The Devil at the Gym

Thursday, April 01, 2010

I currently have 1,666 fitness minutes! I'm the most devoted atheist I know, but it just seems wrong to go into Good Friday with THE DEVIL'S NUMBER worth of fitness minutes... so I'm off to the gym!

Today's Goals

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

I think I need to articulate my goals in order to actually get them done.

1. Clean hall.
2. Vacuum hall, kitchen and living room.
3. Mop hall and kitchen.
4. Clean bedroom.
5. Vacuum bedroom.

Really, it's only about forty-five minutes of work. But at my pace, it's gonna take all day!

We all complain about housework and how onerous/boring/repetitive/ unappreciated it is, but rarely does someone actually write down the # of minutes that it will actually take. We are petty little creatures, aren't we? We should just buck up and do it

That's funny because I am going in right now to clean and vacuum our bedroom! It is the last chore for me today too!

I am bushed....

Biggest Loser, Biggest No-No! Warning! Danger!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

I just watched Bob take hot stir-fry straight from the wok, put it into a plastic ziplock bag, seal it and stick it in the freezer!

That is a BIG food safety no-no! I almost puked!

To be safe, you should always let your food cool down in a heat-safe dish (perhaps the one it was cooked in!) on the counter. Only when it reaches room temperature should you put it inside plastic and then into the fridge or freezer.

When Bob stuck the bag in the freezer there already appeared to be bags in there. Maybe it was from a totally different batch of foods but I it didn't seem like the bag "fogged" up like it would if the food was still warm. I really didn't even think about it until reading your post.

Seems Biggest Loser gives some bad advice...another example is eating at Subway. While it is much better than eating at other fast food places generally, the sodium levels are super high.

I Joined Costco!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

The Easter Bunny left a gift in my bank account, so I decided to join Costco! For the past few years I've been going once a year to stock up on basics (tagging along with a friend), but now I can go whenever I want! Here's what I bought:

Annual supply of toilet paper and paper towel
Almond butter (natural).
Biodegradable laundry detergent for light colors only (my last one lasted twenty months!)
Ancient Grain blend (higher in protein and fibre than plain brown rice)
Green tea (I love the Costco Sencha!)
Dried fruit blend (for making healthy muffins)
2 loaves of sprouted-grain bread (straight into the freezer!)
Frozen blend of green beans, yellow beans and carrots
Mountain Bread (super-duper-thin wrap-like flatbreads @ 70 cals each!)

I'm so excited to join Costco or BJs once my bf and I get into our house! It's almost as exciting to go wholesale shopping as it is to be getting our own place!! (Well not quite, but still)

1st Time @ Physiotherapy

Monday, March 29, 2010

Is it pervy to lust after your physiotherapist? It's not like lusting after a priest, right? RIGHT?

Oh yes, I've just been twisted and contorted into all sorts of unnatural positions while jabbing my knee into an attractive man's thigh as he pokes and prods at my butt muscles. That was the most action I've had in a while! My new secret boyfriend was also looking a little flushed...

In other news, my whole body is out of alignment! Fortunately, this means more trips to physio!
