As promised, here's my report on the baseball tournament......
The team Josh's team played lost a game yesterday, won their first game today, and went on to defeat Josh's team, 7 - 6. BUT, the score is misleading - it really wasn't that close a game. sigh. Josh's team got 4 runs in the top of the 1st, but sort of fell apart after that. They didn't even play well - I mean, they made numerous errors today, and stranded several players on base.
Still, it was fun cheering them on, and while that team is finished for the tournament, I had a good time watching the boys play this fall.
Have a good night's rest, and let's start a new day in the morning.

I was feeling somewhat virtuous until I tracked my lunch on SP. sigh. Oh well, this evening is a new start. My good feeling came from the fact that I declined to take a 3rd piece of Italian bread and butter-substitute for lunch. Ok, so maybe I shouldn't have had any of it; but I did get 2 servings of veggies, too.
We'll be leaving in awhile for Josh's ballgame. I'll let you know the outcome later. I have my fingers, toes, and intestines crossed that his team will win and thus go on to the next level of play. (It's a tournament)
We had a good time w/the boys last night, and my dau and her hubby enjoyed their dinner out. I'm so glad we live nearby and can help out w/the boys. Just wish our other grandkids lived as close. "If wishes were horses, beggers would ride." Hahaha!
Have a great afternoon, y'all.

I can tell the antibiotics are beginning to work - but I always take a long time to get fully over a sinus infection. But it's PROGRESS! I try to celebrate progress, no matter what it's in.
Today our grandson (almost 11) started in the baseball tournament. The first game was called after 2+ hr play so someone else could get a game in. They played to a 3-3 tie; but our boys were robbed. The ump called one of them out at the plate, when everyone (including the other team) could plainly see that he was safe. Oh well, that's what he's paid to do.
After other teams had played, Josh's team played someone else, and that time they won 4-2. Now, in this 'league', they divided the boys into "A" teams and "B" teams - the "A" teams were a yr or so older, and supposedly better. Josh played on a "B" team that clearly should have been an "A" team - they handily won ALL their games, massacuring the other teams for the most part. (It's not just grandma pride speaking). Anyway, today they played 2 "A" teams and held their own. I don't know yet how the tie will be handled, but think it'll depend on how tomorrow games go. Josh doesn't play until 3 p.m., so no body had to miss church. They play another "A" team, which lost today 2-0, so I'm excited to see how things go tomorrow.
Sorry - I ramble on and on, in case you never noticed.
We watched both boys tonight so their parents could go out to dinner, and we took the boys out, too. Learned that the (fairly) new restaurant won't see us again.....the food was mediocure at best. Oh well, you can't hit a bulls-eye every time.
I'm knitting/crocheting scarves for Special Olympics again this year. And am also knitting a scarf to go w/a hat and gloves that someone else made. Those will go to one of the local elementary schools. And I've promised myself that I WILL start my first ever pair of socks/sox by 1 November. I so enjoy knitting/crocheting each week w/a bunch of other interested ladies.

I finally faced up to it and went to the dr this morning - yes, I do have another sinus infection. Nuts! I'm even running a slight fever - an oddity for me. The good news is that I'm now on an antibiotic; the not-so-great news is that it's one of the few I can take, and a side effect is possible tendon injury. So, I'm going to have to be careful for the next couple of weeks when I exercise; I mean more careful than usual.
On a brighter note, we returned to school for the 1st time this school year. We helped out in our grandson's 5th gr class yesterday, this time by listening as individual students read to us. Some of them read so poorly that they need the practice. It was a real thrill when we walked into the classroom and the whole class cheered our return. I didn't think they cared THAT much whether we were there or not. But it was a pleasant hr for us, as we renewed acquaintances w/the 5th graders. As usual, our grandson didn't even acknowlege us. He's at that age that family grown ups are just plain embarrassing! I still laugh when I think of the 1st time our oldest gave us the cold shoulder in public - we were at the mall, and she insisted on walking about 10 feet in front of us, praying that nobody would realize we were with her. Hahaha! Some of you know exactly when I mean.
Take care of yourselves - get flu shots, drink lots Have a great evening.

Well, we worked really, really hard this week - the bedroom took two coats of paint, then we moved everything back into the room on Friday. I'm so glad to be back in my own bed (the guest room where we slept for over a week is only a double bed - ours is a queen).
I burned so many calories, I felt I should have lost 5 pounds, but only lost 1/2 pound. Still a victory. But the biggest surprise for me (and a really pleasant one) was that I lost 1/4 - 1/2 inch in each of several measurements. Heeding what I've read on SP more than once or twice, I increased my calorie intake last week somewhat, to compensate for the abundance of calories burned.....I mean, I painted hours and hours and hours. Go look up that activity on your cardio fitness and see how many calories YOU'd burn.
Attended our grandson's baseball game this afternoon- they won again, of course. They haven't lost at all this fall, and next week will start the play-offs. They are a very talented group of boys.
