Challenge starts tomorrow.

Friday, September 19, 2014

I am ready. San Marino is our first destination. Our first living the good life challenge is drinking water, it always is. I kind of wish they would do something different. It is always the same challenges. I have to step up my exercise.

I have my menu made through Friday of next week. I struggle with eating on days I do a flea market because you can only do so much for food. That is only one day out of the week though. I did reach all my nutritional goals, I just don't feel quite as satisfied as I do on days I am home to eat.

I have my bathing suits washed and my gym bag is packed. I put the exercises I do in the water into a grouping in the fitness tracker. Unfortunately, fitbit doesn't give me any very active minutes. I don't understand why because I am active but, I know what I do. My problem is I exercise, then I am sedentary the rest of the day. I have to find things to keep me active. Any ideas?

Have a great weekend.

Good luck with your challenge. If you have You Tube on your phone Leslie Sansone has 2 minute mini walk videos designed to do next to your desk at work that you might be able to do at your flea market. Good luck! emoticon

Wishing you all the best on your challenge this month! Sometimes for me when I'm sedentary I will put on some music and dance a little bit, do some jumping jacks, jog in place. I hope that helps a little bit. I think you're doing an awesome job! You're exercising and reaching your nutritional goals! That's fabulous! Woo hoo! I think you need to pat yourself on the back! I hope you have A wonderful weekend!

I have days where I am going intensive and get 2 fitbit active minutes and days where I feel I'm just going along at normal pace and get 30 active minutes so I gave up using my fitbit as indicator. I just count walks, videos, any actual workouts I do. I do count intensive cleaning, gardening and lawn mowing if I put a good workout in. I want to find some new activities to do during the fall challenge too. So ready to get started that's for sure! We can do it!

5% Fall Challenge

Monday, September 15, 2014

We received another assignment. This is one that I refuse to do. Actually I can't do it. emoticon The DVD thingamajigger in my computer is broken, it won't read a disc. Hahahahaha. I wouldn't do it anyway. We are suppose to take a picture before the challenge and then one after the challenge to notice the difference in our body. I am at goal, so I should just see a more toned body, hopefully. I don't let anyone take a picture of me and if I catch someone trying to I give them the finger and stick out my tongue. The only picture I have to sit for because I am threatened with bodily harm is the Christmas photo. I do that for my Mom, I would do anything for my Mom.

This is the beginning of a new week. Dream big. emoticon

You could still measure a difference by taking actual measurements, especially of your upper arm and calf/thigh leg areas. When you start to tone up, those areas start to shape up a bit faster than others I think. I've always enjoyed your Christmas pictures that you've shared.

So much for being profitable.

Sunday, September 14, 2014

Saturday was a complete waste of my time. Two people showed up and didn't buy anything. They were looking for something specific in earrings. I stayed for 3 hours then left. Today would have been a beautiful day for a flea market but I was in pain. My back was killing me, still is. I put a pain patch on and took some Advil. It has helped some but.......I figure that by next Sunday I should be alright.

I stayed home and did 3 loads of laundry. It did hurt hanging the clothes on the line. My Mom called, then Gary called. He is home from his cruise. I was surprised to hear from him. I thought he had another week but he will be home one day and then gone another 8. After that he will be home for 5 days. Maybe I can talk him into going for a pizza. I am craving a pizza.

Have a good week.

TGIF????

Friday, September 12, 2014

I am going to Kit's house tomorrow morning about 8:45 and set up for a tag sale. I put it on craigslist for 9:30. I hope this is not going to be a waste of time. I put my cell phone number because I didn't want people showing up early and bothering Kit and Louis. I have not received one phone call. I hope that isn't a bad sign.

Sunday is suppose to be a nice day and my Mom asked me to make sure I do a flea market. I haven't done one in awhile and she wants me to sell her scrubbies and Chuck wants me to sell his T-shirts. Everyone is giving me things to sell but I don't hear anyone offer to come and help me set up emoticon or even help me pay the fees. When I am going to do one I don't mind, I am doing it anyway, but to complain that you need spending cash and to ask me to do one. I know my Mom didn't do it, Chuck was behind it. My Mom never asked me to do one, Chuck is the one without any cash and he just gave me the shirts two weeks ago when I took them to lunch. I asked my Mom why doesn't Chuck come and do it with me and she laughed. When I have to use the bathroom, I have to trust someone to watch my table and the cash box. I could use another pair of eyes. Sometimes I think I am too nice. I am taking the KISS concert shirt for my troubles.

Thanks for listening to my rant. Writing it out did make me feel a little better. I am not taking anymore of his stuff if he can't come and help. Even if he came to help clean up. It is alot of work.

People don't realize how hard it is to set up tables at a flea market or antique market. You have to physically set up the table. Sometimes you have to bring your own, and your own chairs! Then you have to unpack all of your stuff and set it up. That all takes time. Then you have to sit there and watch it all. Yes you get to talk with lots of different people, and that IS interesting. But then, at the end of the day, you have to repack everything back up. It's hard. If your brother wants you to sell stuff for him, I would offer him a choice: either he comes with you and helps you set up, sell, and break down or you take a 30% cut of what you sell for him. See what happens.

Good luck on your tag sale tomorrow! I think you should tell Chuck if he doesn't want to help you then you're not doing it by yourself! It took me a long time to be able to say, "NO" to people. Sounds like people are really taking advantage of you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I can't believe you do all this without him helping. I'm such a push over I would do the same as you. But You should set the rules. If he wants you to sell his shirts he needs to either help you set, or help take it down. Good luck with the sell and getting him to help. Hugs Pat.

True story

Tuesday, September 09, 2014

I was at my Mom's yesterday. We were sitting around the table with my older niece Kim talking about the past. We were talking about Jack, her crazy cat. A stray cat had kittens in my landlord's garage it must have been 1998 or 1999. I was still doing the flea market and I rented a UHaul van on the weekends back then. Well, I backed into the garage door and that is how the cat got in to have the kittens. I talked my landlord into letting me take care of them and the mama until they were old enough to be adopted. I called the mama mama. Once I started feeding her, she knew where to come. She would sit at the bottom of the steps and meow until I would come down and feed her. She finally felt comfortable enough where she let me play with the kittens and she would sit under my car.

I called him Crazy Jack. He would run up my arm and sit on my neck. I am allergic to cats so I would take him down and put him back on the grass. No sooner his pays hit the grass and he was running back up my arm and sitting on my neck. I was sneezing, itching and broken out in hives for weeks. Finally the landlord saw that I was getting really attached to this kittens and told me to take them to Stanley Quarter Park and drown them in the pond. I cried and screamed at her not to touch my babies.

I gathered the kittens in one crate and got Mama in another and took them to my niece. She has a big yard and has all kinds of animals. She would keep them until they could leave Mama. She named Mama Sunny because she loved laying in the sun and renamed a lot of the kittens. She kept Sunny and Jack. Cats are suppose to hate water. Well, this crazy kitten Jack loves water and would run around the toilet seat and jump in the toilet bowl and swim. Kim would have to come and get him out. If Kim took a shower and Jack was not in his pen he would jump in the shower with her.

One night after work Kim had a dinner date and was taking a shower to get ready. She told Carey where the key was and to just let himself in. Kim was in the shower with Jack. Imagine Cary's surprise when he hears Kim yelling Jack stop it. I told you not to do that. I am going to make you get out of the shower if you don't stop it. The poor guy didn't know what to do. He was going to leave, but Kim turned off the shower and he didn't want her to hear him so he just sat on the couch. She opened up the bathroom door and told the cat to scat downstairs she had to get dressed. So here came the cat prancing down the stairs, fur standing up from being wet. The cat jumped up on the couch and onto the sill where he loves to lay and watch what is going on outside. She yelled downstairs Jack you better not be on my sofa. All of a sudden Carey just started laughing. So you're Jack he said.

Kim still has Jack, Carey they were together until about a year ago. That proves an animal's love is unconditional.
