visit to Washington

Tuesday, April 05, 2011

I went to visit my daughter in Washington this past weekend ,took lots of pix
the cherry bossoms are all coming out,and the Tulip trees are blooming too
We had a great time walking about in the city and down by the waterfront.
She also got me a 3day pass at her gym,so we worked out together, fun fun fun
Ah yes and we ATE also emoticon a lot of good food.
Sunday we went shopping at an outlet ,i think we wore out our shoes, and feet, that shopping trip was harder than our work out. emoticon
After shopping we went for a marroccan dinner at Casablanca great food, great atmosphere too..

Best of all got to spend time with "the kid" Great fun and no weight gain.

went to Publix ,yesterday

Thursday, January 27, 2011

I went to Publix yesterday, Dear Old Hhubby needed Ice cream for his morning shake.
(you will not beleive what he has for breakfastlooks like 200000 cals.in a tall glass)
No fat on that man,
Anyway, i wanted my fav. chocolate Lindt's dark jalopeno chocolate. none to be found
so cheese cake was 2nd choice, ( emoticonsweet tooth kicking in) well they had that a 400calories per slice, Even my tooth said WOAH oh no you dont.Ii settled for a small
elephant ear, ate only 1/2. emoticon
While i was ordering this I notices something called Granola Bark and it looked yummy
too.
Iit has granola, almonds raisins chocolate chips and some more seeds and gooey to hold it together, well it was good too.
I am not going to publix again emoticon
It is not too good for the waist line. Maybe duck-tape over my mouth will work? emoticon

hee! I haven't been to Publix but it sounds challenging! My boyfriend eats a lot of things I don't eat too....and sometimes when I'm around him I'm tempted. I just got back from 2.5 months in Stockholm and now I'm getting back to Sparking. Have a great day! Chocolate is just fine in moderation, so enjoy!

Maybe next time you can decide in advance what you will get.
Have your initial item (which was a good one - yum! Jalapeņo dark chocolate), then have a plan B just in case... And if they don't have item A or B, get a bottle of juice!

If you plan in advance, you have better chances of keeping your sweet tooth in check.

Certainly applies to me .
I have too many watches, some people collect shoes, i have a thing for watches.
I decided to sell one of them (did not wear it much)
Got contacted by WATCHBROKERS.COM they could sell my watch on consignment,
Seemd like a good idea,I was strapped for time,December in retail will do that to you.
I checked them out and could not find anything bad about them (should have been more thorrough) emoticon
All said and done I mailed my watch off, OH OH you are thinking now.
Well I am thinking that too, I have e-mailed the company and also the contact i have there daniel.alam@watchbrokers.com and guess what ,,,,No reply offcourse. emoticon

It was not one of my more expencive watches, but I hate to be so dumb, I know better, would have done more research if it had not been december and work overload.

So I am out a watch, do not exactly know what my next step should be, but i would like to prevent any other "fool" to be fooled by these people.
Any ideas?

I am sorry to hear this... Sometimes it makes me sad sometimes angry and often ashamed how "Human" beings treat each other. Why steal? why not make an honset living... very sad... I hope that person gets what is comming to him/her.

Well that's a shame. Though I really don't think you were being stupid, after all you checked them out. Posting about it on the net is a good idea because that way if someone else googles they might find this info though I don't know wether your sparkblog would be visible to someone not logged in on spark.

I just googled "report bad internetshops" and hit on www.ripoffreport.com/. I think if you post your experience there, it should be visible to everyone googling the site name while looking for infos. that is, if the infos SARAHSMC22 found don't help.

And I really like that one of your first thoughts is "how to I keep others from being scammed" ! that's a great attitude.

Not that stupid, What I do nowadays is to send a request in my networks and ask if there is anyone who has good experience from the business I want to do. Recommendations seems to be trustworthy if the experience is not too old.

There are websites where you can post the information so that it pops up if people do a search. Check the company's complaint record with your local consumer affairs department or state attorney general.

You are NOT stupid. These companies know how to influence people and lead them to believe they are legitimate.

I am so sorry you made a mistake. We all make mistakes and the only time when someone is stupid about it is if they repeat that same mistake. We all live and learn and you have learned so therefore you are NOT stupid! Hugs my friend and again I am sorry. Let this be ammo for you to workout a little bit harder this week, then there will be a plus side. emoticon

who, me confused?????

Saturday, December 04, 2010

i saw an ad the oter day on this site, about tee shirts and other clothes with fruit and veggie prints has any one of you the link?

I am also a bit confused (what else is new emoticon)

I have changed gyms and the precor or elliptical is different, when it calculates calories
it used to be 35 min and 345-350 cal.
now it is 35 min 125 cal.
and i need to change my calorie burning but cant get there either. emoticon

Getting a pul;se monitor is a great idea. I have heard the the calorie calculations on gym machines are not very accurate. I usually just enter the activity in my log and let SP figure the calories!

Can you get a pulse monitor? If you track your own pulse changes, to know when you are at some % of your maximum pulse, then maybe you can estimate your calorie burning better than whatever the machine indicates.

ESPERI 12/5/2010 2:47AM

The same thing happened to me. When we bought a new elliptical it showed only 25% of the calories burned compared to the old one.
emoticon
It was really irritating until I stopped looking at it. I tried to work as hard as did on the other one and concluded that the results would be the same whatever the display said! Now the displayīs broken anyway and I only use the tracker here for that.
Makes it harder to know what youīve really burned though...

I too need to change the settings and donīt understand how. The foodtracker tells me that I eat too much and the fitnesstracker that I have to eat more if Iīm going to train this much. And yes itīs confusing!

Have a lovely sunday! emoticon

Hmm, what a mean thing to burn less for the same effort...

If I google around it says that you lose 80-100 calories per ten minutes if you walk – ah but you mean that you havenīt been able to program that thing right, thatīs why itīs showin less... but as you know how it worked with the old one you can do some sort of average counting without that thing measuring... I will change batteries in the training bike today becasue it shows calories burned to although not so sophisticated mor like an estimation.
