I stayed within my calorie range today! I spent 57 minutes on the treadmill, going the 5K I need to be able to walk (walk-run, mostly walk) on July 16th. I watched my grandson play baseball again tonight.
No, I'm not always 'up' but today is was all 'up' and I gotta praise the Lord for it.
Lou (IUHRYTR) told me how to get credit for (real) bowling on my fitness page. I'd browsed it, but all it showed was Wii bowling. Lou told me to browse 'Sports' and lo and behold, it was there. : ) Thanks again, Lou.
I read a quote from Albert Einstein this morning: "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." Makes me stop and think how much our actions affect those around us. My decisions can have long-lasting ripples in the lake of life.

"The best laid plans of mice and men.....(something) go astray"
Tyler's babysitter (for most of the week) is/was hospitalized for kidney stones, and DD asked us to watch him again today. She got off early to take his brother to the orthodontist, so it wasn't all day. (Josh has other arrangements for child care).
As soon as DD dropped off Tyler at 7 this morning, he headed to the couch and zonked out.....until I finally saw his eyes squinting open at 10:00. Wow! What a nap. I cleaned all the hard floors this morning, and really worked up a sweat. At least they're clean again and I gave myself the day off treadmilling.
The three of us took Darby to the dog park, but we arrived to an empty park! Oh well, Darby had fun running around on her own, and sniffing everything in sight. We'll have to plan to continue to take her for socialization.
I took a sandwich to T's house and ate my lunch while he played on the XBox awhile. He wasn't hungry. um-hm. I did get him to eat a few bites of something (he'd skipped breakfast, too) before his Mom got him.
Y'all take care of you.

DH said it would be too crowded to fit our dog and both grandsons in the backseat, so instead of the dog park, we went bowling - just the 2-legged ones of us.
I did really well (for me) in the first game, but not quite as well in the second game. The guys all did better in the second game than they did in the first one. We did have fun.
but when I tried to enter bowling in SP for cardio, all it would bring up is Wii bowling.....not the same thing. Oh well, I know I burned the calories anyway.
I took the boys to their house this morning after I ate breakfast, while DH stayed here and mowed the grass. Then we went bowling.
This afternoon, DH has the boys at their house and I've been on the computer and the treadmill.
Not an exciting day, but partly active, and that's a good thing. So is the 'resting' part.
Y'all have a great rest-of-today.

Six days have gone by since my last blog. I've been on the treadmill several of them, and have given myself permission to not treadmill every day. Besides, the one morning every week I spend doing heavy cleaning at the animal shelter counts as my cardio for that day. I come home bushed - pleased to help, enjoy the kitties, but bushed.
I'm getting ready for another Monday with our grandsons. I think I'll suggest to my DH that we all take Darby to the dog park. She has such a good time there, and she should have more socializing with other dogs.
I've been reading some of the dozen or so books I borrowed from my dau (who lives in another state). She told me she had a third book in a series, but couldn't lay her hand on it. Of course, I read the two out of order anyway....wasn't paying attention. Each of the books can stand alone. I finally got the title of the other book, and as it turns out, it's the FIRST in the series. LOL I'll look for it in the library. The author is Ariana Franklin, and it's the "Mistress of the Art of Death" series. The heroine is a doctor in (approximately) 1100 A.D. England. I enjoy mysteries and historical fiction, so the combination of the two themes is extra nice. There's a newly published 4th book in the series, so I'll be on the lookout for that, too.
I'm looking forward to this week for a number of reasons. One of which is my weekly stitching group meeting on Thursday nights, and our church women will be having a craft night Friday at the church, where we can bring whatever we're working on, or nothing at all. It's a social evening. I'm all for social evenings. ;- )
Y'all have a great week. Keep on keeping on, even if you're like me: seemingly stuck in a rut, but partly caused by myself.

This morning after my shower and breakfast, I took my grandsons back to their house (we're 'sitting' today) so they could play. We had lunch at my house, then I kept my dr appt. On the way home, I stopped at the (new) Wal-Mart near my house and picked up a watchband for the one that broke this morning. Turns out the little 'bars' don't fit right.
When I came home, I FORCED myself to get on the treadmill; but this time I took my 'boom box' and played Mercy Me's "The Generous Mr. Lovewell' CD and cranked up the volume. What a wonderful idea that was! The CD kept me 'going' and I even spent a total of 10 minutes at 4 mph (for me, that's great). Just 20 seconds into my treading, I was already on a spiritual high.
Woo-eee! The endorphins were really flowing this afternoon!
I'm pleased at the 42 minutes on the treadmill, especially since I didn't exercie for about 2-1/2 months this year. I'm baaaaack!
