Hooray, I was able to walk 3.1 miles on the elliptical today!!!!!!

Sunday, July 08, 2012

Today was the first day I was able to walk 3.1 mile on the elliptical trainer in 45 minutes. I didn't believe that I could do it, especially I was not able to beat the time from last Thursday, where I was able to walk 2.34 miles within 30 minutes, but I didn't give up.

I am starting to feel so much better since I am going to the gym and hopefully soon I will be strong enough to be able to stand on my bad leg long enough to step up and down stairs again. Wish me luck.........

mind over body or stubbornes over body?

Saturday, September 03, 2011

Today I was walking much more than usually. It sounds great, but my problem is still, that I only can walk with a walker. Usually I see people walking just a little bit with a walker (i often walk little bit but often), but today I was more stubborn than usually. I walked over 1 mile! My legs fatigued but I told myself that I only get better the more I walk. The heat was extreme, but I kept going, I WANT TO GET BETTER! Things were going through my mind like how silly I look, but I didn't really care.
You might think that 1 mile is nothing, but for me it is almost everything, especially after I was basically bed-ridden for around 8 months. But I can hardly wait until I can drive my truck again! I know I can do it!

Our new challenge

Thursday, September 01, 2011

As of September our team has a new challenge of trying to get a few extra points together. I don't know how you feel, but personally I love challenges. Maybe this is one of the reasons I became a truck driver and I am proud of it.
I am challenging myself to beat my monthly points this month. Especially in my fitness training I am planing at least 5 minutes longer in walking, strength training and endurance every time. I know I can do it!

I'm trying to figure out how to make use of anything here that is offered, but it doesn't seem to work out, because I may get to come and I may not, I'm back at the house and have been for a few day this is why I have been able to come everyday. I need to work this out. But I have challenged myself this month to do better with the spark points, and to loose at least 5 lbs. So let's see what happens.

Oh for sure you can do it. I struggle with trying to use the fittness tracker,as I'm not sure how to ennter this information correctly. with the exeercises that I actually do, so I have not been keeping up with it. When I figure it out I will or if you can help me with this let me know.

I invested in myself to maybe a crazy idea

Friday, August 12, 2011

I was watching myself how I react sometimes around food, especially when I crave for something to eat without knowing really I want. So often I went into the refrigerator and munch on not always the best food for me.
Calling me maybe crazy, I thought about putting my healthy veggies somewhere else, where I don't need to open the fridge.
So I bought a countertop wine-chiller fridge with glass doors. I put my favorite veggies ( 2 heads of salad, 3 cucumbers, 3 bell peppers and 2 celeries) in it. It's close to my eye-height and with the glass doors and the option of the inside light I am reaching into this direction when I have my munchies.
I am so happy about my maybe crazy idea. Now I have an easier way to find my better choices.

what a fantastic idea! I don't have room on my countertop, but I'll definitely reconsider and try to move stuff around to do this too!

I have a wonderful and supporting family

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

I have a really wonderful family. I had my Birthday yesterday and my family knows that I am trying to take control of a healthier lifestyle. So instead of a calorie laden birthday cake I received a beautiful birthday cake made out of flowers, which a florist delivered. My other daughter knew that sometimes I became aggravated of my old run down doctors scale, so she handed me a nice sophisticated scale, which measures beside my weight also my BMI, water% and bone density.
Now I shouldn't have absolutely no reason to fail on my journey to a healthier life.

I am here for you. We are indirect a family too. A family of professional Drivers, who have to work hard by paying steadily attention around our big rigs while we are driving, keeping the deadlines, to keep the customers happy. Not to mention that we have to stay on top of our log-books. Now on top of everything we try to change our lifestyle for the better in which we loose some unwanted weight.
But our Team/Family is strong. We can do it!. I feel like one of the Musketeers (one for all and all for one) LOL.
