"Fahrenheit 451"

Could a book about censorship/banning books really be banned?

Enter "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury. The book has been banned by the Mississippi School District (1999). It's also No. 69 on the American Library Association's list of top banned/challenged books from 2000 to 2009.

scary..

foot in mouth or knife in back (2015)

Thursday, September 23, 2010

i said something in a confrence call today. i meant is as an acknowledgement to another team and we were sorry to see them go and that i was hoping my location did as good as a job with our limited training. In hind sight i wish i didn't say it, becasue the other team took it as meaning that my location did not want the jobs, would not do them and are not able to do our current workload,

the line they took the most out of contect was when i said we are so busy "firefighting " that training is being canceled and it is not getting better. I almost wanted to say

within 10 minutes of that meeting my director - (supervisor's manager' s boss, quire escalated) needed to talk to me. I had an email and a voice mail in that time. 10 Minuites! Someone at the other site had to of left the meeting to go talk to his director for this to happen. I feel like i was being tattled on! When she asked why they thought these things, i was shocked. i wanted to ask whose butt they pulled that definition out of, but i carefully explained my side instead. Total deer in the headlights feeling. hours later i am still not feeling confident.

I hope that nips this whole issues in the bud. i contacted 3 supervisors aboot training improvements and nothing happened. why the director was never told just shows me how people don't care or are really busy.

I learned to now compliment other locations going through lay offs. it won't make them feel better and gives them a way to try to hurt you. Either way, i feel betrayed because no one took the time to follow up with me personally. they just went above me by 4 layers of management. I feel like a chump.

Control over my response

Thursday, September 23, 2010

Lately i have felt like a lot of things ae out of my control: work, policy, governement, taxes, mandatory fees, stuff breaking, certification issues...

but i all of a sudden found myself thinking that i do control me and how i respond to problems. I do have some emotional eating issues, but i can learn about them and teach myself to respond in better ways.

Trying to controling other people does not work and leaves me high and dry.

It will take time, practicing willpower, accepting myself and persistance in reaching my goals.

emoticonThe Bible says there is no need for worry as worry is a waste of time, God never leaves you high and dry.

I always turn it over to prayer but if you are not a Christian I would recommend breathing, Tony Robbins uses a 4 breath method and chants as he exhales...

I love my life

Just stick with your goals and spend time on what you CAN control, YOU are a winner, unique and BEAUTIFUL!

    Yes.

I'll paraphrase something His Holiness the Dalai Lama said, which I fall back on many times every day.

"If you are doing everything within your control to change a situation, there is no need to worry. If you cannot do anything to change a situation, there is still no need to worry."

In other words: Work on what's within your control, and let the rest go. We cannot control others, only ourselves. We can be mindful of how we interact with them, so as not to provoke them--but we cannot control their reactions, only our actions and reactions to them.

You CAN do this.
