Day Eight

Sunday, July 22, 2012

Good morning my lovely sparkers! I hope you are all up and at it already. I am dusting off the sleep still. Stayed up till 2am watching movies! Transformers of all things! But I couldn't bring myself to go to bed in the middle of the last movie (even if Pooh did fall asleep right after putting the movie on!!) So naturally I did not rise early today!

Oh well! I will shake it off soon and begin my day! I will have to break out the Leslie dvds sometime today to get my workout in. It is super hot outside already! So I am not going out in it if I can help it!

Still no sign of Hunter! Guess he is going to be a typical first born and stay in there as long as they will let him! Much to my daughter's dismay. Poor baby girl! :(

As to the big breakfast diet, yesterday was pretty much the same as the rest of the week, no food cravings until almost dinner time. Guess we will see what the week brings. :)

Well, that's my update! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! :)

Have a fantastic day! I will be getting to my Leslie workout today too! lol

I too have been up late way to much and slept in over the last few days watching movies, series and playing the game with my hubby. I understand where you are coming from.

As for Hunter arriving they are so unpredictable..... and as you know it continues throughout their life. I carried both my boys in the Summer heat with NO ac because of where we lived when they were born, they both came a week early.
I hope your daughter is feeling well and not miserable.

Enjoy your day... thanks for reply with info on my blog.

For once, I was up early, trying to get some gardening done before the sun hit that part of the yard. emoticon
I put in a gerbera daisy for MY baby girl. It's her favorite flower and always reminds me of her. She lives on the other side of the country now, but she's coming home Labor Day weekend, right around my BDay.
Can't wait to see her! emoticon

Tell your daughter to enjoy these last few days as a twosome.
Hope she's feeling okay with the heat you're having. TG for AC!

Have a wonderful Sunday and thanks for the hula hoop goodie. Used to be great at that. Not so much anymore!

Hugs to your daughter! My daughter was so tired of being pregnant all this month. Her due date was 7/20, yet her Hunter came at 1:08 a.m. on 7/19. Good thing, too, as he was a big boy at 8 lb 8.5 oz!

Day Seven

Saturday, July 21, 2012

Good morning ya'll. I am still shaking off the funk that I woke up in this morning after hearing last night that a dear friend (like a father) from my past life had passed away. He was a dear, sweet man who's life was not all that great. But he was always there for me when I needed a shoulder. Having been in a coma for most of this year as a result of a motorcycle wreck, I know that he is in a better place now. May he rest in peace.

My weigh-in this morning revealed that I have lost 1 lb this week! I am back down to 235 lbs. So, obviously I have not gained weight eating the big breakfasts, but I have also not done any better than before this new diet. I am going to see what next week brings before switching back to my healthier foods. I will tell you that I have not followed the diet to the letter either! I have found it difficult this week to eat dinner like a pauper! Dinner time is time with the family and I usually eat a little healthier than they eat, while still eating basically the same foods. Take last night for example, pizza was not eating like a pauper. I did have more salad than pizza, but pizza was not on the big breakfast diet!

I am going to strive to do better this week by following the diet rules by eating lighter at dinner. I shopped yesterday with this idea in mind! I purchased meals for Pooh and Piglet that I do not partake of, purposely so that I will not be tempted and can stick to my own diet! I also purchased lots of good healthy berries and fruits for lunch and dinner (and the occasional snack). :) Wish me luck!

I hope that everyone has a happy and productive weekend!

I am so very sorry for the loss of your friend. My prayers are with you and the family.

Congrats for certain on the 1 pound re loss. I hope you will find what you need to balance and continue with your weight loss journey be the the big breakfast or now.
It great you are finding the healthy foods and stocking up on them.
I know what you mean about not eating like a pauper at dinner.... it is a difficult task. For me if I eat to light at dinner I wake up in the middle of the night or don't sleep well.

Have a healthy weekend!

    Great cartoon! How silly!

I'm sorry about your friend. Hugs!

Interesting to see that the big breakfast diet allowed you to still lose a pound. Floors me (grin).

So sorry to hear of your friend's passing. I hope his family is finding some peace.

I like Victory2's comment that food has no power over us. Absolutely right! We ALLOW food to have that power. We CHOOSE to tie our emotions into eating.

Your experiment with the Big Breakfast diet is interesting. I, too, would have trouble eating a small dinner, since those are the calories that hold me from early evening to morning. Next week's results should tell the real story about this approach to meal planning. Enjoy!

Have a nice weekend. emoticon

Love your cartoon at the beginning of your blog!

So very sorry to hear about your loss. Your right, though, he is in a better place now.

Losing 1 pound is great. I have an awful time getting the scale to go in the right direction!

Tracking your food, evening though it is not food on the suggested food list, is still a good way to be aware of what you eat.

Terrific shopping trip with all those healthy goodies!

Remember, food is an inanimate object. It has no power over you. Only you decide whether this inanimate object passes your lips! Be strong.

I do wish you luck in the coming week.

Best wishes to you,

Denise

Day Six

Friday, July 20, 2012

Morning my spark pals! :) Tomorrow will be the end of the first week of the Big Breakfast Diet! I AM going to continue with the second week, but only to see if there are any real differences in the weight loss or feeling of fullness. I do not feel that one week of trying it would be a true test. Up till now, I only feel as if the big breakfasts have curbed the need for my healthy 10am and 3pm snacks! I have been tracking an overall higher calorie intake, but the results so far seem to be the same as the last 2 months. Although, I will tell you that I have found it hard to maintain the high calorie eating. My breakfast calories have gotten smaller and smaller as the days have past. My body does not like or appear to need such large amounts of food to feel full! I have not noticed any great differences in food cravings at night or dramatic weight loss (according to my sneaky peeks at the scale) either! If I continue to lose only 1-2lbs per week, I might as well revert to what I was eating before. The foods on my plan were a lot healthier! It is not healthy to consume such big portions of eggs or eat cakes, cookies and brownies in everyday eating!

Well, that's my update for day six! I hope you all have a wonderful Friday! Yay! Friday! :)

THERE'S A CERTAIN HIGH-FIBRE OATMEAL THAT I EAT FOR BREAKFAST WITH SKIM MILK, 1 SPLENDA AND CINNAMON, THAT, IN RETROSPECT, MIGHT BE HELPING ME NOT TO BINGE.

I NEVER THOUGHT OF IT LIKE THAT BEFORE.

I think that people are more apt to be successful when they're comfortable with what they are eating and when they are eating it. I have to agree that it's not healthy to consume a diet high in saturated fats and sugar, and high in sodium, as well.

I agree. Unless you notice a dramatic difference, go back to the way you were eating before. A healthier lifestyle is the goal and that means healthier food choices. At least you know that an occassional big breakfast isn't going to derail you.

Well at least you tried it and now you know it isn't for you. I thought about it, while I like eating like that on the weekends sometimes, it would be too much for me daily. So just keep trying to do what works for you. I love the way you keep it interesting though. I'm am still drooling over the plate with grits...hmmm! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I did a little research and found for me it was not going to work. I am not a breakfast person but some of the food shocked me *LOL*.
Anyway... I admire you for trying something new. I hope you get some results that make you happy.
I hope you have a spark filled Friday!

Day Five

Thursday, July 19, 2012

Good morning my sparklys! :) Aunt Lucy is dragging me down this morning, but I am starting to get in the groove. I can feel the distant spark! :)

Also, I peeked at the scale this morning and the scale reflects my original weigh-in from the Saturday before vaca! Woo Hoo! Hopefully by Saturday I will have my one pound additional loss! Breakfast was good! Filling, but only 600 calories today.

Yesterday went the same as Tuesday, I was full all day until it started getting close to dinner time. Need to watch which yogurts that I am buying though! I didn't realize that I had grabbed the highest calorie yogurt in the entire store! Dummy! So, I was a little over on my calories for the day.

Had a exciting finish to the work day yesterday! I found my girl Leslie Sansone on YouTube and did a quick 10 minutes of her routine while packing up for the day! ::cheesy grin::

I hope you all have a fab Thursday! I am planning to rock this one out! :)
