Can you believe it's been almost 3 months since I joined Spark People? So how have I changed?

** I have lost 3" off my waist, another 3" off my hips and 2" off my thighs!
** The car seat belt fits more comfortably.
** I choose to climb stairs over taking the elevator.
** I don't huff and puff like I used to.
** Far fewer heat rashes.
** Most of my clothes are too big.
** I do cardio exercise almost daily. I do take occasional days off. :)
** I do strength training 3x a week now. My arm muscles are bigger than Pooh's. (He hates that! lol But always tell me to show him my "guns"):)
** Walk daily.
** I'm much more comfortable in public. I no longer think everyone is looking at me and judging me.
** The idea of not exercising every day seems foreign.
** For the first time ever, I am setting goals and reaching them!
** For the first time in my life, I do not doubt my ability to reach my weight loss goals.
** I love myself more. I may not like how my body looks just yet, but I still love myself.

    Jackie, you are doing so great!! I find that it helps to sit back and take stock of how far we've come. We Jackies are rocking this healthy lifestyle change!! Woohoo!! Goals, here we come.

Good morning my lovely sparkers! I hope you are all up and at it already. I am dusting off the sleep still. Stayed up till 2am again watching movies! Batman this time! Just can't pass up "quality" time with Pooh! lol :) So naturally I did not rise early today as planned!

Oh well! I will shake it off soon! I am heading out to see my little man today! ::cheesy grin:: I will be posting lots of new pics upon my return! :)

The scale revealed a one pound loss this week! Woo Hoo! Small victory, but pretty good considering that I ate a lot of junk this week! But I have my mind set to do better next week! :)

Well, that's my update! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! :)

::UPDATE - After visiting my little man! He is still so precious! Can't wait till next weekend!! ::

Ten things I love about Me! :)

Stolen from my sweet Pea!

My list of ten things I love about myself:

1. I have a great sense of humor.
2. I am very creative.
3. I am smart.
4. I am beautiful.
5. I can sing (karaoke, anyway).
6. I am a fabulous cook.
7. I am a terrific Mom!
8. I am a great listener.
9. I am very loving.
10. I am sympathetic.

Ok, it was not as hard as I thought it would be!

My mini targets are as follows:

1. Lose 10 more pounds!
2. Do 30 minutes of exercise per day.
3. Enjoy at least 30 minutes of “me time” per day.
4. Thank the Lord every day for what he has given to me.
5. Sit less at work!

They are my mini targets for the next month, so just watch and see, I will be 13 lbs lighter by September 3rd! Thanks Pea! ;)

    I liked this blog! I have the same problem with sitting at work too much... spark had an article not too long ago on it. One of the tips I found useful was to drink a ton of water.... you have to use the bathroom more therefor are up and around more. I try to go downstairs every time.... just thought I'd share a tip I found useful.

Hello my sparkly friends! Today was the first day back at the gym since last Wednesday! Great workout! I am still amazed by how awake and energized I feel when I am done! :) I hope that everyone is still getting some satisfaction out of your own workouts.

Plotting a happy, spark-filled day today! Really going to watch my calories today as yesterday was so stinky that I took it out on myself and had way too many calories! But, that is normal for me during times of stress. I never could understand people who starve themselves when they are stressed. I just feel like eating everything in sight! Which probably explains why I weigh what I do! :)

    i never feel deprived anymore, i never sit and dwell on what i cant have, i just think about all the great things i can have.
and i think about how good i feel after a walk, and after a healthy meal.
why did it take me so long to get my mind right?

Motivation and Support

Hmmm . . . I may lose a few spark friends here, but this needs to be said. I apologize in advance to the those of you that this post does not apply to! I may even be a little cranky today because Pooh is being a jerk! Anyway, here goes!

I began a spark page because this site has a community of people who are also trying to lose weight and therefore we have common ground. Some of us have more in common than others, but I try to be fair and supportive and say hello to ALL my spark friends daily as a way to encourage (and to be honest, just friendly) ! It is in my nature. :)

Do I need to or really have time to spend 45 minutes checking all 62 friends pages daily (or every other day)? NO! But I make the time because it could be the difference in someone giving up on themselves and not!

Here is my point! If my frequent posts to your page annoy you . . please remove me as your spark friend. It will save me time. I hate to be blunt, but I received an email today saying that my emails (I do not generally email individuals- must be coming from sparkpeople - because I get tons too!) were annoying and could I please limit my posts to once a week!

My response to that was to remove that individual from my list. Sorry, but I do not wish to be chastised like a child simply because I was being friendly and thinking that I was helping, even being supportive and encouraging! So, rather than take it out on everybody and not post at all, I would prefer that the people annoyed simply remove themselves from my group!

To all my girls, you know who you are! Sorry for the rant! Please also know that I do not expect my spark friends to post on my page all the time, unless they feel like it! :)

    I appreciate your frequent posts and don't want you to change. I love your regular visits as they keep me going. Living with an often depressed person I yearn for positive energy and an upbeat attitude. Keep the messages/ posts coming my positive, sparky friend.

    As the saying goes, you can please some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. Forget the negative one, you are great, beautiful and awesome, your spirit shines through your blog posts and your comments. I for one am glad for another like minded person like myself. SOme people thrive in negativity so they're basically allergic to positive people and it bothers them because they can't find it in themselves. That said, thats their deal don't let it be yours. SO many of us here appreciate you so never change. We can all get busy and I choose to focus only my friends like you who actually comment now and then. I support alot so sometimes it can kind of bite when you don't get it back. So I say don't change, you have a great family who loves you and other friends like me and the ones above who value you. Who loves their HoneyB...I do! emoticon You are emoticon!

    WoW! I don't understand that person at all. I LOVE hearing from you and worry when I don't. I can feel down and see something your wrote even in my darkest times and I at least smile.
PLEASE don't let them bring you down. I know I need to hear from you... I love knowing what is going on and things you have changed or tried.....

    There is no reason for you to apoplogize. This site was made so people can support each other on achieving their goals to loose weight and to live a healthier life and one of the most important features is connecting to other people with the same goals and motivate them.
I love your support by posting on my page, even if it is 'only' a quick hello.
So don't worry about these things because I'm sure that most of your friends on your page appreciate your encouraging words.

    I love that you stop by and say something encouraging. Sometimes, I feel bad that I do not spend as much time encouraging you as you spend encouraging me. You're so dedicated!

Re: the emails, I just changed my settings so I don't get emails for every little thing that happens on Spark. I am trying to figure out how to only get the emails that have a link in them to get points for reading emails (grinning).

If people are bothered by your encouragement, they aren't the right people to have as your sparkfriends!

    I think it's awesome and don't you dare change! I wish I had more friends like you. Of my 43 friends only 6-7 are actually active and post regularly. I am seriously on here all day, I just keep the window minimized and whenever I get a quiet minute I pull it up and see what's new on my friend feed. emoticon
