Keeping track of my BLC15 Week #2 Weekend Challenge - Sunday

Sunday, January 16, 2011

It was a lovely warm morning and my SIL walked with me around the park for 50 min. I did stretches at the end. In the afternoon did my ST - 20 minute Resistance Band Workout. I really like doing it!
For dinner we went to an Italian restaurant in South Yarra to celebrate my son's and my birthday with DD and her husband and sister in law. Had a nice meal but no dessert and stayed in my calorie range again. emoticon
Tracked my nutrition, so another 4 points for today!

Challenge #2 - Day 1 of Bootcamp.

Keeping track of my BLC15 Week #2 Weekend Challenge - Saturday

Saturday, January 15, 2011

This morning I went for a walk with my SIL and got 55 min of cardio. This evening we went to dinner with friends to celebrate my birthday. I did well, calorie wise. Had a main course of swordfish and tossed salad with a glass of sparkling wine. Didn't have dessert, just a skinny cappucchino. I even stayed within calorie range for the day. emoticon
Tracked my nutrition so got 4 points for the day!

Challenge #2 - Day 7 of Bootcamp plus 30 min cardio.

It was a nice sunny day and no more rain! I hope the same thing is happening all over Queensland.

Keeping track of my BLC15 Week #2 Weekend Challenge - Friday

Friday, January 14, 2011

This weekend's challenge is much simpler and easier than last weekend's.
For the second weekend challenge of BLC15, the Jade Dragons and the Onyx Outlaws are going to get back to basics with tracking. This might be a refresher for some or brand new for others, but hopefully the flexibility of this challenge will encourage you to START here with your fellow teammates.

Each team member will earn 1 point for each meal tracked per day, plus 1 point for snacks (or all other non-meal food and drinks) for a maximum of 4 points per day, or 16 for the full 4-day challenge. Anyone who tracks for all 16 “meals” earns an extra 4 bonus points for an overall maximum of 20. Points are awarded for tracking (which includes weighing and measuring) but not staying in your range. If you stay in your range that’s great, but for this challenge you will earn points just for tracking. If you don't use SP to track your food that's OK, track your meals/snacks as you normally do and still earn the same points for your team.

I am glad that the points are awarded just for tracking and not staying in range. I'll be going out to dinner tomorrow night with friends to celebrate my birthday and then going out again on Sunday night with the family to celebrate my son's and mine birthdays. We always celebrate them together, usually on the 17th because it's in the middle but this year it's on the 16th because it's a Sunday.

I got 4 points for today.

Challenge #2 - Day 6 video and at least 30 min cardio for Bootcamp Challenge.

It's been raining all morning but in the afternoon it stopped so I went by train to the city and after finishing my errands I met DH at 3pm for coffee. While waiting for him I got a 45 min walk around the city. We even got some sunshine this afternoon, first time in over 3 days and it's SUMMER here, lol. I think it stopped raining in Queensland too and now they have all that clean up to do. emoticonWhat a mess the floods left!

Let's hear it for out teams, yay! I think our teams were smart to have something like this over the weekend because on Shabbos I try to track but kind of fail. Now I have something to work on over the weekend. I hope everything is well where you are at and everyone is safe. Have a good weekend!

Had a chance to have a walk today.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

As lots of my friends know we've had lots and lots of rain falling all over the country and especially Queensland. The devastating floods there are just unbelievable. The rains have been coming for the past couple of weeks and the waters have nowhere to go, just overflow their river banks. Even when the rains stop it will take a week or more before people can get back to their homes, that is, if their homes are still standing where they left them.

Melbourne is 2000 km/ 1500 miles south of the devastated area so we are lucky not to have the floods. For the past couple of days we've had rains but this morning it was dry so I got my walk around the park. It rained again this afternoon but not too much.

We are being told that the recovery costs might top $16 Billion! One thing that we can be sure is that fresh food is going to go up in price. Queensland is where we get fresh fruit and vegs from and fresh beef and lamb too. Petrol and ethanol is also going to be much more expensive.

The worst part is that there are still 70 people not accounted for and definitely 18 deaths already.

It is just so terrible and devastating in Queensland. We've had TV going non-stop and have rellies up there. Still waiting to hear from my niece and her twin daughters who are near Ipswich. Last I heard from her is that the power was cut off and that was yesterday morning. It's a very worrying time.

I live in Tasmania and we've had non-stop rain for a while with flash flood warnings, etc. along the east coast.

Fingers x'ed and prayers for everyone. One thing's for sure, all Australia will be there to help.

I've actually been monitoring your weather for the past week (I put it on my Ipod touch) and it's truly unbelievable. I just pray that you guys are safe and that those 50 people are okay as well. As Phebess said, it's a wake up call to show who's really in control.

I saw this news story and have been praying for those 50 and their families! Good for you for getting your walk. And thank you for making us that are half way around the world aware of what is going on outside of our own back yards.

Great that you could finally get out and walk.
