To be here today and feel so blessed

Wednesday, September 02, 2009

On Friday Aug. 28th at noon time, I was enroute to see my new grandson, so excited because I was going to HELP my daughter-in-law send out birth announcements and get to spend the whole day with them. It's about a 30 mile drive. 20 minutes into my trip I was involved in an car accident where I was REAR ENDED and everything happened so fast. It was one of the LONGEST day of my life. My daughter-in-law, grandson and my husband came to my rescue and I was just overwhelmed with gratefulness that they were there to comfort me and make sure that all the logistics were taken care of. I was in NO SHAPE to handle those affairs.
It was that evening at bedtime that the reality of the whole day, HIT ME. The outcome of the accident could of been different. I realize that I was able to be home with my family where I belonged, see my grandson grow, and just be part of LIVING LIFE.
Normally I don't BLOG much but I felt so compelled to blog today and that I am here to live life to the fullest.

It's also so strange that I have been MIA on SPARK PEOPLE for the last few days and felt OUT OF MY NORM routine, but you know, I HAVE THE REST OF MY LIFE to keep coming
back here for posting, blogging and staying in touch with everyone.

THIS THOUGHT KEEP GOING THROUGH MY MIND: I AM HERE TODAY AND I FEEL SO BLESSED.

Irene, I just saw this Blog dated back in September. I am so sorry that you were in a car accident. I am so happy that you are alive to enjoy your life and your family. Believe me, I understand the feeling of being Blessed with me having cancer this year and getting healed from it. Also, I was laid off from my job in July but I feel blessed that I worked with the children as long as I did. YOU ARE BLESSED! I am so glad that you are OK.
GOD BLESS!
Louise

It's an ongoing ritual for me!!!

Tuesday, April 07, 2009

I'm 51 years of age and have been working out since I was 17. It has been such a part of my life, that when I don't work out I FEEL GUILTY. I also get a feeling that something is just NOT right. I just feel so much better when I exercise, it helps with staying on TOP of things.
Recently while on vacation, I didn't workout for a week and it felt like I had been gone from it for weeks. For me, it's like brushing/flossing your teeth, It's a daily ritual and it helps me in so many ways. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Greetings,

I am getting ready to start working out again.

On one of your postings you mentioned you worked out at a 24 hour gym. Do you find that you work out more because you can do whenever you want to? Have you ever worked out alone at night? Did you ever feel nervous working out?

My gym would not have all the amenities that your gym has. What has been more important to you, amenities or convenient location?

what works for me is some protein and fibre. I'm not allowed wheat or too many starches so I tend to have eggs or fish with steamed vegetables or salad.
