Turned off my electronics last night 9 hours before my wake up time. My husband remarked how I woke up with a smile! Getting more sleep is helping.

Today I walked 3.11 miles outside on hills and did 30 minutes yoga.

The walk was wonderful. Aromas of magnolia, roses and honeysuckle. Many other flowers blooming, too. Especially iris.

And I found a quarter. emoticon

I met my goal last night of turning off electronics 9 hours before my wake up time and doing my bedtime routine. FitBit says I slept for 7:35 hours. I did feel better when I woke up this morning (with no alarm!).

Also met my goal yesterday of tracking everything.

It's supposed to get to 89 degrees today, so I won't be continuing my previous plan of doing chores in the morning and exercising in the afternoon to offset my afternoon sleepiness. Too hot to exercise walk in the afternoon. Mornings, it is.

    For a long time I used to exercise as soon as the gym opened. I'd go to sleep in my workout clothes and it was totally about not giving myself time to figure out what I was doing.

Week In Review

Successes and misses this week!

Let's start with misses.

Goal: Fruit 7 days. Close one. Ate fruit 6 days.
Goal: Track EVERYTHING 7 days. I tracked everything 4 days. I did track all days, but 3 days I didn't track it all.

Successes:

Goal: Blog/journal 7 days. Achieved! Reward is visit to a coffeeshop to knit or art journal.

Goal, two together: Walk 6 days and circuit training 3 days. Achieved! Reward is a set of watercolor pencils.

I definitely got myself out there walking (on hills, my neighborhood is very hilly) when I didn't want to, due to my goal this week. So it did help.

COMING WEEK:

I want to do better on tracking. I know tracking is key. I'm going to simplify this week. Ideally I would ONLY focus on tracking. But I have another issue...I am tired! I've been battling fatigue a lot. I'm making sure to take my iron and Vit D and my latest blood test was normal. So I'm going to focus on my sleep schedule. I need to solve this.

Goal: turn off lit electronics and go upstairs 9 hours before I have to wake up. It takes me awhile to get ready and wind down. I need at least 8 hours of sleep. I'm going to use my FitBit to track sleep this week. I think that lit electronics keep me awake longer. I switched to an unlit bottom of the line Kindle reader and I get tired of reading and fall asleep much faster. Reward: trip to the botanical garden to art journal.

Goal: TRACKING. Track it all, track it all, TRACK IT ALL. If I meet this goal, my reward will be something I really want. A Happy Girl run skort from Skirt Sports. I already have one and it is awesome! It's the longest run skirt I have found. It's 16.5 inches long in front and 17.5 in back.

I did go down a pound this week which is a minor miracle and may be a fluke based on the night out I had with hubby and not tracking everything.

    Are you drinking enough water? I often feel fatigued when I'm mildly dehydrated.

Great job on the weight loss! I know how hard it is for you.

You Play, You Pay

Whew! I had a wonderful time Thursday night going out with my hubby to dinner, to see a movie, and then a music show that we happened to hear while walking back to the car.

But I paid for it yesterday!

The reason people my age don't go out partying much is because we are slower to recover. Ha.

Felt like a SLUG yesterday. At least I didn't get a migraine.

I decided if I was going to sit here feeling miserable from a hangover, I could go outside and get some exercise in while feeling miserable. So I did.

I walked 2.20 miles on hills (FitBit equivalent 26 flights of stairs). Then I came inside and did a 20 min strength DVD with a strength tube focused on core, then I did 15 min restorative yoga with a Rodney Yee program.

I took a nap, and I went to bed early.

I had home cooking.

Late at night I did eat the half a veggie burger and few fries left over from the bacchanal the night before. OH WELL.

Will post tomorrow about which goals I met this week, and which ones I missed. I did earn some rewards!

Missed Some Goals Yesterday

Last night my husband and I planned to go see a movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel. It was excellent.

He invited me to dinner beforehand, and I went. And didn't track! And went over calories for sure.

Plus I forgot to eat a fruit.

:)

I had a wonderful time but I'll miss out on some of the rewards I had set up this week for those two things.

After the movie, we were walking to the car downtown and we heard some music. We went towards it and wound up in the outside courtyard of a music venue listening to a terrific band. We had a great time.

Back tracking today.
