Prayers also JOB

Sunday, June 05, 2011

The best friend to my GS was found in the tornado with his mom on top of him who died trying to save him. He has brain injuries which they have done surgery on him . They haven't told him his mother is dead yet. He keeps asking for his mom and asking where she is and what happened to her. He lost everything. My DD is collecting toys and games for him when he gets out of the hospital. If you could pray for this boy. His name is Chaz. Right now he's in the KC children's hospital. I"m sure his family and he will appreciate it.

Also today the preacher read out of the book of JOB in the first chapter and it talked about the storms that killed his sheep and workers and JOB worshiped God and he blessed him 3 times. Don't blame God for storms. Hope

Chaz must be at Children's Mercy Hospital. He is in good hands. This is a fantastic hospital. I will keep him in my prayers.

Was his mother named Grace? If so, I read about her in the obituary column in Joplin last week. He is in our prayers.

I will remember young Chaz in prayer, that he will completely recover. What a beautiful legacy that loving Mom gave her son. After all the tears have been shed, the joy of the Lord shall be their strength. What love she had in her heart for her child. She must have been filled with joy, knowing she was able to cover him, and give her life for him, as Jesus loved us and gave his life for us.
Thankyou for sharing this story. emoticon emoticon

walking

Friday, May 27, 2011

Well we don't have a treadmill or a bike but hopefully I'll be able to get one at a garage sale if they have any here after the storm. I've been walking to and from the church each day so I've been getting in around 30 min. each day. That helps a lot. Weather is improving. It's getting sunny and I've heard on the news today they may get the trolley's up and running again. They can't go very far. LOL Hope

30 minutes of walking is good. Not as much as you want but "under the circumstance...tornado...." it's something! I'm glad that the sun is out. Thanks for the updates. HUGS.

anxiety

Thursday, May 26, 2011

I have had anxiety about tornado's ever since I went through one years ago. I would always pay attention to the sirens that went off etc. I guess some people used to say I was schitzo because of my fear of another one hitting. Now some people understand my fear after going through it themselves with this big one hitting. I guess I feel a type of justification in being afraid and not being alone anymore in how I feel. Hope

Hope, fears and anxiety(if not excessive) are a good thing... they are how our body make us aware of impending danger & to ignore those warnings without reason is foolish. I've never been through a tornado (except we now know the eye of any hurricane is made up of multiple tornadoes), however, I've been through many hurricanes(FL... KeyWest) & earthquakes (CA).One fast becomes a respecter of nature. My prayer are with your community and specifically with you and your family! emoticon

I have never been through a tornado, but I certainly do understand your feelings. I get very anxious and nervous too if there is severe weather in our area.

About 11 years ago we had a very bad windstorm, which I thought at the time was tornado. At that the time the mobile home I was living in was not tied down (though I didn't know it at the time). I remember it woke me up around 5am, I was so scared; I heard a chair hit the side of my house, the lights went out, and I was standing in my hallway shaking like a leaf and holding my cat and trying to find information on the radio at the same time. One of my neighbors had a tree fall into the middle of her house from that storm.

I think that it is normal to have a cautious "fear" of tornadoes when the sirens are blaring. I am from Nebraska so have heard plenty of sirens. I've never been in a tornado though. HUGS to you as you depend your Lord to calm your anxieties. You can minister to those around you.

ANYONE SHOULD BE AFRAID OF TORNADO'S......... PLUS ONCE THEY HIT ONE PLACE.... THEY ARE KNOWN TO COME BACK...... ANYONE WHO DOESN'T TAKE COVER WHEN A TORNADO IS COMING...... IS JUST CRAZY........

I understand. I don't get overly anxious but I do prepare if I have enough warning. this has been a really rough season and I hope to never see a repeat of it. emoticon

exercise

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

They turned our exercise room where my apt. is into a storage room for housing which lost its building in the tornado. Our treadmill is broken. Also PSR where I went to 4 days a week is closed because of the tornado. They had circuit training there at the Y 4 days a week. I need a bike to get around town and to exercise with. I"m going down fast where exercise is concerned. It's pouring out so its hard to walk in the city. Hope

Hope, if all else is unavailable try listening to, or better yet, singing and moving to old gospel hymns and worship choruses. It will also help you emotionally as well as spiritually! emoticon

Thanks for the update. What does PSR mean? Also, did part of your complex get hit...thus needing the storage area for some of the contents of the building? I'm so glad that YOU and your family are ok. Do you have halls in the building that you can walk in? I often just watch TV and walk in place. It can't replace your bike but it's something.
