Wake Up Call

Saturday, November 06, 2010

This week my sister had a test done and it was found that she has a colon polyp...basically a mass of cells that don't belong. The kind she has is the more cancerous kind.

This is hereditary and being overweight/bad eating habits/etc doesn't help. She's under 30...and this is only "supposed" to be in people over 50. She goes in on Tuesday for another test where they'll determine if it's cancer or not.

Please, pray for her and my family. We all need God's Peace right now.

I don't really want to say any more...I can't. I'm at a loss for words right now.

Take care

The Ship Is Sailing

Well..here it goes. My first day on Sparkpeople, and my first blog. I'm trying to lose weight...and here's to the final outcome.

As I've been going through this site several emotions have made themselves known to me: sadness, failure, happiness, grateful, strength, courage and HOPE...just to name a few. I'll only focus on the positive ones, I promise. I can do this, and I *will* do this. There's a lot of things out there telling me I can't look pretty, I can't lose weight and I can't be happy. But there are even more things telling me I can. God, for one, will help me through this...as He has helped me through several other things in life.

I have a lot of weight to lose, and I'll eventually get there. Tomorrow, I think I'll do a video-blog...I just can't really get the emotion of what I want to say by typing.

Good luck, everyone, and know that I care for you. Let me know how you're doing, yeah? :)

Peace through Him

Welcome, to sp. When i found this web site , something took over me, i didn't stop for an entire weekend. I haven't stopped since. I am still bouncing around on here looking for groups to belong to. I see you are new and have a world to explore. I think the biggest, is get plenty of rest, drink water and get moving. Set small goals that work in your schedule. Don't overwhelm yourself or set yourself up for failure. Be kind to yourself and not so rigid. I will add you as my friend and travel on your journy with you.

Hi, must say that I enjoyed reading your blog, A very open and honest one.
We all have doubts about this, but I can assure you that it can be done.
You will never have a better chance of keeping things in line than by being here. This site is full of useful information and guides as well as the members who, are truly wonderful with their support and advice.
Take one day at a time, and don't worry if you have a day that doesn't seem to go right. We all have them, and when we do, we move on learning from it, brushing ourselves down and then taking the next step.
Times will be hard but, let me reassure you that there will also be days where you feel like you could fly like a bird. You feel that good!
Take these days, remember these days, use these days when the going gets tough. They will help carry you. Carry you to the place where you would like to be right now.
It can be done. It took me 48 years just to realise that it could, and now I am such a different person to what I was that I don't recognise myself sometimes...............it's a nice feeling.
To feel freedom from weight is just great!
If you wish, you may add me as a friend, and you can write me once a week or however often you feel, to share your journey and experiences.
Good luck and don't be scared, it'll be fine!
Chris.
