I also think I'd be more inclined to exercise if I could do it in a sexy cage.

I Think I Had a Breakthrough!

I went to my normal fitness class tonight- the instructor changes the routine from month to month. November is a new circuit training routine, with weights and cardio. And it was weird... I finished every single interval. Strong. With good form. And the "heavy" weights. And I could have done twice the cardio between sets. I could have done another thirty minutes.

I'm starting to realize that my weight loss goals (125 by December 1st, 119 by someday not too long after that) are rather arbitrary. I'm at the point where my body looks GOOD, and I feel good, so while I do want to weigh 119 (even for just one day, just for laughs!) I am getting close to that point where I need to shift my priorities more towards being strong and looking TONED. I think that is going to be a lot harder than losing the weight, because there will be less of a concrete measurement of "success".

I've definitely got a lot to think about over the next few weeks!

    Congratulations...you are doing so good and quite the accomplishment :)

Getting strong and keeping your muscle mass is very important. You can loose a lot of weight but building muscle mass is the key to being healthy as well. You burn more calories when you do a weight workout so in the long run you will loose the extra fat as well and retain your muscle...so it's a win win situation.

Keep fit, eat healthy!

Salad with leafy greens, cucumber, grape tomatoes, red onion, quinoa and sunflower seeds! Yum! With a slice of whole-wheat bread on the side!

And the best thing about a dinner-sized salad is that I can eat it at 4:45, before my workout, and then still have room for a good-sized snack between the gym and bed!

This month, I exercised 1615 minutes! I think that's an all-time record! (Yup- double-checked and the old record was 1606 minutes!) It's definitely showing- I had to buy some new clothes yesterday including size four jeans, a size small skirt and three size small tops. I even fit into a pair of 26" jeans (although they were hideous and itchy so I obviously didn't buy them).

... and look in the mirror, I can see something that has eluded me for the previous twenty-seven years.

This creature has been in hiding my entire life.

It is feared by the entire animal (and human...) kingdom.

This creature is...

... an abdominal muscle!

I never thought I'd actually have a visible abdominal muscle! I guess I just thought I'd lose weight and have a thin version of a fat stomach.

Apparently not.

Next it'll be the chupacabra!

    I remember getting down to 138 lbs and noticing those lines down my abdomen. I was so proud. I would look at them in the mirror every day. Sometimes I would even lift up my shirt and show them to my friends. I sure do miss them.

I'm sooo jealous. emoticon
