My Dh showed me what he does when he gets the 'blocked' message - and it helps a little. But I'm still having a good bit of computer trouble, and I think we shouldn't keep getting the message at all if everything is 'resolved' like Norton (protection) said. sigh.
Even tho I can't fully and easily utilize SP, I CAN still exercise and eat right. But it's SO MUCH BETTER when I can interact w/y'all and read the articles, etc from SP.

Apparently we picked up a 'cookie' somewhere and while it's supposedly been 'resolved' we're still getting a 'blocked' message quite often. My DH doesn't find it a problem because he barely uses the internet, but I'm having FITS trying to utilize SP! Pray for us because I don't think this can continue much longer b4 I go nuts!

"The best laid plans...." and "The road to hell is paved w/good intentions" and....
I had great plans to eat WELL at dinner last night, but blew it instead. I'm not beating myself up about it even if I should (I doubt beating ourselves up is ever good). We were celebrating our anniversay (41 yrs w/the same poor soul), and we rarely get to Macaroni Grill so I subcumbed to temptation and had the Penne Rustica. One thing we both noticed is that portions are smaller than they used to be (that's good); and secondly, I brought home 1/2 of my dinner and ate it for breakfast this morning. Still, it's a lot of calories.
As if paying penance, I burned a bunch of calories already today: worked at the animal shelter for well over an hr and a half - heavy duty cleaning of the kitten room. There are several new kittens (of COURSE I played them a few minutes!) and two were in separate cages due to conjuntivitis. So, I had a totol of 4 large cages to clean and re-outfit, as well as the usual work on the floor, etc. As I've mentioned b4, I sweep the room, vacuum it, mop it then dry it using a towel. By the time I finish just the floor, I know I've burned a lot of calories. Then there are several litter boxes to sift thru and re-fill as needed, washing dishes so the kitties have clean ones to eat and drink from, lots of bending and lifting of stuff. I enjoy the work, and am pleased to burn so many calories.
I take a 20 oz bottle of water and imbibe freely while I'm cleaning, finishing it off on my way home. Since then, I've had another 24 oz of water. I may float away! Haha!
I plan to do strength exercises when I'm finished here, then shower so others can stand to be around me.
I'm treating today as a new day, and I know I'm getting stronger and healthier, even if it's two steps forward and one step back.

Being home sure has made a difference in my quest to lose weight. I'd gained 6 pounds on our trip!!! But since we've been home (last Saturday), I've lost 3 of them. We're going out to dinner tonight to my favorite restaurant, Romano's Macaroni Grill, and I've decided to NOT order my favorite dish, Penne Rustica. Just google and take a look at all the calories and fat, etc! Ugh. I'm planning to order the Simple Salmon dinner, which comes with asparagus. Much healthier choice.
I spent 40 min on the treadmill this a.m., and am trying to talk myself into some strength exercises. I know all the reasons FOR doing it, but am basically lazy. sigh. Ok, on to the exercises.
I reminded my husband this morning that when I lose enuf weight, I'm going to need new clothes. I only saved my old size 16's and that's what I'm wearing now. I do have a size 14 swimsuit, which will feel like a 'new' one when I start wearing it.
Remember (as I have to remind myself) to think positively, no matter the circumstances; take it one step, one meal, one day at a time. We WILL get to our goals!

Ok, so none of the pounds I gained on our trip were water weight. No big surprise. I am, however, determined to re-lose them, and to resume losing another bunch as well, so will shortly get on the treadmill. It's already too hot out to walk outside, and besides, while my hip is much better than it was, I do still get twinges in it when I sit too long, so I'm going to avoid inclines awhile longer. (My neighborhood has lots of them)
I got a good night's sleep, and in spite of my scale not moving the way I want it to, I'm in good spirits, with positive thoughts about doing better. I started off w/a slice of whole wheat toast, less than 2 tbs of reduced fat PB, and some marmalade, along w/a cuppa coffee. I'll eat a little something more after I treadmill.
Later this a.m., I have a hair appt, and then will spend some time going thru the mail that collected while we were gone.
Instead of knitting last night, I crocheted. As I've mentioned before, I get 'tennis elbow' if I knit too much - I should probably call it 'knitter's elbow' - but I do want to work some more on the cotton top I'm making. I know I need to be kind to myself, so may just crochet some more for a few more days.
Y'all have a GREAT day. I'm off to the treadmill!
