Start of another day

Friday, August 06, 2010

I just finished breakfast, and am spending a few minutes on SP before getting on the treadmill. I know, walking outdoors would be less boring, but I don't handle heat and humidity well, so use the treadmill. It's not totally boring - I read a little while walking slower, and pray while going faster. Rarely, I watch something on TV, usually a movie. Those oldies are often good.

I made a list last night of things to do/work on today, including sewing more on Katie's dress, and cleaning up my coupon file. emoticon Let's see how well I actually do. emoticon

Mentally, I'm 'up' today, which should help to carry me a long ways. I'm thankful to my Spark friends (and others) for your support. You don't know how much it means to me.

The humidity is supposed to recede a bit today (I sure hope so), but the respite will be short-lived. Oh well, it could be worse - I could still be living in the tropics!

Have a GREAT day, everyone.
Nancy

I can relate to the heat and humidity. At 6:30 tonight it was still 91 degrees here in Central FL. Way too hot to do anything strenuous outside. Good for you using the treadmill and getting in a workout. emoticon -- Lou

"Up" days do a lot for motivation. You seem to have a good routine so I'm looking for good results for you but the scale is not the only ruler as you know. Have a good Friday!

...off the wagon (updated)

Thursday, August 05, 2010

It's evening now, and I've stayed within my calorie range for the day, even allowed myself a couple of hundred for a snack later. Late evenings are tough for me, but planning calories such that I CAN snack in the eve probably works better for me than just trying to gut it out....pardon the pun.

Tomorrow's another day. I'm planning for it to be another successful day. BTW, I spent a total of 2 hours doing heavy cleaning - between the shelter and my house. Ouch! Just broke my arm patting myself on the back.

LOL

You are looking ahead and that means you won't have to give up your late night habit. Great plan!

congrats on staying within your calorie range. I know that I often go weeks ignoring sparkpeople/my health....then i have a day where I stay in that "golden range" and really feel proud of myself. Good luck to you tomorrow, and all the days (and temptations) after!

Oops! Fell off the wagon

Thursday, August 05, 2010

I 'fell' ('jumped' ?) off the healthy-living wagon for several weeks: not exercising, eating whatever struck my fancy. And yes, I gained some pounds. sigh. I plan to spend time today figuring out WHY I let myself do that, and also to resume healthier eating and exercising.

Breakfast was multi-bran Chex and a nectarine. A good start. Now to plan out the rest of the day's eating. When I get home from cleaning the kitten room at the shelter, I plan to vigorously do some housework, which accomplishes 2 things at once.

We had our grandsons most of yesterday, taking them swimming in the morning. It is a private pool that we have access to, and thus had the pool to ourselves most of the time. That was good because the boys (ages 6 and 10) like to SPLASH! We all had a really good time. Later this month we're going to take them to Dayton, OH to the Air Force museum at Wright-Patterson AFB. DH and I have been there once - but never even finished walking the whole museum (it's HUGE) - and want the boys to see all the neat stuff. We'll be staying in a place w/an indoor pool, and have promised the boys swim time. emoticon

Time to head to the shelter. Have a great day, y'all.

Yipee!!!!

Thursday, July 15, 2010

I haven't posted since 6/23 and haven't even had use of a computer for about 2 weeks; and even before that we had several days of misery. My DH gave in and took the computer in for repairs. We had seventeen (count 'em, 17) viruses! Thank goodness we weren't charged by the number of viruses.

Anyway, I'm back, and have MUCH email to get to. It'll take some time, but I'm just so falling-down-grateful that I can once again access SP. I've missed you all muchly.

Good to have you back Nancy. I can totally relate to your pc problems. When I "drowned" my laptop a few weeks back I had to go to the library every day to get my SP fix. I was never so grateful to get a piece of gadgetry back again!

I look forward to hearing all about your adventures over the last few weeks. Speak to you soon.

A little help

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

My Dh showed me what he does when he gets the 'blocked' message - and it helps a little. But I'm still having a good bit of computer trouble, and I think we shouldn't keep getting the message at all if everything is 'resolved' like Norton (protection) said. sigh.

Even tho I can't fully and easily utilize SP, I CAN still exercise and eat right. But it's SO MUCH BETTER when I can interact w/y'all and read the articles, etc from SP.

Thanks for hanging in there w/me.

I hadn't received my emails a couple of times and finally got it fixed but I clicked on my subscriptions so I could read the daily things until it worked again. It is nicer to get the emails.
