Sunny Thursday

Thursday, March 11, 2010

It IS sunny right now, but showers are to move in before the night is over. : ( I've gotten spoiled by all the sunny, WARM days we've been having. It's supposed to be shower-y or rain for each of the next 4 days or so. Oh well, the ground water tables need to be filled so we don't have to ration water later in the year.

Have a great, Sparking day!

respiratory update

Tuesday, March 09, 2010

Had a regular schedule appt w/my pulmonologist today: generally good news, but he added prednisone to help get rid of the infection. That antibioltic IS working, but sometimes needs help. Some of you know what I mean.

I can hardly wait to get healthier enuf to get back to exercising!! Never thought I'd hear myself say that! emoticon But it's true. I'm eager to get this body into (the proper) shape. Maybe the warming weather has something to do w/that.

It's been in the upper 50's the past few days and SUNNY! How gorgeous! Yes, we're due several days of rain, starting soon, but these past few days have been SO NICE!

So glad you are starting to feel better. I know what you mean, when I CAN'T exercise, I really miss it and can hardly wait to get back on track. It would be nice if we could have some sunny days here in Oregon. It's still winter here but spring is trying! Get well emoticon

Living Victoriously

Thursday, March 04, 2010

God wants us to live victoriously. He provides the power (His) for us to do what He wants, so we DO HAVE power to live victoriously. How often we forget that and live under sin's rule; but how often (EVERY time) God lifts us up again.

No matter how high we climb; or how low we fall, God's grace reaches us and sustains us.

It's been a difficult week

Friday, February 26, 2010

If you've read my other blogs from this week, you know it's been tough. But God grants grace and mercy (and sends friends who encourage and pray for me and my dau).

Yesterday morning we went to the animal shelter and right away I started sneezing. I just thought it was the out-of-date antihistamine not working (I'm allergic to cats). But no, I've suddenly come down w/a cold. NUTS! I hate having a cold - I'm not a good patient. I'm taking extra Vit C and Cold-Eze - they help me some.

Due to excuse-making, I haven't been good about exercise (or diet) this week. I DID spend 70 minutes on the treadmill early in the week, but nothing since. sigh. I'm disgusted w/the way I feel and certainly am not LOSING weight. My size 16, set-on waist pants are tight again. I guess when I gain a lb it all goes to my stomach. emoticon

Starting today, I'm getting back on the program - but a bit carefully. Having a cold means I won't overdo the exercise, but I WILL get SOME!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers for Heather/Brian and the rest of us. HJ seems to be doing ok, all things considered.

Our weather: Some of you know I live in so-central PA. THANKFULLY, we haven't been hit hard w/snow this storm. But the winds are another story. Steady winds are in the mid-20 mph range with gusts going as high as 50+ mph. The little snow we've gotten (and what was still on the ground from earlier Feb storms) has been blowing all over the place, making for hazardous driving.

Still, I'm thankful it isn't worse. People not too many miles NE of us are about buried in snow again, along w/the strong winds. Brrrr.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I imagine how heartbreaking it must be for her. For some reason we don't understand, it is just not to be this time. Maybe God has another plan for her. There are a lot of children out there that desperately need a loving parent. There will be better days ahead. Love & hugs, Nettie emoticon

Love your determination to continue working out with your cold. Be easy on yourself though and get well so you can hit it with all of your strength. -- Lou
