Weekends are the worst for me. Let me spell it out for you:

Saturday started off decent - workout/running clinic. Then it was downhill....1 everything bagel with cream cheese and a banana for breakfast. Follow that with 2 slices of Red Baron pizza...that wouldn't be a disaster. But tack on movie theater popcorn and Mexican nachos. Boy oh boy.

Sunday wasn't much better - eggs with ham and peppers, english muffin, corned beef hash. Follow that with Mexican chips and white sauce. Top it off with 5 Oreo's (craving) and a spaghetti dinner. Eeesh.

So, I'm annoyed and embarrassed that I ate like this. And, I am actually held accountable. I have to turn in my eating sheets. Shame I tell you. emoticon

But, that's ok. This is a new week and just because I was stupid for 2 days doesn't mean I can make changes. So, back to work I go with my healthy options and a new attitude. Just because I'm killing some serious calories during the week, does not mean I can go crazy and just binge on the weekends. So, lesson (re)learned. I need to stay in the game, stay focused, and if I want something, allow myself 1 SMALL something. Like 1 Oreo or 1 taco or 1 C popcorn...not an entire weekend of bad choices.

Today started off right - 1 banana, 1.5 C Smart Start cereal, 1.5 C milk. Lunch should be easy - peanut butter (Jiff all natural) banana sandwich, greek yogurt, orange & grapefruit salad, and an apple. After work, a serious workout with my boot camp team, then spaghetti dinner (with smart barilla pasta) and a BIG salad. Here's to a new week and the opportunity to make better choices.

6 week boot camp - day 2

Today I ran 1.5 miles in 16 minutes and 18 seconds. I feel like I have lots of room for improvement. I also did 20 regular and 27 half push ups in 2 minutes and 37 sit ups in 2 minutes. I burned 635 calories too!!!

I am looking forward to how much I improve over the next 6 weeks. Stay tuned for more updates each day!

I found THE dress. Holy smokes! I'm so excited!!!

It's got a low back...so here comes my 110% effort to create an even more muscular back and of course muscular arms. I'm so uber excited for this!!

Tomorrow, I'll be heading to Barnes and Noble to pick up my copy of The New Rules of Lifting for Women. I can't wait!!! I am so excited to read it and start using it! I might also pick up the abs book. And, I plan on taking before and after pictures so I can see my progress.

And, a big shout out to QUERISTCHIUN for the suggestion on the book! Thanks a million!!!!

Cravings and goals

I've got a confession to make.

I am a carb junkie. I love them. Without shame too.

I just saw an article that had a picture of spaghetti attached to it. Immediately my belly said "Feed me spaghetti for dinner. emoticon" I don't know if I will, but it made me want some carbs.

I also need to confess --> I loooooove breakfast for dinner lately. I usually make 3 eggs - scrambled with a splash of milk, dash of salt and pepper and frozen veggies (peppers & onions). I also like to enjoy (once in a while) corned beef hash with this. (Corned beef hash is oh so bad for me though!) And - inspired by the Asian side of me - I often enjoy white rice. I am okay with all this too.

I am - even with these cravings - in the process of hitting goal 1 on weigh in day and potentially being a few pounds away from goal 2. Since we're having a Holiday Challenge at the gym (a challenge of teams and points), I am also continuing to work towards my fitness goals too. I can't tell you how excited I am - every day - to hit the gym with my team mates, laugh at ourselves in the classes we aren't good at (zumba), and smile through it all.

So I guess my point in all of this is that I listen to my cravings and - with a keen eye - allow myself to enjoy the items my body says it wants. If I forbid it, I will only succumb to overeating and gluttony. Enjoy your wants, but with an eye on the nutritional value. And, keep up with your fitness!

Goal 2 --> I am getting ready to mow you down! emoticon

    Let me step outta your way since you are heading for goal 2 with a mower, lol. You rock girl, so glad that you have a great support team at the gym to keep you "honest", lol. Accountability and moderation are what it's all about.

    I agree!

Nothing should be on the "don't eat that list" (even corned beef hash, which I love). You just have to watch how much of it you eat.

Operation Get Fitter!

Operation get fit. But! It's not just any fit, it's wedding dress fit! emoticon

Yep, that's right. I need to get the toned arms I desire and start to feel like I can dance the night away.

SO! Here we go...please submit your suggestions for how I can achieve the toned look I desire for my wedding day. I have 257 days to go!

    check out the book New Rules of Lifting for Women. It's a full body program, but will have you toned all over by time you're done!
