's not that a little bit of chocolate is a problem, half a bar ... yeah, maybe. I did an awesome workout with bodyweight strength and then kickboxing tabatas, lots of sweat. The fact that it's pretty hot here and I'm avoiding turning on the air, not helping the sweat.

Anyway, I'm planning another good day tomorrow, and no massive disasters this weekend. I'm stating that now, because if I say it every day, there's a better chance of me getting it right.

    LOL Ivory! Several yearrs ago one of my girls and I drove to Farmville to look at Prom dresses. We locked the key in the car...and it was RUNNING! We didn't evven realize it until we had completed our shopping and walked back to the car. The shops were closing...Thank GOD I spoke to the right person who set me up with the tow guys there and he did the thing that goes down and unlocks the car...Luckily the Honda has the old fashioned lock thing...we were an hour and half from home!!!

It all settles down in time. :) Way to work it out emoticon

I may have eaten a rather large handful of tortilla chips today, oops. I still am keeping away from midday chocolate. I also enjoyed my building's garden in the nice weather while quickfiring.

There's not much else happening today. Tomorrow is the picnic, ouch. I did make a really nice apple kuchen (gluten free), however I made it with Asian pears. They are flavored somewhat similarly to apples, and work well in baking. However, I have no reason not to be good all weekend, so I should be okay Monday for weigh in.

I still have to workout tonight. Not sure what I'm doing, but I will do 5-10min of core work.

    I had a friend out here who taught me about Asian pears, his mother works in the agricultural department at Rutgers and has helped to create varieties of apples like the honey crisp (look for it, so good!). Anyway, we both determined that Asian pears make good apple substitutes while baking ... oh, and they poach pretty nicely too!

    Ivory, I really admire your knowledge of diet. You have so much more than most in that area. What a blessing. I would never have thought of using Asian Pears in a baking recipe. Of course I have other talents, but not really cooking.

Today was good, although I seemed hungry earlier than usual today. Fortunately, I had to buy new blueberries after work from our local farm, so I had to walk there and back and snacked on a few blueberries on the way to tide me over until dinner. Dinner was an awesome Shepherd's pie.

I have done my workout tonight and I am happy with today. I also talked myself out of chocolate in the middle of the day today. I thought about having it when I was extra hungry, but then I thought that it wouldn't really make me less hungry, I wouldn't actually feel satisfied, and it wasn't worth breaking my goal not to have chocolate before 7pm all week.

Ok, I'm off for tonight.

... itíll break your neck

I took a picture of me this morning, but had no time to upload it yet. I also took a picture of my 11-paper clip chain near my desk that I will use to count down the pounds over the next two months. I will post, no, really!

Today has so far been another good day. Stuck to my packed food. I have a pot-luck tonight where I will need to tread carefully, but I made the dessert and it is a relatively low-sugar carrot-zucchini cake made with coconut, millet, and tapioca flours. No frosting, just a lemon glaze (not too sweet a glaze either!). Anyway, there should be ~8 people and so I should be able to manage having only 1 piece, and if there is leftover, I will freeze it! I should also be able to portion well at the potluck, I'm good when I want to be.

I really enjoy getting back into it. However, I am experiencing bacterial community change digestive issues since I was off diet too long. Essentially, the bugs in my gut adjusted to consuming quick and easy to digest crap for the last few weeks, and now that I want them to digest real plant food with minimal slimy fats, they are protesting. Fortunately, it tends to be in short bursts, and should be completely gone in about 2 days when the new bacterial community that likes healthy food is in place. Then, when i try to eat junk, it will rebel (and I should listen to it!!). Ok. Enough microbiology talk, I do enough of that all day long.

My first workout in ages last night went well. I'm planning to do something tonight, though what I'm not sure yet, maybe just a walk or some bodyweight circuits.

It is 4:41 now, the potluck is meant to start about 5:30, but I suspect will start late. Do I eat my boiled egg and veggies or wait to see if I can make it? Probably should eat it. Ok, bye now.

    I hate it when your stomach complains when you try to change your eating habits and finally start eating right. Those bad guys don't make it easy for the good guys to move in, do they? emoticon. Just make sure to listen to the good guys, because those other guys will just be waiting in the wings to take over again.
