Frustration

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

I haven't written lately. I'm still trying to get the hang of all this. I feel like I should be much farther than I am. I'm just struggling with trying to do this all perfectly. My doom is perfectionism. Right now I can't find the recipe builder on this site and it's making me nuts. I will find it, I know...but I want that, but I guess I'm just wanting instant gratification on this. I shouldn't and I know that. I'm just so tired of feeling this way. I'm so tired of looking in the mirror and being disgusted by what I see. Feeling ashamed. Some days I feel good and like I'm on the right track and other days I just feel like I can't do this. And then I read all this stuff about how dieting doesn't work, nothing works. Well that's just peachy! But I don't want a diet. I want to change my way of living. Forever. That's not dieting is it? I don't think it is. (Sigh)...I don't know. I guess I've just had a bad week. And I think I'm bloated, that time of month I guess. Which will just up my scale this week, dang it. Which means I'll spend more time beating myself up for failing by adding weight instead of losing it. That's another thing, I haven't been regular since January! Constant PMS with no follow through! So I guess I'm just on edge to top it all off! Sorry for the venting....

Give yourself a break sweetie! If the scale isn't budging after a couple of weeks, and things aren't fitting better (keep in mind if you're working out you will be adding muscle which does weigh more than fat so measure inches too) tweak your plan a bit. If you blow it on a meal or a day start over with the VERY NEXT one. Don't let it get to you. Know that if you stick with it you WILL get to your goal. It may not be as fast as you want, but its a learning process. The only way you won't eventually make it is if you give up. No matter how fast it goes, you're doing something good for yourself and it will get easier with a little time.

Ok so I've settled on a diet plan. I'm going to combine WW and SP and eat slower and sensibly! I tried one of the enchilada recipes from SP and OMG it was sooo yummy! I'm looking forward to more recipes! The scale says I'm down 7 pounds! A good start I think!

Still Figuring it out

Friday, April 13, 2007

I'm still trying to figure out exactly how I'm going to do this. I was all hyped up about Weight Watchers. But honestly I'm frustrated with it. I want to meetings. Need the meetings. But the Core Plan..no way I can pull that off. And the Flex Plan..I'm just frustrated with that. I canít find the foods I eat. I eat grilled, NOT BBQed, chicken that is fresh not frozen. All I can find is Grilled Chicken Breast, Frozen! Grrrr. So Iím think that Iím going to use the tracker on this site, or at least try it out, and then attend the meetings. I mean I donít suppose I have to follow their rules. This weight loss journey is about me and what I need. Not about them and what they say I need to do.

They don't like you to know this I expect, but 1 WW pt = 50 calories. Some say that fiber and carbs etc factor into it, but I've been eating their frozen meals from the grocery store, and alot of the other stuff I buy from the store as part of my plan has points on it, and if you look, for every 50 calories there's a point. ;-)

You need to take care of yourself and do it your way. I have also used WW to lose weight but prefer to use Spark People for keeping track of what I do and eat. Good luck... you can do it :)
