#@##!&&&%% Food Tracker

Aargghhhhh! Tell me it isn't true!!! I knew there was a reason I avoided that food tracker thingee!!! It turned my low-fat lobster dinner into a caloric nightmare just because I garnished it with a stick of melted butter. And, what about those french fries I ate at the local diner??? I dipped them in low-fat ranch...doesn't that counteract the deep-fat frying??? What about the late-night snack I ate over the sink...didn't the calories go down the drain???

Okay, my first day of tracking everything that went into my mouth was an eye opener? I ate a lot more than I thought I did. I can see now why the pounds are just melting away. Shocking, revealing, but worth the effort!

    Oh my gosh - your post, and KateinMichigan's reply truly made me laugh out loud.

It does help to keep our sense of humor through this journey, though - doesn't it? I need to remind myself of that sometimes!

Good first step, though. It is an eye opener, isn't it?

    YUup. I went to Panera and thought I was being all good, eating SOUP and 1/2 sandwich. NOt even a BOWL -- a cup of soup.

NINE. HUNDRED. Calories.

BTW: I commented on your blog because anybody who swears at the food tracker is a potential best friend. :-)

    OH, girl, I have been THERE!! The first time I tracked, I seriously considered running away and crying and hiding under a bed - assuming I could fit. Count this as a solid learning experience and start fresh all over.

Day 1 - Back on the Wagon

I lost 24 pounds, but regained 12. I recently suffered a stress fracture to my foot. This gave me a convenient excuse to sit around and eat. Coupled with no exercise, the end result was weight gain. So I am restarting my efforts to get that healthy lifestyle I want. No more excuses!

Exercise will be swimming...so no problems with the foot! Put my weight loss goals on the refrigerator!

Hopefully, joining and participating in some groups will help me. No more non-commital lurking around this site!

    Hey. I started this in January and I was doing so well till the beginning of March when I fell down the stairs and fractured my ankle. I've had a few other things going on that are life changing also so the whole 'get fit and healthy' thing went out the window.

But, like you, I'm back and hopefully I can summon the same determination you have.
