Sunday afternoon

Sunday, November 29, 2009

Well, my dau and family got off this morning and I had eaten breakfast before I remembered to weigh-in --- decided to wait until tomorrow morning B4 I eat!! : )

We did go to Pier One the other day, and saved 20% on the ornaments we buy each year.

I'm sad to see Jeanni (and family) leave, but it's like that every time. She just lives TOO FAR AWAY! (over 900 miles). We'll go see them in several months.

Have been to Sunday School and church, counted the offering afterwards, ate lunch out, and now am looking forward to a nap. (yawn)

Y'all have a great week.

Black Friday

Friday, November 27, 2009

I generally avoid shopping on Black Friday - I HATE the crowds, pushing, grabbing, etc. I'll pay a little more on another date. BUT, I do plan to look for Li Bien ornaments at Pier One this afternoon.....we get one each for our grandchildren, and each of our child-couples every year. We also get one or 2 for ourselves. These ornaments are hand painted from the inside of the glass ball. BEAUTIFUL, FANTASTIC details.

I didn't watch my food/drink intake as well as I could have this week, but didn't totally pig out yesterday. This morning the scales say I lost another pound since Sunday (my regular weigh-in). Hip, hip, HOORAY!!

Great Job! I didn't go out to fight the crowds either, I stayed in bed instead; was entirely too tired to move.

My dau and I had a wonderful (but VERY tiring) time today shopping: all 6 hours worth! : ) I'm bushed! LOL

Looking forward to the rest of this week with all my family. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Sunday night

Sunday, November 22, 2009

My daughter and her family arrived safely this afternoon from Mississippi. They're here for a week's visit. YEA! My only granddaughter and her brother both enjoy Darby, and she them. That's good. Katie was pleased with the dress I made for her and the sweater I knitted. Although I think the dress is a bit long, her mother is pleased with the length.

Tomorrow my dau and I will go shopping alone!!!!! = )

We'll have a houseful (12 of us) on Thanksgiving Day, but it will be really nice to have everyone here.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to you all.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Guess my intentions haven't been backed up with COMMITMENT lately. My out-of-state dau and her family are to arrive tomorrow for the week; and while I'm excited, it DOES mean it will be harder to eat right and get exercise. I guess I've been practicing for (failure?) this past week or so.....haven't done well with either food or exercise. sigh. Time to get back on the I-love-me wagon and treat myself/my body like I really love me.

Sad this week: yesterday my oldest had to put her 17 yr old cat to sleep - Babs had developed cancer, and her quality of life was getting bad. I cried a little with my dau - I know exactly what she was feeling as I had to put my last cat to sleep over 2 yr ago.....he was 18 yr old. I'm allergic to cats now (developed after I'd had cats for years) so we're 'stuck' with the sweetest pit bull.

Pets are truly like members of the family and it's difficult when we have to say goodbye. Be strong and know that they appreciate the love and attention we offer them. -- Lou

Losing a pet is very hard. I can remember losing our beloved cocker several years ago and never desired to go through that again.

Have a great weekend!
