It has taken me 8 days to lose 1/2 lb! I know my husband loves me, but I need to take back control over the cooking on the weekends. Hubby likes to give me "treats" and when I refuse, I think he's giving me a few extra calories in my food! When I make soup, I lose weight. When he makes soup, not so much! However, on the up side, I have been exercising with more consistency, and extending the times of my exercises. I know they say that muscle weighs more than fat, however, they also say that muscle burns more calories, so I really don't think that is the cause of my stagnant weight loss. Onward!

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about 3 years ago. I also have a number of other pain-in-the-ass disorders which are stable but require ongoing visits to specialists. Each one asks me "who is your primary doctor?" to which I usually reply "I have so many specialists I don't have time for a primary!" So now that things are fairly stable I went to find a primary doctor who could hopefully save me some time and energy and money by handling some of my routine issues, and I chose to try an internal medicine guy because I felt he would have the ability to cover the most issues. He doubts I have Celiac, so he ordered a test that I told him would not be appropriate because it is only accurate if you are NOT on a Celiac diet already! I send him an article from the Celiac Foundation saying I should get the gene testing, and he says I need to go to a gastroenterologist. I have allergic sinus problems and asked him to renew a prescription spray that has worked in the past -- he tells me I need to go to an ENT!
However, another day I would have eaten my frustrations. But, just for today, I will not allow my feelings of frustration and a certain temporary "helplessness" to steer me off my track! I am 1.5 lbs from my first 10 lb loss this round, and my focus is clear. I know what I am eating today because I planned it earlier in the week.
And as far as doctors go, back to the drawing board...tomorrow!

I am having a successful period of weightloss! I am following my plan (for the most part!) with a few mindless screw ups over the weekend, like when Hubby pulled out the lime flavored cornchips at bedtime, and I reflexively grabbed a handful, and another, and yet another...Ok, new rule: No eating in bed! Also, when hubby asked if I wanted pumpkin pancakes for breakfast for Sunday, I enthusiastically said "YES!" Thankfully, my granddaughter wanted left-over pizza, and that gave me just the pause I needed to stick to my plan. All in all, I'm pretty pleased.

and I haven't been here in a long time! Just trying to figure it all out again. I've added some things, only to forget to hit save! Beautiful day -- windy. I'm planning on going contra-dancing tonight for the first time in nearly 20 years, however it's so pretty I should go for a walk. I'm losing weight steadily, which is a blessing, but I find it very difficult to exercise without someone else. Hubby exercises at a level I will never attain, but I have a new exercise buddy, which is a blessing. I tried to set up a South Florida Team, but I'm not sure it took. I just think it would be fun to get together for activities in South Florida. I'll try again later on.

Today was my second attempt at the Couch to 5K program, but I'm considering it as Week 1 Day 1 as I was not able to complete it the first time, last Friday. There is a running group nearby, but they only run together twice each week, and one of them is at 6:30am 40 minutes away on Sundays! I'm not that dedicated! Today I did it on the treadmill. Anybody out there???
