New day, new week, new month. Time to get a better hold on myself and behave. I haven't done as well with even cardio this week, and food? SHAME on me! BUT, I refuse to let all that defeat me. I very much want to lose another 2.5 lbs in the next 10 days. I'm going to work hard on that.
I'm still having some trouble with food: I love it, I'm tempted by the leftover halloween candy (my husband won't let me throw it out) especially the CHOCOLATE! And I've been using weak things as excuses for not getting the exercise I should. Well, maybe not ALL weak excuses: I spent all of Fri (until I got home about 9 p.m.) taking care of my daughter - a lot of that time at the hospital. BUT, I probably could have gotten on the treadmill during the couple of hours that we were at my house before I took her home to her husband. sigh. Guess I'm due for a REAL SERIOUS talk with myself about excuses. I know what to do/not do, so I need to GET WITH IT! I'll be spending another LOOOOOONG day with dau tomorrow, but already am planning to do some strength exercises, and am taking healthy snack. Also, something to benefit us both: a DVD of Anita Renfrow. She's hysterical! Google her, if you aren't already familiar with her. I expect HJ and I will be laughing our hearts healthy for a long time tomorrow.

My walking buddy had to do something else yesterday, and I made several excuses so I didn't walk either. sigh.
I DID get exercise this morning, with the heavy cleaning of a kitten room at an animal shelter. Takes me about 90 minutes to get it all done, partly because I have to watch I don't step on 'anyone'. : ) I love doing it, and it's tremendously good for exercise.....for ex, I sweep, vac, then mop and dry the lino floor, moving a BIG, heavy kennel out of the way and back again.
Tonight is knitting - my hubby urged me to go even tho' he (and the dog) will be home alone for the trick-or-treaters. I'm going knitting. LOL Althought it would be amusing to witness Darby's reaction every time someone came to the door. Darby 'woofs' an announcement every time someone comes to the door, so tonight ought to funny. But Bob says he's up for it.

Since I have an appt at the time I usually walk with my buddy, I walked this morning. The sun is shining, sky is blue with a few puffy clouds, I heard a stream gurgling, saw the changing colors of leaves, breathed fresh air. Had a splendid time with God.
Since it's still just in the mid-40's, I started out with a lightweight jacket and gloves. About 10 minutes into my walk, the gloves came off. A few minutes later, I started unsnapping the jacket - arrived home to cool down on the treadmill, then do some stretches. I feel good!
I hope everyone else is doing well.

October has been missions emphasis month at our church, and today we heard two more missionaries - the one in Sunday School teaches English as a 2nd language in Bangladesh and our sermon was brought by the son of another church member. The younger man is director of Great Northern missions - covers Alaska, Canada and Greenland. Both good.
This evening is a missions banquet, and the gentleman will be speaking again at that.
I tried another SparkPeople receipe for lunch - Parmesan Tilapia Fish. It's GOOD and even got a 'do-over' from my husband. (a do-over means to do it again some day). I used flounder instead of tilapia, but will likely use tilapia the next time. Yum!
The sun is shining beautifully this afternoon, but I think I'd better turn in for a short nap - not only is that a Sunday habit, but I didn't rest as well last night as I should have.
I'm rejoicing that I lost another pound this past week, and a quarter inch in my hips! That's not easy for someone who comes from a looong heredity line of women with big hips/thighs.
I'm looking forward to a walk tomorrow morning before heading to my grandsons' schools - we volunteer in both of their classes. As a friend of mine observed, 'Nancy, how did you ever find time to work?'
I retired last year, and don't miss the get-up-before-dawn stuff at all.
