Last night I went to a memorial service for a wonderful Christian lady, my sister in Christ. I knew her from work, and we were in Bible study together there. (I retired a yr ago) Barb had battled cancer for several years, but thru it all, Christ shined thru her to everyone. Barb always thought of others, not herself, and once she was asked (in my presence) "don't you everget mad or upset about having cancer and going thru chemo?" Barb's reply was so typically Barb, "yes, sometimes I go by myself and cry, but I remember that God is in control of what is happening." Barb wasn't resigned to God's control, she EMBRACED it in joy. What an example.
I miss Barb, but I'm glad God released her from her body of pain and disease. I WILL see her again one day, when I reach Heaven. Praise the Lord!

I went out by myself to the mall....it was great to be out by myself, and not have to go where I wasn't interested in going, or wait while someone else looked at something. Since the mall wasn't terribly crowded, I got in a brisk walk - went all over the thing at least once. : )
I found a shirt for my husband, and a blouse for myself (why not!?) and then bought us both Auntie Anne's original pretzels. He was surprised and pleased when I gave it to him on my return home. I've tracked that nutrition, and am determined to eat even better the rest of the day, but it was a pleasant splurge.

Ok, it's warm compared to some people (currently about 38 Degrees F, and humid); but with the humidity, it's cold to me! I had an appt this morning, then ran a couple of errands. I was thankful to get back inside. : )
A very sweet lady I know 'went home' today to Heaven. Barb had breast cancer that spread to her brain then stomach and throughout her body. I know she's now healthy, no longer in pain, and in the presense of Jesus, but I am sad. The comfort I have, is that I will see her again when I get to Heaven, too. God does provide the perfect comfort. Please pray for her family's comforting.
Back to weather: Friday's hi is expected to be at or just below freezing. Brrrr! It's not even officially winter, by the calendar. Guess I need to pull out my sweaters. : )
Y'all stay warm now.

First, I want to thank all of you who responded to my blog yesterday. I watched the news broadcast and found they did a very nice job of advertising not only what we do, but that we're looking for more folks to join us, and of course, gifts of yarn.
I volunteered at my grandson's kindergarten class this morning, and now am contemplating the housework that I've been ignoring! Maybe if I look at it as exercise......yeah, that's a good idea. : )
Cheers, everyone. Have a great day.

Well, my knitting/crocheting group was finally able to link up with the local ABC camera crew and we were taped for broadcast tonight on the 5 o'clock news. (That's ABC27, Harrisburg, PA) If you're interested, you might be able to find it on their web site (later). That address is: http://www.whtm.com/
It was fun, the interviewer is a nice young lady, and we were able to share with others what we knit/crochet. Such things as: fetal demise pouches and caps; blankets for Project Linus; chemo hats for a cancer clinic; hats, mittens and scarves for a couple of elementary schools and womens' shelter.
I had a good time, and we 're hoping to gain additional knitters/crocheters as well as donations of yarn.
