It's been raining for over 24 hours, and isn't due to stop for another day or two. The hi today is to reach all the way to about 40 degrees. Guess who isn't going walking outdoors today - thank goodness for my treadmill!!!

I whispered the name of Jesus once sitting watching a fog over some hills, and He began to shift it. What would have happened if I had called out His name, I wonder?
Have a blessed day, wherever you are, whatever you're doing. I'm sowing blog comments, and finding how pleasant it is.

My morning to clean the kitten room at a local shelter. Came home, did exercises! If you only knew how much I hate exercising, you'd understand why I'm pleased with myself. I feel GOOD, so am hoping that will play into motivation to continue to exercise in days ahead. Also, am seeing some desirable results in my upper arms.

This morning is beautiful. I'm looking forward to my walk this afternoon with my buddy, followed by dinner then dog training. Darby is an adolescent pit bull, in need of learning what's hers and what isn't. Hubby and I take her to PetSmart's training and hope that WE can learn how to teach her correctly. She's SUCH a smart dog, and would rather lick you to death than anything else.

Have fun with the dog/trainers training! It's important that both trainers are on the same page, so your dog gets consistent messages about what is appropriate behavior. And then Darby will be a joy and delight to you and all your friends as well.

It's raining here this morning, but well needed. I've wondered about the petsmart dog training myself. I love my Rottweiller shepherd mix Bertha. She used to chew everything, but has long calmed down now. I especially love large dogs. I go running with Bertha sometimes. She more than keeps up, and can help move me along. Good luck with the training, and enjoy your nice day!

A dog under control is a much better dog for you and a happier dog!!! Good luck.

When my husband retired several years ago, and I continued working longer, he took over cooking (and cleaning up the kitchen) on the week nights. I had weekend duty. Since I retired, hubby declared he wanted to continue doing that. Who am I to say 'no?' LOL

I would love to give up cooking duties, but I don't see that happening anytime soon, I get home at least 2 hours earlier than anyone else in my house. Probably safer for me to cook anyhow, can't imagine what he would choose to make.

Hey, whatever works for the both of you, right? Especially if he's a good cook! emoticon

Columbus Day

Monday, October 12, 2009

It's a holiday; and I have done some good things and some 'bad' things. This morning I walked 3/10 of a mi to my hair dressers, and back home again. My pace was as brisk as the weather. : )

At lunchtime my husband said, 'let's go out for lunch today. I want pizza.' Since I've been wanting pizza too, I agreed. And I ate some salad first (Pizza Hut has a weekday buffet) then messed up. I prefer thin-crust pizza, so stuck to those choices (that was good), but I ate far, far too much of it (that's the bad). Well, I'm not going to whine, nor eat like a pig the rest of the day; but I KNEW I shouldn't have had had that much pizza - thin crust or not.

This afternoon my walking buddy had errands, so I went alone - not easy to pry me from the couch. But I walked for 37 minutes, so that was good.

Tomorrow's another day. Hopefully a healthier choice day.
