Crazy schedule!

Sunday, October 14, 2012

My work schedule was pretty crazy today and I am completely out of whack! It felt like all I was doing was eating, but I think I did pretty well after work. I was either eating or I spent some time outside working on my yard! It was such a beautiful day and I didn't want to spend the entire day inside. My yard turned out pretty good for a make shift landscaping project. There are a lot of things to do yet (garage or shed?) Deck. But at least there is something out there! Even put out a couple of our halloween directions!

Back to work in a few minutes. emoticon

Question of the day...

Friday, October 12, 2012

Question posed by Sparkcoach today: What small steps can you make today to end the day with satisfaction?

I can track my food.

I will complete my sparkcoach assignments.

Drink 8 glasses of water.

Do some work in craft room today.

They would make me feel satisfaction! I am working 10 hours today and will be getting off at 5 pm and going back in from midnight to 11 am so I don't anticipate getting much done after work today except sleep. On Sunday I will work midnight to 10:30 am and then I will work my regular shift of 6 am to 4:30 on Monday, OT on Wednesday of 6:30 am to 11:30 am and back to normal on Friday and Saturday. It should be interesting.

On Tuesday, I go back "home" for my daughter's dr. appt.

I am not sure when I will have time to unpack. We better not have anything planned for this next Thursday.

Also, on the home front: Driveway finally poured and we can finally park on it on Wednesday! So thrilled.

Dad in recovery

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Heard from my mom this morning and my Dad is back home and doing well. Turns out he had a lot more cancer and 3 hours of reconstructive surgery. He is in good spirits and a good sense of humor. Thank you all for your prayers! They do work! emoticon

Today was spent exploring my new city visiting some stores, downtown and returning some items to the store that we didn't need. It is full of thrift stores, but instead of buying - we dropped off stuff. husband bought a "suit" for his zombie look. We will be going "home" on the 27th for the first annual Zombie Parade. We have always had a Zombie Walk through downtown, but now it has morphed into a parade. I still need to put together my look.

I wasn't home much today because of exploring. Tomorrow it is back to work...

I will keep your dad in my thoughts and prayers.

Sounds like you are having fun exploring your new city. The Zombie parade sounds like fun. We have a Halloween parade here but I don't think it is as fun as yours sounds. It is mostly just local high school bands and cheerleading squads not even dressed up. But it is fun for the kids.

You will have to explore the thrift stores next time. I love doing that. So much fun!!

Have a great day!!

Rough day...

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

My dad had what we thought was routine surgery. However, he is now spending the night in the hospital and will be in a lot of pain as they cut cancer out of the side of his face and down his neck. My mom is having a difficult time with this and I am glad my youngest sister will be able to spend some time with her. The surgery included reconstructive surgery, which we were not even aware of. Any prayers, positive thoughts and energies would be greatly appreciated.

We have steps!

Tuesday, October 09, 2012

This morning I told my husband that we need to pick up lumber to make some steps so we could start using our front door. Nevermind that we have no idea what we are doing, but I told him that we could figure it out. Anyway, off to the store to find someone to tell us what we need and we bought it, loaded it up and brought it home.

I had a meeting to go to so I left right away but before I made it to my meeting, my husband calls and said that his friend was going to come over with some tools and help. I am such a believer in a high power providing what we need. Apparently our higher power decided we needed someone that had some knowledge in building steps. LOL We are definitely blessed and now we have steps and they are solid, look great, and we can use them when we build our deck next year!

Still unpacking and slowly getting where I want to be. Worked on my bathroom and craft room. Want to spend a little more time on sparkpeople getting some inspiration, but still have a crazy schedule.

Thanks for all of the support and hope to return the favor when I am settle.
