Okay...what happens is this:
I get up late in the morning (because I don't go to bed usually until 3AM or so because I try not to disturb my husband while he is sleeping) I have bi-polar so I'm currently in manic mode and require only 4 to 6 hours sleep anyway. When I get up, I'm generally not hungry, but since I started Sparkpeople, I have made an effort every day to eat breakfast; usually cereal, milk and fresh citrus fruit. (I love Quaker Oat Squares or Natures Path Flax with Pumpkin seed cereals) By then it's about 11:30AM so I head for the computer. I check in on my Sparkpage and Sparkmail and then I check the Sparkmail that I receive at my email address. By the time I'm finished with that, its 3:00 or later. I have to start fixing dinner for my husband because he wants to eat as soon as he gets home from work (usually around 4:00PM) So, unless I get up earlier, I don't have a lunch time, I go straight from breakfast to dinner. I usually have a huge dinner. Sometimes if I have gotten up earlier and I do get hungry, I will eat a bagel w/cream cheese and a fruit of some kind to tide me over so I can eat with my husband (at his request)...my favorite dinner that I eat about 3 times a week is; lettuce (2 cups chopped)then 4 oz of drained white albacore tuna. between 5 and 6 baby pickled beets cut up, 1 medium pickle (chopped), and 2 tablespoons of mayo mixed with pickle juice for a salad dressing (I'm weird I know, but that's what I like) Then I have 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese and a bagel w/1 oz cream cheese and an apple. That's a lot of food! I'm stuffed for the rest of the day. Sometimes I save my apple for later, but more often than not, I forget to eat it later then I'm a fruit short! That doesn't have enough calories according to the nutrition guide. Sooo, today I added fresh tomato to the salad. Some of you really thin people could live a couple days on this, but because I'm a big girl, my calories are a lot. However, they are about the same as what my doctor recommends. Anyways, I digress again, after dinner; my husband wants me to spend time with him until he goes to bed. My son has been staying with us too, so I cook him and my husband something different than what I am having (they don't like salad everyday. I do) then its evening and I head back to the PC and while away the time as quietly as I can until my husband gets up and leaves for work, then I'm off to bed. That is a typical day around here. It will change as soon as my hubby quits working, (which won't be long now). Then I should be able to have a normal day (whatever normal is). So see? I'm not cutting down on my calories deliberately.
