Done with Fast Break and 7 pounds lighter

I just moved from Fast Break to the Healthy Diet Habits stage and am still super excited about this diet. I have never had enthusiasm for a diet last this long. And losing 7 pounds by the end of three weeks has certainly helped. I know my weight loss will probably slow down a bit now, but I am excited to be integrating healthy lifestyle changes which I know will be key in making the permanent changes I am striving for.

Down 4 lbs at the end of Week 1

Yesterday was the end of Week #1 and I am down 4 pounds! I know the first 10 pounds come off easiest, but I am still very excited. I've really started to get a handle on my diet the last few days and working out is going very well. I had a hard time figuring out what foods I could eat to meet all of my different nutrition goals and I finally met ALL of them yesterday, which made me feel very good.

Anyhow, here's to an awesome Week #2 and hopefully saying goodbye to another 4 pounds!

My Yoga class was cancelled tonight :(

I rushed to make and eat dinner before I left for yoga, then someone wanted to come look at our house (we're buying a house and our landlord is trying to rent out the house we're in now) and she blocked me in my garage while my husband showed her around. I finally get to the gym and am pulling the kids and ALL of our gear out of the car when my friend calls and says that she's already inside and the class was cancelled. I didn't even have my gym shoes on since I wasn't planning on doing any cardio, so I couldn't even go in and do some kind of workout. My 4-year-old was so upset because he loves to go to the kids club. Here's hoping Thursday's class goes smoother.

I think I am starting to really get in the groove of my diet. I'm nearing the end of my first full week and am feeling pretty good about it. I have been having a hard time getting enough calories and protein. I bought some snacks at the market a few days ago and I think that has helped with my calories. I just didn't have any diet-appropriate snacks, so I was only eating at meal times and just couldn't hit the 1200 calorie mark. I also started drinking my husband's protein powder and that has helped the last two days with both calories and protein. I'm feeling very confident that this time next week I will be in a pretty good place nutrition-wise.

Not feeling so hot today

I did not eat enough yesterday and I think I am paying for it today! I didn't have time to eat much yesterday before I went to work, so all I had were two fried eggs and a cup of coffee. Then at work (I work in a restaurant), I only get one 10 minute break to eat which isn't much time either, so all I had was a cup of cream of chicken soup. I meant to eat another cup before I had to go back, but I ended up talking about diet stuff while I ate and 10 minutes was gone in no time. Thankfully, I got to go home a little early. I only ended up getting about 850 calories total yesterday. At home I didn't want to eat anything heavy because it was getting late and I didn't have much in the house (I need to go grocery shopping) so I kept grazing on Kashi cereal, granola, and veggies but I couldn't get enough to eat.

So anyhow, this morning I woke up and felt soooo sick to my stomach. The first thing my husband said was that I didn't eat enough yesterday. By the time I got downstairs to eat I did have to throw up. I ate some cereal and a glass of water and I finally feel better. Here's to a much better day nutrition-wise!! I am taking the kids to get their Easter pictures done and that's all the running around I'll be doing so hopefully being home more will help me today.

Hungry today!

So today is Day #3 on my diet and fitness plan here on SP. The last two days have not been difficult at all, but I was really hungry today. I was just at home today with no errands to run or anything and I think that made it harder. I have found that as much as I don't like to admit it, I eat when I am bored. I don't eat a lot at once, but I'll keep going back to the kitchen every hour or so looking for a snack when I'm home all day. So today I didn't have any "impulse snacking" but it was hard to resist! And then after all my battles with that this afternoon, my husband called on the way home and said that he was starving and didn't want for me to make dinner so he was going to stop at Carl's Jr. I almost said "grab a western bacon cheeseburger for me" I mean that would have been the easy thing to do, but I told him to just get food for himself and the kids and I would eat something at home. He then calls me while in the drive-thru to tell me something important and then proceeds to say that they have a new Kentucky Bourbon Six Dollar Burger and reads off the ingredients on the poster. I hung up on him at onion straws, LOL. When he got home he apologized and said that he forgot that I was dieting.
My son Tommy was really good today and my husband wanted some Sweet Tarts so we took a walk to the liquor store for some candy as a reward for Tommy. I got a Caramello bar for myself and only ate one small square and put the rest in a ziplock for another day. That was a small victory as I really almost talked myself into eating at least half of it, but I didn't!!
So long story short, I am doing really well today and am staying on my diet, but it's been a little tough. I ate only a piece of chicken for dinner and I still have 372-722 calories left according to my Nutrition Tracker. I am about to head out to the treadmill in the garage for my workout, so I guess I will have a protein bar and a glass of milk beforehand, that should get me about 400 more calories.

    Nice work avoiding the fast food and only eating part of the candy bar! Now THAT is dedication!! I don't know if I could stop when the whole candy bar was in front of me!!! :-) I completely agree with you about eating when bored. This week the school's I work at had Spring Break, so I had a lot more time on my hand and I found myself thinking about food and wandering to the kitchen. Luckily, I don't really have any junk food around. That is HUGE! I try to drink some water and then, if I still think I'm hungry, I'll munch some carrots or let myself indulge and have a little spoonful of natural peanut butter. At least it's chock full of protein!! Keep up with the good work! emoticon
