First, I want to thank all of you who responded to my blog yesterday. I watched the news broadcast and found they did a very nice job of advertising not only what we do, but that we're looking for more folks to join us, and of course, gifts of yarn.

I volunteered at my grandson's kindergarten class this morning, and now am contemplating the housework that I've been ignoring! Maybe if I look at it as exercise......yeah, that's a good idea. : )

Cheers, everyone. Have a great day.

I may be on TV tonight

Monday, December 07, 2009

Well, my knitting/crocheting group was finally able to link up with the local ABC camera crew and we were taped for broadcast tonight on the 5 o'clock news. (That's ABC27, Harrisburg, PA) If you're interested, you might be able to find it on their web site (later). That address is: http://www.whtm.com/

It was fun, the interviewer is a nice young lady, and we were able to share with others what we knit/crochet. Such things as: fetal demise pouches and caps; blankets for Project Linus; chemo hats for a cancer clinic; hats, mittens and scarves for a couple of elementary schools and womens' shelter.

I had a good time, and we 're hoping to gain additional knitters/crocheters as well as donations of yarn.

I have started knitting and crocheting some, and want to do more and learn more. Thus far I just do scarfs and straightish things. Soon I hope to go round!

I would love to the broadcast but I live in Texas

How heart breaking it must be to lose an infant. You are a true angel in a mothers time of need. God bless you. I've always taught my daughters that people like you are the real stars and heroes in life. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Wee hours of Saturday

Saturday, December 05, 2009

It's still Friday to me - had too much caffine, so can't get to sleep yet.

Went to a "First Friday" at my LYS and had a really good time. Was able to get a 15% discount on my total order (!) and bought some beautiful (alpaca, wool & nylon) sock yarn. Now 'all' I need to do is sit down and knit my first pair of socks! LOL

Got a name/phone number of a possible repairer of treadmills today. Probably will be cheaper in the long run to just get a new one - this one is at least 6 years old.

Waiting to hear when the TV station will be out to tape my knitting group. Getting excited about it......no, CONTINUING to be excited about it. : )

Oh dear, treadmill woes. Mine is making a popping noise coming down from an incline. Hubby is going to look at it today. Hope yours can be salvaged!!

Have fun knitting those socks!! emoticon

I didn't let circumstances get me down today! It's raining out, and cold, so no walking outside; my treadmill is broken and I don't belong to a gym....BUT! I took the advice a couple of people gave me: I walked inside my house for 20 minutes today. Then, I capped it off with upper body (and some core) exercises! (This is a big deal for me)

I'll be doing heavy cleaning tomorrow morning at the animal shelter, then be part of my knitting group being taped for local TV. Finally, I plan to do core exercies tomorrow afternoon. I can't let the winter and other circumstances get me down. I REALLY, REALLY want to lose more weight and be stronger. It IS happening!

Way to go! No excuses. You give me a boost with this post!
Thank you

BTW, My knitting group was once taped to be on the Martha Steward show. I was on for all of 10 seconds but it was so much fun! I hope you enjoy your self tomorrow!

This is a fantastic example of the little things we can all do to get healthier! It's very, very cold here and I was feeling annoyed that I can't walk outside tonight, but your blog entry has inspired me to find a new way to work out indoors!
