Even tho' a front came thru last eve and today's high did NOT reach the predicted 60 degrees, AND the sun was mostly hidden by clouds, AND the wind was blowing, my walking buddy and I took our 30 minute walk around her neighborhood. The wind (especially) made it feel cold, but we kept w/it and both are glad we made the effort.
We have our grandsons tonight and will have the boys until tomorrow eve as well. Their Mom is going to enjoy a ladies' retreat weekend, and their Dad has to work tomorrow, so have the pleasure of keeping the boys. I am glad we're available to help out.
Have a restful night and a wonderful weekend, yall.

I am recovering - not yet well, but recovering. I'm so thankful. I haven't exercised as much this week as I 'should have' if I had been healthy, but I'm also not over-doing exercise. I did clean the kitten room at the shelter this morning, but have a quiet afternoon planned. I do plan to go to my stitching group tonight.
It's another beautiful day today, with temps due to rise into the 80's again. But a front comes thru later and we're due rain. Tomorrow's hi is expected to be normal/usual/average for this time of year - around 60 degrees. Is it any wonder I got sick?
We had our grands on Monday, and will have them Fri night to Sat eve. Then again all weekend the next weekend. Whew! But they are a blessing to us. Little League is resuming, so we'll be wrapped up w/that these two weekends.
Have a wonderful day, y'all.

I was rather tired last evening, but chalked it up to the excitement of having everyone over to dinner......was real nice that even B could be here.....too often he has to work on holidays.
I awoke (after sleeping poorly) with a VERY sore throat, swollen glands, stopped up ears and nose. Sounds like another cold, doesn't it?!! Well, I back to doctoring it myself, hoping I don't have develop a bacterial infection, too.
We had both (local) grandsons today as they were still out of school on Easter vacation. They're such sweethearts, expect maybe when they decide to fight. I'm staying out of those as much as I can, because they need to learn to settle their differences themselves. But I do still sometimes speak up, "Settle down and keep your hands to yourselves" or something similar.
Here's hoping the rest of the week sees me getting WELL and feeling much, much better. I'm NOT a good patient, and I was sick just last month - I wonder if my body didn't get the memo saying I am to stay well awhile....just a thought. LOL
Don't feel sorry for me - I'm taking care of myself, and expect to keep losing weight. But, this week's weigh-in was a disappointment - all measurements and weight remained identical to a week ago. Oh well, bound to happen.
Hanging in there,

It's a BEAUTIFUL day, and my energy is high. I did some 'touch-up' housework in prep for family coming over tomorrow, then baked a cake, spent over 40 min on the treadmill (I know, I coulda/shoulda walked outdoors), and then made a hearty vegetable soup for lunch. It was a new-to-me receipe, so it needs tweaking, but it wasn't bad. Just 63 calories per serving.
Yesterday I baked chocolate chip cookies (partly in case my grandsons prefer them to cake) and made rolls from scratch. In both cases, I substituted whole wheat flour for 1/2 of what was called for in the receipes. I just won't tell the boys that the cookies are 'healthy' - grandma is such a sneak!
We're going to have both boys (ages 6 and 10) on Monday, and they want to go to a movie. I want to go bowling - guess which we'll do. Haha. We'll have them overnight next weekend, and for a day and night the following weekend. They are such sweethearts, but I try to avoid saying that in front of them - being's they're boys and all. I do make sure I tell them regularly (and often) how much I love them, and am proud of this-or-that that they've done.
Well, I have to go buy milk and flowers for a table centerpiece, so need to take care of a few things first.
Y'all have a great Easter, remembering the real reason for the holiday - Jesus died and arose for our salvation.

I blew my nutrition for today, but refuse to beat myself up for it. I'm determined to do better tomorrow.
I did spend time on the treadmill this morning, and will either do that again tomorrow, or will take a walk outdoors, depending on the weather. My walking buddy has a respiratory infection, so I expect her to rest tomorrow.
Have planned (and am starting work on) a cross stitch bookmark for each of my grandson's teachers as end-of-school year gifts. They are both great teachers and we appreciate them. (We help in their classes, so we've become acquainted with them).
I'm still working on my grandson's afghan, and am knitting a top for myself. What's two more projects?
