I decided to eat lunch at my desk, and so while sitting here, I figured I would enter my meal in to the Nutrition Tracker before I dug in. Wow.... My best friend the Calorie Counter states that a Gyro is 630 calories! I hadn't even entered the fries or Iced Tea yet.
So, instead of eating those fries, I gave them away to the IT guys who are ALWAYS hungry. I cut off half of the Pita bread and threw it away. I scraped off half of the sauce. I figure that counts as 2/3rds of a Gyro.... 430 calories is more reasonable.
I am SO glad I did this. I ate a decent meal, but didn't go over my calories. I still have lots of room for a sensible dinner.
Now that I've been sitting here for 20 minutes I feel satisfied. I can't imagine how bad I'd have felt if I ate the whole thing and the fries AND the iced tea.
