Hello my sparklies! I got in such a hurry to get out the door to go see my Hunter this morning that I forgot to weigh! Oh well, I will do it in the morning. We had a fabulous day today! Might have been a little much for baby girl! But Hunter was a great little trouper! We shopped, had lunch and shopped some more! :) All in all, it was an awesome day! On the downside, I didn't get as many photos today as I would have liked, but there is always next weekend!
I hope that you all had a great day! Pooh is ready to watch some football! Go Bama! :)
Good morning my lovely sparkies! I just wanted to say a quick hello and tell you that I hope you are all having a super week! I have been a little lax this week with the gym. Still trying to get into the groove of things with back to school, homework and all that! Due to my Algebra class at lunchtime, I have had to cut out the second walk of the day at work. But I have been running around enough on the job lately to make up for it!
I am renewing my spark daily and I hope that you are all doing the same! I was happy to see that my friend feed for the most part is all positive comments and status updates!I am always happy to read that you are all still motivated and pushing yourselves! It helps to keep me in check! :)
I am looking forward to this weekend's visit with Hunter and baby girl #1(yes, even more so than usual) as I am finally getting to take them out of the house and into the world! We are going to hit some stores for a little light shopping and then go to lunch. Hopefully, Nana's little man will be free of gas and having a good day on Saturday! This will be his first trip out in public since his birth almost 6 weeks ago! He will be just shy of 6 weeks old when we venture out on Saturday! Baby girl tells me that he has his shoes and is ready to shop with Nana! :
Have a great rest of the week my spark friends! I hope you all have Monday (Labor Day) off as I do! Long weekend, here we come! :)
Ok, so I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and had to go back to bed for a while to correct my grumpiness! Luckily no one was up and around for me to now have to apologize to! :)
This story starts about lunchtime yesterday when they announced that public schools in our area will be closed due to tropical storm Isaac. Woo Hoo for Piglet! But unfortunately my college (where I work and go to school) will be open! No biggie. I have had a good weekend and am ready to start the week. So, I go to bed at my regular time (around 11pm) after checking our website to be sure that I still have to get up for work in the morning. Then low and behold 6 hours later when I wake I check the website again and sure enough they have closed my work/school and now I am up for nothing! Grrr!! There are no massive winds. It is barely even raining here, but the college is closed now! I check the news. There have been no new updates on the storm and other than the tornado warnings, nothing had changed from yesterday! Why could they not just have announced the closure at the same time as the public schools?!! Idiots! Too sleepy to see through the fog in my brain and see the gift horse, I go back to bed!
I awoke not long ago to a much improved attitude about my extra (PAID) day off from work! And am now thankful for another day at home with Pooh! I hope that everyone has a great Monday! I plan to now! :)
Piglet says that we look better in the after picture! lol. I told her that was because we were more awake and full of energy after! :)
My time: 25:40
Piglet's time: 25:47 (as she was casually strolling behind me) :)
We can't wait to do it again!
FYI . . . the 5K was in memory of fallen soldiers. My soldier's name was Pfc. Michael C Mahr. I googled him when I got home and found that he was a soldier who died March 22, 2011, while serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was 26 years old and from Homosassa, Fla. What a privilege! Thank you Michael! May you R.I.P.
Thanks for the great comments ladies! The race was a walk/run and just so you know, I am sure of my time as there was a clock at the finish line. :) A 5k is only 3.1 miles (about from my house to work) which I know would only take me 30-35 minutes with traffic and at a moderate pace. I do not know my exact pace during the race (but it figures out to be a little over 8 minutes per mile), but I know that I was not leisurely strolling yet not jogging or running either. Also, there were no traffic signals to slow me down. :)
Oh wow! So tomorrow morning is the 5K walk! Baby girl and I are doing our first one ever! I just hope to not be the last one crossing the line! :) If I know baby girl (and I think I know her) she will see others running and take off like a shot. Good thing we have a group of walkers for me to linger with! lol So long as that tropical storm out there doesn't totally mess up the morning we will be on our way to the walk/run site at 8am. Wish me luck ya'll. :) I hope that you all have something exciting planned for tomorrow.
