Maybe if I just ignore weather predictions they won't come true. Now we're going told that being 'touched' by the snow storm on Monday (into Tues) will net us about 3 more inches of the evil white stuff. I'm still waiting for the sun to melt what we have off the roof!
Oh, well, guess what I really need is to go shopping. heh-heh. Actually, I do have a few small items I need and today's a good a time as any, better than some we've had lately for getting out.
Now, I know y'all who live where it always snows big-time think I'm making much over a little, but this has been a lot for us in a short amt of time. I do know it could be much, much worse.
Take care of you, stay warm (and dry) and I'll blog again another day.

My dau told me last night that her (3 yr old) son is over the flu. PRAISE THE LORD! Apparently Tamaflu has something to do w/it, too; but the praise belongs to the Lord, because if He didn't will it, it wouldn't have happened, or so quickly.
We're still having winds, altho' they can't hold a candle to what we had the past few days. Another reason to thank God.
And the generally realiable weather forecaster just said that we MIGHT get 'touched' by the next snow on Monday.....his lips to God's ear, please! Frankly, if it didn't snow again this winter, I probably wouldn't mind too much. Sorry, I wasn't going to complain tonight.
We're doing well. My two PA kids and families are doing well. My York (PA) dau's DH made it safely to work on Wednesday, and home again since. : ) Another thanks to God.
Are you getting the idea that I'm praising and thanking God for His ABUNDANT blessing to us?!!!
I spent 56 minutes on the treadmill today, going various speeds, and SP says I burned a lot of calories. As if I hadn't guessed. : ) Then I spent some time doing strength exercises. Oooff! I got out of shape these past several weeks. Guess what I'll be doing more of in the days ahead.
And celebration: I stayed w/in my nutrition goals today, getting several servings of fruit/veggies. I missed protein by 4 grams, but I'm not concerned. It's just one day.
Thank you all for all your encouragement. I couldn't do so well w/out it.

This snowstorm is probably worse than the one we got over the weekend. My DH went out this morning and made a few swipes with the snow thrower, only to find our drive covered in another 2 or 3 inches by the time he'd swiped at the neighbor's drive. I'm hoping he will stay in until tonight or tomorrow a.m.
No only did we get wetter snow starting yesterday afternoon, but now that it's less wet, the wind is blowing it into HUGE drifts! The wind is expected to be steady at 25 or so mph, w/gusts upwards of 35-40 mph.
We're hoping the snow will stop by evening, and the wind is to die down sometime tonight. sigh. I really have no way of knowing how many inches this time (on top of the 20-22" we got on the weekend), but before the wind picked up, I figured we had about a foot of new snow. And it's been coming down like there's no tomorrow.
Fortunately, "I know Who holds tomorrow, and I know He holds my hand...."
I am somewhat concerned about my EMT s-i-l. This time he didn't leave a day early for work, not leaving home until 10 a.m. today. (He was due in at 2). Once again, the snow has been coming from the south, and the Governor closed all the highways in our part of the state. Brian has to drive nearly an hour (in good conditions) to get to work, and as of noon, his wife hadn't heard anything from him. I hope that means he made it safely to the firestation. My dau didn't seem too concerned, but I'm thinking that was for my benefit. sigh.
Ok, enuf horror stories. We have electricity, food, and toilet paper :- ) and God is in Control. He will carry us thru as He sees fit.
All the rest of you who are suffering in this storm, stay home, stay inside, keep warm! I may just go back to bed!

We're bracing for a 2nd snowstorm. They're predicting 10 or more inches on top of the 20 or so we got over the weekend. My DH and I are rescheduling the medical appts we had for tomorrow because the storm is to start this afternoon and run thru tomorrow eve.
Stay warm, everyone!

I praise the Lord for his great goodness to us. We got about 20-22 inches of snow by the time it stopped Saturday, and the Govenor declared a state of emergency, getting the Nat'l Guard out to help. That was lifted by nightfall.
We didn't lose electricity (another Praise the Lord!) and my hubby got us dug out. No I didn't help - he wouldn't 'let me' - LOL He figures snow removal is a man's job. Never mind that when the snow thrower wouldn't start in December that I helped (a LOT) to shovel the many inches we got in one storm. But I'm not really complaining; I 'm basically a lazy person anyway.
Our dog loved playing in the snow, after she got used to the fact that when she leaped on top of the snow, she sank down.
I praise and thank the Lord for His bountiful blessing of protection for my youngest, who lives in York, PA (about 12 miles so. of us). The farther south of us you go, the more snow they got. HJ went out to shovel her front porch and walk, and the wind blew her door shut. She tried calling her m-i-l who lives much closer to her than we do - no answer. HJ called us to ask if we had a house key (we do), and could we bring it to her; but we couldn't even get out of our driveway at that point.
Around 12:30 HJ came walking up our driveway - she had walked about 3 miles to the Interstate hiway and hitch-hiked! I told her how thankful I was that she was ok, fussed at her for hitch-hiking!!! then reiterated my thanks that she was ok. We kept HJ at our house overnight, (Her DH is an EMT who was at work in southern York County), and took her home yesterday morning.
Church services were sparsely attended, but it was a really good service anyway.
Another daughter (in MS) called Saturday that report that Ethan (3 yr) had the flu. When they showed up for their dr appt to get a flu shot months ago, the dr no longer had shot vaccine, and E is too young for the mist version. Jeannie took E to the health dept, but they refused to give a shot because my dau has insurance! What nonsense is all that?! E has asthma, no less, so having the flu is a really bad thing. I talked w/J yesterday and E is holding his own, sort of. Poor baby.
I know this is long, but there was much I wanted to say. If you made it this far, thanks. : )
God's blessings on you all.
