Walking Shorts

Saturday, June 12, 2010

I just put on my old walking shorts from last summer (which were uncomfortably tight in the waist AND thighs!) and they're now a bit baggy in the waist and super-spacious in the thighs! Yay for comfy shorts! I'm going to the park!

I have on snug yoga shorts today. I like them because they are long-ish and cover a good part of my thighs. It helps that I am wearing a long shirt but still, I am pleased. Oh ya, and they are three sizes down from most of my old clothes. Yea us!

Hiking (w/ Photo!)

Monday, June 07, 2010

I went hiking on the weekend! It was just an 11 km out-and-back... it rained ALL AROUND the area we hiked but the trail miraculously stayed sunny and warm for the whole four hours. There was still a fair bit of snow (that's what you get for trusting Google!) including waist-deep sections in some places, but in the end we reached a beautiful glacial lake (still frozen) and saw two bighorn sheep and a marmot.

That is totally gorgeous!!! It's hard to imagine snow right now. We've had temps in the 80s and 90s most days.

It looks awesome. What trail is it? (I'm a Calgarian too.) I think there's a hot line for trail conditions in Kananaskis (assuming it is in Kananaskis).

And the weather report at:

I thought there was a phone number too. I'll check on that.
