Our daughter paid for us to get help with our rottweiler, Princess. Tomorrow the trainer will come to our house and teach us so that all of us will be consistent with the dog.
I am looking forward to it and thank the Lord for the warm weather this late in November so that I can be outside with the dog and not be cold.
As I sit writing this tonight, I think of Tim McGraw's song, If You're Reading This. I think back to some of the fellows that were shipping out to go to Vietnam. I was a WAF (women in the Air Force). Some of us would get cake mixes and have some one bake them into sheet cakes, then cover large pieces of cardboard with aluminum foil, put several sheet cakes together to make one large square or rectangular cake, frost and decorate them and load them with candles. Then it would be carried into a room at the club and we would have a farewell party. All of us knew that we might not see each other again and celebrating together was important.
I had an address book with addresses from kids at two summer camps where I was a counselor, from friends in the Air Force. At one point when I was in the service and had married and lived off base, I had three dogs and the dogs chewed up my address book which was part of a desk set. I lost all of those addresses.
I married and left that base before they came home from Vietnam.
Today I also think of the mementos left at The Wall in Washington, D. C. They are collected and I think kept at The Smithsonian Institute. I looked online tonight at some pictures of things left there, read a few of the letters that were put on the internet from The Wall.
I am glad that war is over and realize there is another generation dealing with those same feelings. God bless them and bring them home safely and be with their families and give them comfort.

When I wake up, I am hungry. I have to take my thyroid pill on an empty stomach (per doctor's instructions) and then wait an hour before taking the rest of my medications and having breakfast. I keep a piece of scrap paper with my pills, write down the time when I take the thyroid pill, set a timer for an hour and find something else to do while I wait out the time.
I saw this video the other day and it reminded me of how I feel during that hour. Enjoy!
Now you know why I am on Spark People.

Our daughter sent us a check to pay to have Princess trained. I set it up so the trainer will be training both me and my husband. Saturday we will begin, Lord Willing.
I saw pieces of plastic in the carpet day before yesterday and then saw the handle to our son's razor. Princess had chewed it to pieces. I finally found the piece with the razor blades in it yesterday and vacuumed the main level of the house today. This dog will grab stuff as she goes by it and she is so quick that you have to be watching her to notice that she has done something. She will hold the item in her mouth until you aren't paying attention, then begin chewing it to pieces. We give her beef-flavored rawhide bones and she can chew one up in a day. I will trade a toy if she tries to chew it up for a rawhide bone, but she sure keeps me on my toes. Over half of Cinnamon's basket of toys are gone because of Jaws.
Cinnamon's nub would wag so fast when she got a toy and she took care of them. She would greet us when we came in the house with a toy and then want us to play by chasing her as she pranced around with it and play growled.
I have begun using all of my trash cans again and when I find that Princess has been in one (there will be trash confetti all over the floor), I take the trash can and hold it near her face and take a flyswatter and slap it on a flat surface to make a loud slapping noise, then say, "No!" She got in the kitchen trash last Saturday and got paper towels out that bacon had been put on and shredded them all over the living room along with the package the bacon came in. My husband and son made breakfast and didn't watch her. They both got up early. My husband went and got a load of wood and our son took a test to see what his strengths were in for college. I don't know if he can bypass some courses because of the test results.
I vacuumed today and she only tried to go after the vacuum once. She will run at it and bite it and it isn't easy vacuuming with a rottweiler charging the vacuum.
My skin is almost back to normal where I had the bite, it was the color of hamburger and the bite marks looked white. I had one day where I felt sick, but now I am doing fine.
Thanksgiving is coming in a few weeks and I am looking forward to it. Turkey is one of my favorite meats, but I like food period! Our son will be here this year so that will be good too. I have been working with Princess to have her sit in the doorway to the kitchen while we eat. She was getting under the table, then mashing my legs against the table leg as she went by my chair and the other leg (it's a round table) trying to go from person to person to beg for food or to get anything that fell onto the floor.
When she sees anyone eating, she wants to give you her paw or speak to earn a food reward. She has also started to bark now when she hears someone out front.
Our camera is broken. I have missed getting pictures of her lying on my husband while he is sitting in the recliner or up on the sofa when it is chilly.
I know if we don't do something to get her trained, I expect her to die young from running away and going into traffic or ingesting something. I am sure glad I found the razorblades from our son's razor. I think this dog is part goat, lol.

Today I am not feeling well. It is 2:27 PM and I am hoping that whatever is going on will leave. Digestive problems and nausea or bubble, bubble, toil and trouble, take your pick, lol.
I just went to the basement and made a fire in the wood stove. The house is not cold, but I am. It is rainy here today.
I think I was bitten by a spider last week. I have a red mark about an inch long and there are two dots. It has been itchy, but today I caught myself scratching it and put Neosporin on it. This was the first I have done anything to it other than wash it with soap and water.
I have little to write about. I am eating food a little high in calories because of not feeling well and staying hydrated.
Princess is being good so far. I did come out of the bathroom and found her on the bed with her head on the pillow. I think she might have been chilly from being outside.
