Hit a running wall today- was very tired after four straight days of morning workouts. Muscled through. Will have to evaluated sleeping patterns and carb in take.

I decided to eat lunch at my desk, and so while sitting here, I figured I would enter my meal in to the Nutrition Tracker before I dug in. Wow.... My best friend the Calorie Counter states that a Gyro is 630 calories! I hadn't even entered the fries or Iced Tea yet.

So, instead of eating those fries, I gave them away to the IT guys who are ALWAYS hungry. I cut off half of the Pita bread and threw it away. I scraped off half of the sauce. I figure that counts as 2/3rds of a Gyro.... 430 calories is more reasonable.

I am SO glad I did this. I ate a decent meal, but didn't go over my calories. I still have lots of room for a sensible dinner.

Now that I've been sitting here for 20 minutes I feel satisfied. I can't imagine how bad I'd have felt if I ate the whole thing and the fries AND the iced tea.

Good Workout today

Got my morning run in today. Went for 3 miles, 2 run/1 walk. Good improvement from yesterday.


Reasons to Work Out before Work

Why going for a run first thing in the morning is GREAT
- Nothing to get in the way of getting to the gym after work.
- Started out the day with an accomplishment
- Didn't need coffee to wake up.... had blood instead.
- Got up only 20 minutes earlier but missed ALL of the 405 traffic!
- Forces me to get organized the night before
- It just plain feels good to start the day off this way!

    I completely agree with you re: why exercising in the morning is great. No matter how poorly the rest of my day goes, I still feel that I accomplished something when I get a good morning workout in.

    Good job!! It's too dark here to walk in the morning so I do my exercising in the morning and then walk at night. But, yes, I love feeling that I have accomplished something before I even leave for work.
