dreading Fri morning - edited version

Wednesday, October 07, 2009

When I had my teeth cleaned earlier this year, my dentist informed me that my body was reabsorbing one tooth. He sent me to an oral surgeon who removed that tooth (a molar) and implanted some cadaver bone to build up my jaw. Now it's time to have him implant the screw in my jaw in prep for my dentist to attach a new tooth (early next year). I HATE, HATE, HATE mouth pain, and not being able to eat right. BUT, I'm making plans for nourishment. I have a box of Instant Breakfasts, will be able to eat some soup, jello, and other non-chewed food the first few days. For pain? Well, the last time, the surgeon gave me Vicodin. :D That's the only bright spot.

:( I'm sorry. I hope you feel better. I've had to watch my little sister go through similar events. Hopefully it will all work out better than anticipated.

Ouch...i feel for you. I had a dental implant done about 4yrs ago, the procedure sounds similar to what you are having done. I can honestly say the pain after wasn't that bad. Just make sure you are going to someone who knows what they are doing and that they don't rush it...that can lead to more bleeding and trauma.
Best of luck to you!!

reached a goal

Tuesday, October 06, 2009

I reached a goal of actually DOING some strength exercises. I know, what have I been doing up to now? (not going to answer that directly). I'm a basically lazy person when it comes to exercising, except my walking buddy keeps me walking - we're doing great! I am determined to do strength exercises at least a few times a week - baby steps, folks, baby steps. When I get to that goal, I can add another day per week. etc.

Good job. The more of these changes that turn into habits - the better!!

Monday

Monday, October 05, 2009

Ok, so yesterday was an up-and-down day, but I did pretty well staying w/in my nutrition goals.

Today, I walked the mile (uphill) to my friend's house and we walked for 40 minutes up and down hills; then I walked the mile home. I know I burned a lot of calories, and my metabolism is up - hopefully, it'll burn off another bunch of calories.

Let's go Spark!

Today's a new day

Saturday, October 03, 2009

Yeah, I was lazy yesterday, but my walking friend and I walked 2 miles yesterday afternoon - so I wasn't a total slug for the whole day. : D

I need to make a b'day cake for my husband - the big test will be that I won't gobble up half the cake! He's supportive when I say things like, "I've lost.....pounds" - BUT I can't clear the houe of bad goodies and junk. Makes it a little harder for me, but I'm working on it. I've made one SP receipe so far, and he liked it. He knows what I'm making tomorrow (Lentil Loaf) and isn't too thrilled.

Hubby knows because he cooks week days and I cook weekends - and he's mostly in charge of the kitchen. I do, however, pick up some 'just healthy' stuff at the store, even if I'm the only one who will eat it.

I can only RARELY buy lo-fat this or that, even when I say "you won't know the difference when it's in a receipe". He claims lo-fat means NO TASTE.

Well, he's pleased with me that I'm losing weight, and I've let him know I have a box of clothes in the next size down from what I'm still in. So, I shouldn't have to buy a bunch until I get ANOTHER size down. emoticon

So it's Friday

Friday, October 02, 2009

So it's Friday and I feel LAZY today. Good thing my walking partner (SHIRL70) and I have a walk scheduled for this afternoon. She keeps me accountable.

Maybe I'll wake up more in my shower. (yawn) Or maybe I'll just decide to give myself the day off - except for this afternoon's walk. Would that be so bad?
