Changing up my workouts

I have hit a plateau and need to change my routine

Mondays - 45 min Pilates and 30 min Cardio
Tuesday - Cardio Circuit Training
Wednesday 45 min Pilates and 60 min Strength training
Thursday - Spin 45 minutes
Saturday - 50 min Carfusion (combo of cardio and strength) Class and Yoga

Started this week 2/22/10 with new schedule. Circuit traning and carfusion classes kick my butt!

Goal is to burn 3,000 calories a week. Get back to portion control and drinking 8 glasses a day. Stop snacking at night. Report back in one week 3/4/10.

My New Year

January 8, 2010 I have had 7 days to ponder my goals for the year. I may not acheive them all but I will work towards them one day at a time. I posted them on my Sparkpage to remind me daily for the coming months.

I listed them in order of importance:
1. Run a mile
2. Fit into a size smaller pant
3. Train for a mini-triathlon
4. Work towards a positive body image and be comfortable in my new body.

I will continue my journey of self-discovering and reap the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Summer is Over!

Fall, a new season. For me every season challenges my positive attitude, emotions,and habits.

*Summer with its longer days, more outdoor activities, fresh veggies and grilling staying on course is easier.

*Fall with the shorter days, more time indoors, and warm comfort foods brings a shift in my thinking.

These seasonal changes bring different schedules and adjustments of my activities and food. If I do not review my current status then I tend to take back my old habits. It is a slippery slop...bargaining portions, not recording my food, and the overall ambivalence of my healthy lifestyle and goals.

I have done the following things...

Took a food inventory of my fridge and cabinets
Went grocery shopping to restock healthy items
Change up my exercise program....I have taken up swim lessons!
Record weight and measurements

Things I need to do....

Research for new recipes
Journal, Journal, Journal everyday!!!
Create new goals for the next three months....


I look forward to the new season and a renewed motivation to obtain my goals!

  I love fall cooking!! I've got a big book of soups and stews, and can eat hearty meals with fewer calories because of all the liquid in the soup!

It's been a month already....

I cannot believe it has been more than a month I placed a blog entry. I have to say the yo-yo of a few pounds lost and gain is happening again. However, I believe I know where I am lacking. My weekends are when I slack on my calorie count. I must be more aware during the weekend that I choose wisely and know my portion size even if I cannot measure. I could bring my scale to the restaurant, but I will save my family the embarrassment and use the tools SparkPeople has given me to determine the correct portion.

I will not think negative thoughts and stay positive in my journey.

I have the rest of my life to get it right!!!! emoticon

  


Changing my attitude!

This is my first blog entry, so here it goes. I had my first experience with a family function and the food which accompanies every family celebration. It was difficult finding food I felt comfort eating and yet stay in my calorie range. I am proud to say I did well with the first day. The second day was more difficult because I did not have access to a computer to start my day with Sparkpeople. However I stayed away from the food I knew were empty calories.

I did not feel deprived of any food because I knew I always had the choice to eat whatever I wanted, but I just chose not to. This thinking is a huge change for me. I have to stay the course and the end results is how I feel about myself which in turn will reflect on the scale....
