1 stupid thing at a time

people were asking me questions and i was ignoring someone because i did not want to get into it with them. I could have responded but i figure talking on the phone (when i was on hold) would make that person think i was too busy.

i just have to be careful so i don't tell the wrong person i can only do 1 stupid thing at a time.

blown off or lied too by HR

There are some changes at work and our leadership has been cryptic at best. I asked for clarity from HR and said i was concerned about a process that there are rumors about.

The response told me i should know better (came across as condescending) then to listen to rumors, blew off my concern and then gave me an incorrect response. I know it was wrong because i found something in the employee handbook.

So i am now wondering was i simply blown off and they did not want to look it up and gave an answer that i want to hear or did she just lie.

I am not sure if i need to talk to a rep at corporate office communication rep to get facts in writing or a lawyer. i am nut sure if they are doing anything illegal, but the best case scenerio is they are being lazy and jerking us around so they have an excuse to lay us off or make us pay for our own training.

    What an arrogant response from HR ,surely they owe you a better explanation. I am sorry to hear you are getting treated so poorly by people who should know better.

Great movie. as i was watching it i started realizing how often we take our friends and family for granted. I felt bad for the main character, because when he started doing small tasks for his wife, she though he wanted something rather than he was trying to change how he treated her. I thought of how many things my hubby does for me and what i do for him.

the movie was a great encouragement for people going through a rough patch or people that just want to think of how to avoid them.

starting a business

when i was a kid (about 10) my friend and i talked about starting a buisness. 22 years later, she remembered.

i guess i want to be open to opportunity, but even my father -in-law talked about starting a business and i don't think i will have the necessary desire to do that. i had an opportunity several years ago and i have learned that i do not have the desire.

i work to live and do not define myself by my title.

I have seen to many people loose the important things in life (spouse, friends, relationships with children) because they put work first. i have also worked with dirtbags who would stab their parents in the back if they could get 1 more promotion. As long as i get a fair wage, and i have a job where i can still look myself in the eye at the end of the day, That is what matters.

that is the most important to me.

There is a song called $5 fine for whining by chris ledoux. i heard it and thought it was cool. i'll admit i complain a lot and sometimes it is whiny but i am working on learning how to do something about it or let it slide. I'd like to but this quote on my desk at work.
